wonder why they have started doing this ? -They did it laast year too didn't they ?

Tell you what , chances are Zach is the starter at the 5 - -But I'm here to tell you - - Zuby looks like a specimen - -really built - if he has any game at all might be hard to keep him off the floor

@jayballer67

I think the 5 is open competition right now. We might see a surprise there. I'm high on Zach but sounds as if he hasn't done enough to win a starting spot yet.

Yes they did this last year when they had a dunkfest on Tulsa

TCU SMOKED Alabama in their scrimmage. These things are kinda weird and not about winning but reported score was 99-69.

Not surprised. TCU returned everything

@BeddieKU23 Oats a fraud too.

@BShark

At a school that cares about Football only so he probably has a long leash

Oct 20, 2022 07:13 PM #8

@BeddieKU23 Definitely. I had been high on him in the past based on philosophy but having actually watched several Alabama games since he got there he has nothing on really great coaches imo.

@BeddieKU23 should've beat az!

Oct 20, 2022 09:50 PM #10

Excellent for development! Wish we had several of these.

Unlike last year, I will not have eyes on this one. But will report back secondhand stuff as it comes!

I wonder what the format will be? Last year against Tulsa it was very structured (e.g. running specific scenarios, playing against pre-called stuff like a press). Wonder if it'll be the same deal here.

We "sucked" but also it was pretty much dead even with another ranked team.

Some other notes...

Cam started instead of Gradey. Motivational tactic for Gradey, Cam was not good at all.

MJ is behind Joe on the depth chart.

Bobby was able to play which is good because his health has been a concern.

Spacing is a concern.

Used a small ball line-up with Kevin at the 4 and Jalen at the 5. Juan, Bob and Joe were the guards, this was effective.

Big situation is not great and the biggest area of concern next to three point shooting. As of now sounds like Zach/KJ are the top 2 guys with Zuby third.

The small ball lineup seems like it'd be great for like 10 mpg or if we aren't playing good defense anyways. Just try and run.

Ultimately I think a 5-out strategy is the best thing for this team the way they are structured. I think you can get back to throwing it into the low post to a big man again in 23-24 after Zuby and Udeh have a year of seasoning.

This is a little off topic, but such a rare event, it has to shared. So, who is sticking up for KU players in the media? Frannie? Say what?

Oct 24, 2022 10:45 PM #18

Fran and Bill are friends he doesn't actually hate KU lol
