Week 2 (already?) - Chiefs vs. Chargers
Sep 15, 2022 11:22 PM #1

We'll see how well the guys do on a short week. A definite step up in class from Arizona.

Sep 15, 2022 11:30 PM #2

Is it just me, of does Al Michaels look younger every year? He must have a portrait stashed away somewhere in his attic.

Sep 16, 2022 01:00 AM #3

Earthquake world series was 33 years ago and Al looked older then.

Sep 16, 2022 01:01 AM #4

As for this game, gotta get the offensive line working in the second half, and get Patrick out of the pocket once in a while.

My God, I forgot he called that game too ! When it happened I was watching the Series pregame with my folks, who'd just come to town for a visit. We were about to go out to dinner when it hit. Decided to stay home and watch the coverage instead.

Sep 16, 2022 01:22 AM #6

Now THAT'S more like it !

Sep 16, 2022 01:36 AM #7

Great field position. Defense stepping up...another three and out.

Sep 16, 2022 01:52 AM #8

PICK SIX !!!!

Sep 16, 2022 01:58 AM #9

Watson's been watching KU game film. Shades of Cobee Bryant !

Sep 16, 2022 02:00 AM #10

Cook needs to sit the rest of the game. 2 stupid 15 yd penalties.

Sep 16, 2022 02:16 AM #11

Time to bleed that clock !

Sep 16, 2022 02:20 AM #12

NO BUTKER NO PROBLEM

Sep 16, 2022 02:29 AM #13

WHEW

Sep 16, 2022 02:34 AM #14

And your Player Of The Game ? Washington State U's own Jaylen Watson.

Sep 16, 2022 04:00 PM #15

2-0!

How do y’all think our new receivers fared?

Sep 16, 2022 04:36 PM #16

Looks like Justin Herbert left KC with a case of sore ribs.

(Insert BBQ rib joke here.)

Sep 16, 2022 05:45 PM #17

@nwhawkfan And he still about smoked us...

From the look of things, I'd say the Chiefs defense smoked his ribs.

Sep 16, 2022 08:35 PM #19

@rockchalkjayhawk Not so well in this game, Kelce and Hardman did most catching.

Unlike previous years, the good thing about this new group is that every week somebody else would step up. Thus opposing teams have to plan for all targets and not just Hill and Kelce.

Sep 16, 2022 08:35 PM #20

@nwhawkfan 7th round pick, not bad.

That Chargers secondary is tough. seemed like nobody could get open regularly. Certainly hope that's not the norm! Scantling and JuJu are quality, proven WRs. I expect them to shine at some point.

Sep 16, 2022 11:04 PM #22

Yards per play

Chiefs 5.9
Chargers 5.4

Chargers did run a lot more plays of course.

Sep 25, 2022 12:30 PM #23

I hope that Chiefs are not looking past Colts today. The league has parity.

Colts will be fired up playing at home and after an embarrassing loss last week.

Sep 25, 2022 03:35 PM #24

The line of 5.5 in favor of the Chiefs seems too low. The Colts lost 24-0 to the Jags last week. Matt Ryan is 48/80, 547 yds, but just 1 TD, 4 INTs and 7 sacks. Mahomes is 54/74, 595 yds, 7 TDs, 0 INTs, 1 sack against much better teams. My only concern is that the Chiefs decide to take the week off and let Indy hang in the game too long.

Sep 25, 2022 05:01 PM #25

Total special teams breakdown today. 2 kickoffs only to the 3 yd line, both getting 30 yd returns. Moore muffed first punt, let 2nd punt go by him at the 15 downed at the 1. Missed extra point. Then let Colts get 25 yd punt return.

5 f-ed up plays. Toub probably Googling Indiana gun laws.

Sep 25, 2022 05:08 PM #26

Next one: Pacheco catches the kickoff at the 1 instead of touchback. Only 14 yd runback.

Do we have any experienced kick receivers on the roster?

Sep 25, 2022 05:29 PM #27

Frustrating game

Sep 25, 2022 06:36 PM #28

Patrick a lil frustrated!

