Another chance to become bowl eligible.

Gusty winds already causing problems on that 3-and-out punt.

Oct 22, 2022 03:22 PM #2

@nwhawkfan And here we go , - - this Defense -- wait , what ? - -did I say Defense ?

Oct 22, 2022 03:28 PM #3

Defense ? What Defense ? Ole !

Oct 22, 2022 03:28 PM #4

Geesh this defense is really regressed ---Therre is NO EXCUSE to be giving up 11 -- -13 -14 yards per play

Oct 22, 2022 03:30 PM #5

Can't expect us to keep coming from behind. May be too much of a task for Bean & company.

Oct 22, 2022 03:38 PM #6

14-0 right where we want em

Oct 22, 2022 03:42 PM #7

We’re back to being a team that can’t get out of their own way. Last two weeks we have not been sharp.

Oct 22, 2022 03:44 PM #8

Lucky to get three points out of that drive.

Three mistakes already costing us. Fumble, snafu on the snap, and a penalty. Not an auspicious start.

Oct 22, 2022 03:45 PM #9

takes them 2 minutes to score TD - - takes us 7 minutes to get a FG

Oct 22, 2022 03:46 PM #10

We get the wind in the second quarter.

Oct 22, 2022 03:53 PM #12

Just a dam shame when you can't put up more resistence then this when the other team haa the ball - almost comical

Oct 22, 2022 04:07 PM #13

Just don’t have the dudes on defense. Baylor just bigger and faster everywhere

Oct 22, 2022 04:08 PM #14

Boy we miss Jalen - it shows so bad

Oct 22, 2022 04:31 PM #15

JD clearly was the heart and soul of the team.

Oct 22, 2022 04:31 PM #16

Just catching up to real time now…
Just watched that appalling defensive effort when we had them backed up to their end zone. Wtf?

No blitz when dude is running around in his end zone and a lame, useless zone that allows them to get a first down? Why?

Don’t get that at all.

Oct 22, 2022 04:32 PM #17

Not a catch

Oct 22, 2022 04:33 PM #18

Close.

Oct 22, 2022 04:34 PM #19

I say no catch

Oct 22, 2022 04:37 PM #20

My God, what a trainwreck of a half. And it could've been a lot worse.

Job Number One for the coaching staff: Recruit some damn guys who know how to play defense. A new DC wouldn't hurt either.

Switching to Chelsea-Manchester United for a while. At least that game's competitive.

DC isn't the issue. KU just doesn't have B12 talent across the board yet or the depth behind the B12 talent we do have. Fixing the defense was always going to take a lot longer than the offense because it's much easier to mask deficiencies on offense than defense through schemes. KU is also still one of the youngest teams in the country. They will get better, just not overnight.

Don’t suppose Pulisic got the start for Chelsea?

Oct 22, 2022 04:48 PM #23

Very disappointing game. We clearly were a very good team with a very small margin for error. And by that what I mean is we don’t have the depth to absorb injuries. Take Daniels, Hishaw, Bryant, etc out, we are a significantly worse team.

Oct 22, 2022 04:50 PM #24

Also, I hope we find a better way to take advantage of Beans elite speed. Maybe WR?

Daniels is the biggest issue and KU desperately needs him back. KU has the depth to not hurt too much from Hishaw's injury and Bryant is a a toss up because he makes aot of big plays, but also gives up a lot of big plays.

Bean's not the runner Daniels is so teams haven't had to account for him as much as they did with Daniels.

Oct 22, 2022 05:10 PM #28

Until we can stop them on 4th down, this is going to be demoralizing.

that doesn't take into account Devin - - Morrison Thomas - -we was suppose to have one of the most talent & deep RB in the Conference

When you have a QB that isn't super accurate and despite his speed, doesn't have great running instincts, it means defenses can key on the back without worrying too much about the QB. What made the offense so dangerous with JD6 was his ability to pull the ball and take off forcing defenses to have to account for him as well. It's much easier to stop Neal and the other backs when you know there isn't much chance of Bean keeping it instead.

Wow, I switch away for a bit and KU makes a game out of it !

Oh yeah...no, Pulisic didn't start, he subbed in. Great finish, though. Chelsea got a late PK goal, then Man United got the equalizer in stoppage time.

Let's go Hawks ! Need more stops !

Oct 22, 2022 06:06 PM #51

@Crimsonorblue22 or a holding penalty or something. Negative play at least

Crap

Oct 22, 2022 06:07 PM #53

Wide side nobody

Oct 22, 2022 06:07 PM #54

@Crimsonorblue22 almost better off letting him score there

Oct 22, 2022 06:07 PM #55

Time out.

