504 entries the 1st day portal opened. -- The Big 12 has taken a huge hit in the portal. I think his name is Jake Droll and host podcast called Locked on Big 12, he brings up some pretty good points about the portal.

He says it is gotten to the point that like the Big 12 is like a double AA farm system , these kids play here for a couple of yrs, then hit the portal and work the NIL to the bigger named schools - BIG & sec like Triple AAA - - ot to far off thinking that, can't beleive how many some Big 12 tems have lost.

Cinncinati - -24 players , - -K/State - -18 players - -Iowa State - 13 players - -TCU ,UCF , & Texas Tech all each have lost 12 players - -in total the big 12 so far hs lost 100 players to the portal -- just crazy

Update- -K/State just lost another one - big loss losing starting LB Savage - -WOW. Their fans think something going on in their program hmmmm , maybe

@jayballer67 I pretty much said this on the original post about the latest conference realignment. Everyone will be minor leagues for the B10 and SEC. If I’m not mistaken 13 of the top 14 teams in the current CFP standings will be in those conferences next season, most already are.

@jayballer67 to be fair, I don't think all of K-State's losses can be attributed to football.

Many are leaving for another livestock judging school or the rodeo circuit.

Gage Keys is entering the portal as a graduate transfer. He played in all the games and has a high number of snaps. Thoughts?

Are you sure about that buddy? - -Cause that's what that ruling by the judge did that restraining order which made it possible for a multi time player be eligible to play without having to sit out a yr. Going to hve another hearing on the 27th of December, but they said it would be surprising if it's changed back.- This ruling allows a transfer to do exactly that without having to sit a yr. I know this is in Basaketball concerning Raquen Battle that is at West Virginia but his is now eligible without having to sit out, I'm sure this pertains to football also , as they were saying how it's going to change things drastically.

@jayballer67 yes. The ruling only applies to basketball players seeking waivers, and only until the 27th pending appeal.

Not going to happen for quite awhile, if ever. Just the logistics are impossible to make work, legal issues aside

I think so far we have had three go. -but will probably be more, talk of possibly Booker , maybe , maybe Robinson --not many. Some talk of Bryant - - Then very rea chance we lose Devin, not to portal but NFL draft -- 50/50 chance would love to have him back , but if the Money is there - -go to run with it while you an. Average NFL running back life is like 3- 4 years

Interesting stat just came out today on how important the NIL values are. Arch Manning, the Texas longhorns 3rd string QB roped in over 3 million dollars this season. Brock Purdy the QB for the 49ers will make 870k this season and are Super Bowl favorites right now.

@kjayhawks It's all in the name. "Mr. Irrelevant" versus "Manning" isn't likely to command as much respect or as many Benjamins.

NCAA is allowing multi-transfer athletes who transfer by the end of this year to play immediately next fall.

@FarmerJayhawk Depth is gonna become a major issue in college football. Within the next few season lots of teams will have trouble going two deep. Which very important on the defensive line and linebacker spot.

One player not going anywhere is Cobee Bryant. Just announced about 20 minutes ago he's returning for his senior season.

Really happy about Cobee coming back.

I see that KJ Jefferson is transferring to UCF too.

A request: Would it be possible please for anyone posting about someone transferring (other than a KU player) to just add what school they are leaving? It saves having to do search after search by those of us not familiar with dozens and dozens of other schools' rosters!

KJ Jefferson is the quarterback for Arkansas. KU played him in last year's bowl.

I wonder how many players will transfer to UCF now that they are in the B12. Kids like theme parks.

I've got it all figured out.

From now on, transfers will only be sanctioned in the athlete's freshman and sophomore years. They can still transfer after that, but no NIL.

Lawrence Arnold is sticking around. He had some big schools try to pry him away.

Not necessarily a starter (we can't afford one tbh) but an experienced backup that can provide depth in case of injury. As of now we're really thin along the OL and an injury would be catastrophic.

Alabama’s starting center just hit the portal, let’s go get him.

DL is another position to add depth.

Boy Howdy--Afte their game the other night , didn't take long for the flood gates to open for Alabama. I'm so happy , I can't stand Saban --Alabama in the period of FIFTHTEEN minutes had nine players enter the portal. - -A LOT of talent leaving Saban.

Michigan has a guy who's free to leave now because of Harbaugh leaving and he has a great combo name of Mason Graham. All that was great about two of our heros rolled into one football player!