@Crimsonorblue22 said in Week 2 (already?) - Chiefs vs. Chargers:

He needs to just take what they give him. Colts are just following the Bengals blueprint.. Lots of cover 4..

Sep 25, 2022 06:49 PM #30

2 more ST screwups. Delay of game penalty on a field goal (attempt was good after penalty at least). Now we fake a FG on 4th/11 and have an ineligible receiver downfield, which is declined because the pass was botched.

Gave ball back to Colts at their 24.

Mahomes and EB arguing fiercely at the end of 1st half. Entire team seems out of sorts!

Sep 25, 2022 06:59 PM #31

The comedy continues. Missed 34 yd fg attempt. (I'm just writing these to be able to keep track.) 9 F-ups.

Meanwhile, defense is doing well.

Sep 25, 2022 07:02 PM #32

@mayjay we are missing butker

Sep 25, 2022 07:03 PM #33

@Crimsonorblue22 - when is he due back?

Sep 25, 2022 07:03 PM #34

I heard them say next week

Sep 25, 2022 07:10 PM #35

Well, they should get their wish and lose this game. Just constant dumb crap today.

Sep 25, 2022 07:16 PM #36

Those kickoff’s need to be allowed to go into the end zone.

By your count, how many screwups?

Sep 25, 2022 07:21 PM #38

@Gorilla72 about 1 million on special teams alone somehow lol

Sep 25, 2022 07:21 PM #39

Roy Williams 🤝 Andy Reid

Banking time outs like they are worth money.

Sep 25, 2022 07:27 PM #40

The team did not look prepared, coaching staff starting with Reid did not do a good job for getting them ready. I was afraid of the sloppy outcome.

Sep 25, 2022 07:29 PM #41

Even great plays like a sack on Indy's last drive had a bad ending with stupid penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct.

Well-deserved loss.

Seems to be a game that Butker can use in future negotiating. Toub, maybe not.

Sep 25, 2022 08:21 PM #42

Chris Jones, a veteran leader, should know better, you cannot do that in a close game.

Sep 25, 2022 08:25 PM #43

@AsadZ What did he actually do? I read he said something to Ryan. Any details?

Sep 25, 2022 11:29 PM #44

@mayjay the official knows, he was right there. I'm guessing it wasn't, how's the fam doing? Pretty sure it won't happen again. Kelce missed a catch right in his hands, 2 fumblroskis in the red zone! 😭🤮 fixable things, butker back, xtra pt, field goal. 🤮 rookie mistakes too. Coaches and Patrick getting on same page. Saw some good D, missing Willie Gay, again dumb stuff, handle your business!

Sep 25, 2022 11:53 PM #45

Man, all those screwups and still a shot to tie before the final interception too.

New stadium is a shadow shit show too. Have fun with that, Indy.

Sep 26, 2022 05:08 AM #46

Holy crap.
That loss was just straight up embarrassing. Didn’t get a chance to weigh in earlier. Probably a good thing! &$#@%%%
As @mayjay said, just a comedy of unforced errors. Wow.

Sky Moore! Jesus. You have lost punt return privileges. If I were the coaches I’d be debating a straight up roster drop after that shit show. Easy to argue he lost KC the game. Fer effs sake.

Did it seem like we had a zillion drops? Was Mahomes not accurate on some of those? He was pressured most of the day.

Chris Jones. Omg. Why?

Brilliant fake kick decision, Andy. Really went well. Another argument he lost us the game.

And why the hell is McKinnon getting so many rushes? I like him, but his skill is not running up the gut. Sweeps! Screens! Use his freaking speed! Remarkable to say, but another Andy fail.

So disappointed in that loss.

Did you all see halftime chat between Pat and Eric B. Is there any bad blood between the two.

I recall last year after AFC C game there was a story on how Pat and Eric B have not seen eye to eye. Is this just speculation or something has been brewing between them.

I didn’t notice during the game, but saw some headlines about it after. Seemed like a tiny bit of back and forth for sure. Adds fuel the the rumor mill, huh!

It is Brady versus Mahomes this week on primetime Sun night.

Both are coming from a loss.

Who will come out on top?
