NCAA Championships and Coincidence

It's the offseason and I'm bored so here we go.

Winning a championship is very hard. It typically involves a lot of talent, and generally some luck.

As we all know, Self's two titles at KU involved a player coming back at the 11th hour. Brandon Rush due to injury in 08 and Ochai due to wanting to be a badass in 22.

So this got me thinking about other circumstances. Jay Wright possibly has zero titles if Rick Brunson doesn't have sexual assault charges in 2014. Temple was set to do a Manning and hire his dad to land him. Harder to say if they still win in 16 or not, but still interesting.

"And generally some luck" is right, NC had three good looks at the end of our last championship but failed to connect.

And Memphis missed a bunch of FT's in 2008 and we missed a bunch of FT's in 2003. Luck is definitely part of it.

@Texas-Hawk-10 I would argue (because I'm an a-hole) that missed free throws are more a by-product of not practicing them.