Oct 22, 2022 06:08 PM #56

Making it very hard on us.

Oct 22, 2022 06:09 PM #57

I’m sure this has been covered but the announcers are idiots.

Oct 22, 2022 06:09 PM #58

Doesn't look like much effort trying to shed blocks

Oct 22, 2022 06:11 PM #59

Coach should do nothing but recruit - -DEFENSIVE -DEFENSIVE - - -DEFENSIVE - -DEFINSIVE players in the up coming years

Oct 22, 2022 06:12 PM #60

The defense is much improved this year. Honestly I think it’s all about depth. Across the board.

Oct 22, 2022 06:12 PM #61

Had to run out for a bit and heard a rock chalk behind me. Was none other than Chancellor BGL!

Crap!

Oct 22, 2022 06:18 PM #65

Let's credit Baylor.

Oct 22, 2022 06:20 PM #66

Better decision for bean would be to throw it deep and if it’s an interception at least it’s on the other side of the field. Makes no sense to throw a short pass after rolling out and scrambling.

Oct 22, 2022 06:20 PM #67

56 yards rushing total --will not win you very many games

Oct 22, 2022 06:20 PM #68

Amen

Oct 22, 2022 06:21 PM #69

I look forward to the day that we put it on Baylor.

Oct 22, 2022 06:22 PM #70

I have never seen a college QB other than Bean who looks so average while also looking elite in the same game.

Oct 22, 2022 06:49 PM #71

We're so far behind we had to throw

Oct 22, 2022 06:50 PM #72

What's wrong w/Grimm?

Oct 22, 2022 06:51 PM #73

How's Hishaw? Did any of them die? Would they tell us? Has Hishaw been on the sideline?

Oct 22, 2022 06:53 PM #74

@Crimsonorblue22 injured. I think shoulder

Oct 22, 2022 07:00 PM #75

OK , so I maybe WAY off base But - - -Am I totally wrong when I say it's kinda sad when a team like Clemson that's rated # 5 in the Nation and undefeated - You think that a team like Clemson that has been recognized for some time as a Football power- - almost yearly - - I think it's pretty sad that their fans storm the field after beating Syracuse which is ranked 14th.

Seriously -act like you belong that would be like KU beating some lower ranked team in Basketball and the fans rushing the court after beating say TCU for example - Seriously - - I don't think I'm wrong at all. - -Makes them look like they wasn't expecting to win.

Oct 22, 2022 08:41 PM #76

Just watching osu, texass, tt isu, their O's are so explosive. I am a doubting Thomas now. 🄺😩😢 not isu.

Oct 22, 2022 08:49 PM #77

@jayballer67 they storm after every win. It’s their thing ĀÆ_(惄)_/ĀÆ

Oct 22, 2022 11:43 PM #78

BTW, belated question, but can anybody explain that failed 2 pt conversion we tried?
I have no clue what was happening there. Bean floated right, threw back left to an offensive lineman?? or tried to.

Oct 22, 2022 11:53 PM #79

Where in the hell is our 6th win going to come from: OSt, Texas Tech, Texas or KSt? I thought maybe Texas Tech, but they just destroyed WV today. I guess we are left with an unexpected upset, like Texas last year. OUCH!

Oct 23, 2022 12:20 AM #80

@stoptheflop they have played with everyone so far to an extent. One of the games we won’t shoot ourselves in the foot with a bad penalty or turnover and pull it out.

They’re getting one.

Oct 23, 2022 02:45 AM #81

Today is a day where we saw what the real progress of this team is. At this point last year, when KU fumbled it back to Baylor down 28-3 right before halftime, that would've spiraled into a 59-10 loss or something in that neighborhood and we didn't see that today.

We saw the coaching staff make adjustments at halftime and the defense played much better in the 2nd half and gave KU a chance to come back and the team has bought into Leipold and staff which is always nice to see. We also saw the offense play much better in the 2nd half as well.

Hopefully we get JD6 back after the bye week because ESPN has KU with a 36% chance to win each of their next two games which is the best chance for KU to get win number 6.

Oct 23, 2022 03:12 AM #82

@rockchalkjayhawk wasn't it tipped? We had one before to bostick. He use to be a qb in high school, I think. I wasn't paying attention. But he did catch it last time. For 2.

Yup, tipped, but i just couldn't make heads or tails of that play and who was involved. oh well.

Oct 23, 2022 12:11 PM #84

@Texas-Hawk-10 Yes, progress in this area is clear

Keep fighting
Do not give up

KU needs to start the game fast. We have seen in time and time again this season that KU gets behind big time in Q1 and Q2.

It is challenging to come back from such large deficits.
