So everyone always tells me I pay too much for tickets, was curious were everyone was getting there’s from? My son would like to go for the first time this year so I’m looking for Saturday game and GA for any of the games are in the $100s as well as reserved on stub hub, seat geek, Etc.

Dec 03, 2023 02:01 PM #2

I was looking at the same. I'm starting to be tempted by prices at Indiana. Low 60's when I looked yesterday. Was hoping I could be lured to Lawrence on one of my long weekends but like you pointed out 100+ and when stubhub grabs their 'service fees' whatever the heck that is, even 60 turns into 80 or more. It makes zero sense that the more you pay for a ticket the more the service fee.

Dec 03, 2023 03:23 PM #3

There are always scalpers nearby if you don’t want to pay fees, but that opens a whole other can of worms.

You're probably not gonna find a good deal for Saturday since it's the Border War.

Dec 08, 2023 04:57 AM #5

Will be in Bloomington next Saturday! Super excited!

Dec 08, 2023 02:15 PM #6

Best deal on GA tickets is usually over winter break and the price often drops quite a bit as you get closer to game day. These used to drop to ~$20 a ticket but seems like $50-75 is a good deal the last couple of years

Dec 08, 2023 02:27 PM #7

Did you find tickets? There will not be cheap tickets to see KU play Mizzourah, but there are no bad seats (just some are better than others lol). Anything from free throw line to free throw line is ideal. The closer the better, but I’ve sat in the corner bleachers and had a blast as well!

Dec 08, 2023 02:28 PM #8

@wissox AWESOME!! I assume you're going to check out the Mall of America ???

OH! The OTHER Bloomington....

Dec 08, 2023 05:45 PM #9

@nuleafjhawk I'm a one and done on the mall of america!

Dec 08, 2023 06:36 PM #10

@wissox What comes after that? NYC? Las Vegas? Rodeo drive? Harrod’s? Paris? Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, UAE?

Dec 08, 2023 07:53 PM #11

@patoh3 if he goes to Vegas he needs to budget 10 times as much for food as does for gambling/ shows. I was going to say it's obscene, but it's criminal.

Dec 08, 2023 07:54 PM #12

@wissox yup. I was much less impressed with it than any of 3 malls I've seen in Vegas.

Dec 08, 2023 07:57 PM #13

I’m not sure what game I will try to go to at this point

Dec 08, 2023 08:18 PM #14

@nuleafjhawk Did a conference in Vegas once and as I stared at the machines while waiting to board the airplane home the battle in my mind was intense. The devil on one shoulder, go ahead, put your God given dollars in it, the Spirit on the other saying it's not your money, don't you dare! Went home without gambling a cent!

Dec 08, 2023 08:39 PM #15

@wissox I appreciate that, but I don't necessarily agree that "gambling" is a sin. It's like everything. Best in moderation. If you drink a beer - who cares? If you drink 15 of them, there's going to be huge repercussions.

That's how we gamble - we take a set amount (and it's usually not much) and when it's gone we go do something else.

It's just an entertainment expense. Like some folks will think nothing of spending $150 on dinner. I'm going to spend $10 at McD's and go do something fun.

We were just in Vegas about 3 weeks ago. I have been there probably 13 times but I won't go back. The first night my wife and I grabbed a couple of hamburgers at a food court. Not a fancy restaurant. Two single hamburgers, we split an order of fries and two bottles of water. $51.00 Now THAT's a sin.

Dec 08, 2023 09:46 PM #16

@nuleafjhawk It’s more fun if you can get someone to comp your meals, then you can just enjoy it. I had a wonderful Kobe steak at one of the casino restaurants with a lousy lobster tail and a glass of vino for nothing. Tasted wonderful. Would not have tasted so great if I had to foot the 250 a plate dinner though (and that was 10 years ago prices). It’s too expensive, but all entertainment money by definition is wasted funds anyway.

Dec 08, 2023 10:13 PM #17

@dylans have you been to Vegas lately? I'd really love to know where to get deals on food. It's so much worse now than the last time I went two years ago.

Dec 08, 2023 10:17 PM #18

@nuleafjhawk No I have not. Not much to do there with kids.

