Marking the misses with C. A’s (top shelf) and B’s (solid player) are debatable, so I didnt mark those groups.

This list compared to top 20 non McD’s in the same time frame might lose. I dont know what that says, if anything. Also is 7 or 8 busts out of 20 bad? Still worth it?

MJ WTF

Hope MJ sticks around and figures it out. Could take a Wayne Selden approach. Next year could be solid. Year 3 could be really good.

Quentin Grimes would be a better (and still generous) comparison, IMO. I'm still rooting for him to play up to his ability at this point though.

@DanR didnt use Grimes bc he didnt stay but yeah, we may not see why MJ was a 5 star until he leaves. Hope not.

Cliff Alexander would’ve been a beast his Jr year if not for his family.

@approxinfinity Billy Preston - Will It Go Round In Circles?

Bill’s 1st team AP all Americans -

Would make a nice squad. Unfair really.

Do we think Billy's Mom is still dating the Adidas guy or did she finally ghost him?:beaming_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Since Approx won't hand out A's, I will. As a teacher you have to complete all your work competently to get an A, so

A's: Perry Ellis, Doke, and Big Dave

B (would've been A's if stayed all 4) Wayne Selden, Wiggins, Oubre, Newmann, Josh Jackson (so much talent, but maturity issues derailed his career), Dotson, assuming he leaves, Gradey,

C Played but meh Selby, Cliff, Grimes,

F Preston, Cheick, Bryce, Bragg, (really want to put Rice here, but maybe time will make us appreciate him)

Incomplete Rice, Udeh

UGH. I hope MJ stays so much.

The Alexander/Diallo issues hurt big time. Imagine the 15-16 team with either Sophomore Cliff or a Diallo who got to practice over the summer... Or the 16/17 team with a Junior Cliff Alexander...

17-18 we made the FF playing reclassed Silvio crucial minutes and Freshman Marcus Garrett at the 4 lol. Damn you Billy. Damn you Adidas. Damn you FBI for investigating something nobody on Earth wants tax dollars spent investigating. Damn.

The stupid bullshit we had to deal with between those four bigs with eligibility issues easily cost us another FF or Natty.

@Kcmatt7 There was real talk that Cliff wanted to stay but couldn't.

Cliff wouldn't have made it to his junior year. The light was starting to come on for him at the end of his freshman season and was sounding like he planned to come back for his sophomore year before everything hit the fan with him. On the trajectory he was on, I don't think he would've stayed for his junior year because I think he would've been a pretty high draft prospect after his sophomore year and left then.

@BShark He would have been a 1st team AA under Bill. Dude would have been putting up a stat line of like 17 ppg, 13 rebounds and 2.5 blocks by the time he left here.

Legitimately think about him on the 15-16 team.
- PG: Frank
- SG: DG
- SF: Selden
- PF: Perry
- C: Cliff
- Bench: BG, Svi, Vick, Landen, Bragg, Traylor

That team shot .418 from deep and was putting up 82 ppg WITHOUT any scoring at the 5 lol. And ALSO only gave up 68 ppg despite having literally no rim protection. Cliff would have absolutely fucked up Ochefu, and Bill has his 2nd Natty.

And would’ve saved us all from the “Bill hates Chieck” discourse thank mercy

I was at the Maui tournament when Diallo was forced to the bench. The Free Diallo chants were loud! (I may have started them!)

@approxinfinity My last 20 McD's were McDoubles. With a Large Ice Tea. Unsweetened.
