Kansas cornerback Kevin Short has withdrawn from the team for personal reasons, coach Charlie Weis announced Tuesday.
Short, a junior juco transfer who sat out a season ago to get his academics in order, was expected to battle for a starting cornerback spot.
"I am sorry to report that I must withdraw from school for personal reasons," Weis said. "I want to be clear that I am not leaving due to academics and I am not being dismissed from the team. I am not sure what the future holds, but I am hoping to return to KU."