Dec 08, 2023 10:31 PM #19

@dylans You're right. But people drag them there anyway. Drives me crazy. Those poor kids are probably scarred for life after walking down The Strip a while.

Dec 09, 2023 01:37 AM #20

@nuleafjhawk The $5 buffet is gone in LV. Better deals on buffets in non-strip outlying casinos, but expensive food in restaurants is still there, too. Lower minimums on table games, but usually crowded with locals. We played for a couple hours on a penny-minimum roulette machine at the Red Rock casino. Fun machine to try various progressive systems (where you increase your bet by some amount after each loss) without risking more than a couple dollars on any given roll of the ball.

Ha boy can I ever tell you some stories about our 1st time in Vegs - - -WOW, --crazy , when w landed at the Airport it was out in the middle of the Dessert or so it seemed. Believe the Airport is McKerron isn''t it? -- I was thinking this is Las Vegs lol. - -but didn't take long to realize - - yes it was. They had the one armed bandits right there in the terminal lol.

But walking the strip you learned in a hurry. - -1st time I had ever seen homeless people- - seen tent , after tent , after tent on the strip - people with everything they owned in wrapped up bags -- crazy times.

My buddy and I was walking the strip. There was a little old lady aways in front of us and every time she came to a news stand , she would open it pull some paper out and just cuzz a blue streak and throw them on the ground and go on. -She did this 4-5 times and I told my buddy the next time she does that I'm going to pick on of those papers up and see what the hell she is cuzzing about.

Sure enough she repeats it again , so like I said I pick one up and saw why lol. - -It was a book with the list of names of Hookers - what their rate was - - what their speciality was- - - -, had rates for threesomes - - how much hourly - -and their rate depending on what you wanted - -had their contact numbers - -told their location - -they was out on the Ranch - - -I told my buddy Holy craplmao

Dec 09, 2023 03:15 AM #22

@jayballer67 lol. Yes, you see things there that you don't see anywhere else!

Dec 29, 2023 09:21 PM #23

Looking at possibly next Saturday or another Saturday later in the season. Anyone know how many rows there are in the field house? I’m thinking 26 but not sure.

Dec 30, 2023 02:44 PM #24

@kjayhawks I don’t think the 26-30 counts the first 15? rows in the lettered sections (closest to the court). Makes you feel more special. :/

Jan 04, 2024 05:36 PM #25

Well I bit the bullet, will be in Allen Saturday for the kiddos first game.

Jan 04, 2024 07:39 PM #26

@kjayhawks - Awesome! Everyone will have a great time!

Jan 04, 2024 09:13 PM #27

Only $1k for 4 tickets lol

Jan 05, 2024 03:58 AM #29

@Gorilla72 about half way up in section 9, anything closer was $209 plus fees per ticket would’ve been $1200 or more. GA I could’ve gone for $65 a piece but too cold to wait outside with kids for 2 hours.

They’re all great seats!

Jan 05, 2024 04:37 PM #31

@dylans only bad seats are one up in the corners, thoses are sketchy and not great.

Jan 05, 2024 09:34 PM #32

@kjayhawks no such thing as bad seats. Just some are better than others. (The bleacher seats in the corners are not great.)

Jan 06, 2024 06:49 PM #33

We made it!

Jan 06, 2024 06:50 PM #34

@kjayhawks Picture? Have fun!

Jan 06, 2024 07:18 PM #35

@mayjay won’t let me post them

Jan 06, 2024 07:58 PM #36

@kjayhawks Hope you are enjoying, close game so far

Jan 07, 2024 06:15 PM #37

It was a long day but a fun one, was worried the roads maybe hard but they were good til we got close to Lawrence. I believe we are now 13-1 in games I’ve attended so I can’t be called bad luck haha. Least favorite part was the traffic leaving.

Jan 07, 2024 08:30 PM #38

@kjayhawks You might try parking in some college kids yard a few blocks away to avoid most of the traffic. (If the fam is up for the walk)

Jan 07, 2024 09:09 PM #39

@dylans ya I paid $40 for lot 90, next will do yards like in the past. Wife has a broken toe and in a boot so walking wasn’t in the cards this time.

Jan 07, 2024 10:30 PM #40

@kjayhawks Glad you got to see a fun game!
