Any recommendations? Must have games in your collection? This year i want to trade some of the games we never play for something fresh.

I bought a couple copies of Camel Up recently, one to replace our warn out copy and one to stash for gifting. Highly recommend. Its over, but Target has had a BOGO half off sale on board games last 2 years after Christmas, and they stock Camel Up.

If you want a cute little auction game thats still in print I recommend For Sale.

@approxinfinity I wish my son was part of this conversation. He is a board game fanatic. Him and his friends will sometimes play 12 hours on a Saturday or Sunday. He literally has a whole room full of games.

@nuleafjhawk could you convince him to come join us?

@approxinfinity Any specific genres? Co-op, shorter or longer games?

This could be a fun thread, I like it @approxinfinity. I have always enjoyed games with strategy like monopoly, Risk and Catan. Risk is probably my favorite we would play it all the time growing up with me and my 4 brothers. It got pretty intense and punches were thrown several times lol. I liked Clue when I was younger, with my kids being elementary age we play a lot of Jenga, Sorry and Mario party on the switch which is pretty much a big board game.

@approxinfinity he's not a big sports fan.

But he loves his board games!

@Texas-Hawk-10 well i have two teens and a 6 year old, so ideally i am interested in stuff engaging to all 4 of us. The most complicated we might get is something like Wingspan or Caverna but we tend to play shorter games. I will say though that I am interested in playing a little longer games now that the youngest can handle it. We have recently been playing Clank, a deck builder, dungeon diver. That went pretty well, but I think the replayability of Clank may be limited.

A few more words of praise for Camel Up. It sounds like something you guys might enjoy based upon the games you listed @kjayhawks . You are betting on camels and every round you can bet on which one you think will be in front at rounds end. Each camel has a die that is rolled each round but the order the dice come out is random and the camels can stack, so one camel can carry others! Its a sneaky math and probability game. Simple enough to be fun for all ages.
