I'm a weird soccer fan. I pay attention to college soccer, but really not premier/Liga type things. Anyways the lady Jayhawks are ranked...barely, but off to a good start. I wish I was nearby to watch some matches and I wish the men had a team. Title 9 casualty I guess?
I really don't pay attention to volleyball but I know some of you do so you could use this to update that team.

I'm so glad you posted this, some seem to believe that our Basketball and Football are all that matters- - ---& that's fine I have no problem what so ever with that, & I'm right there with them However I started following the Volleyball team several years back and our Soccer a few years back and both represent KU very well
Mercy the Volley ball is very exciting some really athletic ladies , very talented. Just to fill you in on them the Volleyball was actually predicted to win the Big 12 last season and have been making the NCAA tourney pretty regular- - was ranked in the top 25 last year and pre-season like $ 12 or 13 this season they are good. - - New Coach this year after our Coach retired after like 26 yrs gonna be missed but we pulled the Oregon Coach away so don't think any let down as Oregon always has a good team also. They open play ?Saturday also at Like 3 o'clock right there somewhere I'm sure on ESPN Plus fun to watch , looking forward to it.
As far as the Soccer ladies , we actuall y made the NCAA tourney last year , and we won the Big Twelve Tourney, now there are some ladies that got some stamia I tell you one or two trips up and down the pitch I'd be done lol-- anothr really good team & yes opened with a 5-2 win- - Thanks for posting this really appreciated- -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG
We follow ALL KU sports in our home. Now that we don't have to root against Texas, we keep up with all the activity. New VB Coach has brought some bangers. I played volleyball in City leagues - had sand, inside, mixed, and just women, and have a tremendous love for the sport. Austin has sand courts and are always hosting matches. The CW channel also shows the men's and women's sand contests. Takes a lot of strength to only play 2. Loved Kerri Walsh and Misty Mae Traener. Just a perfect team.
Big soccer match tonight against Florida State, ranked 6th. It's on ESPN+ at 7:00
FSU ranked 2nd in country was outplayed in the first half, but managed to strike first anyways, but KU equalized it about 10 minutes later and it was scoreless the rest of the way. I'd say it's a very good result even if they didn't get the W. FSU was a bunch of crybabies as KU played very physically but cleanly.

I watched first half. Womens soccer dominated both halves, winning 4 nil. Yale never stood a chance. 5-0-2 so far. Ranked 22, should be 7-0-2 going into conference play.
Womens soccer is undefeated entering conference play. 6-0-2 record. 21st ranking. First conference test vs. OSU Thursday.
A great road victory at OSU. KU player got booked for a red card a bit unfairly IMHO halfway thru the first half. Early in the 2nd half KU, despite playing a man down scored a beautiful goal and they controlled the ball much of the way. This is a really solid squad. 7-0-2 right now. 19th ranked for now. Hopefully continuing to improve.
The KU side goes against Baylor tonight at 6. Ranked anywhere from 8th to 14th in the various polls. KU is 15-1-3 in their last 19 matches, pretty phenomenal. It's on ESPN+ if anyone has nothing else to do.
Whoa, I watched the first half as we peppered their goal with tons of missed shots and then a 2nd point blank missed shot in the 2nd half and Baylor barely had any good looks BUT connected on them and won 3 nil. Really demoralizing, as balls on frame will rebound and 2nd chances abound, but when you whiff on even hitting the goal from 10 yards and in, well you don't deserve to win or be ranked.
Two game losing streak is over. 4-1 blasting of KState.
Guys , you know what ? When you look at our ladies volley ball record for the first glance you could think to yourself well -- -- - -they have had an eh season, they are 12 -- -7 - - -3 - --2 in Conference so ya under normal conditions that's just an average year
Then when you look again when you see that ALL of their losses have come to ranked teams and I think five of those losses have went the full five games - -that's pretty dam good, We do have a really good team. you just have to consider - --really young squad and a first year Coach and yet we have still done that well
KU as lost to these ranked teams : # 2 - - - # 8 ( two separate * 8 )- - - -* 12's again two separate teams )--- * 17 -- -- & * 18
We have beaten the * 15---- & * 23rd ranked teams, The Ladies have done just fine
Just got through watching our # 14 ranked Ladies Sweep # 10 TCU.-- -TCU beat us earlier in the year 3-1- tonight out turn.- --28-26 - -25-16-- -& --25-21

@Crimsonorblue22 me too I've been kinda tardy this season and hated missing but they looked pretty strong last night. I think them playing this super rough non con schedule playing ranked team after team after team will help a lot - -I have no doubt we are making the tourney with our strength odf Schedule with who we have played and yet to play. Ranked teams almost every time out
Tough loss against KSU
Haven't watched volleyball at all, but have caught quite a bit of soccer action. 6-3-1 big 12 record. 12-3-2 overall. Weird trip to Utah. 2 matches in 4 days means a 5 day stay in the beehive state. The win over BYU was exhilarating as BYU, a top 10 team most of the year tried to mount a comeback from down 3-nil. KU gave up 1 goal, but under an intense barrage for the last 20 minutes the defense held strong. Big 12 tournament is next. It will surprise no one if KU repeats as conference tournament champs, but it's a pretty tall task.

How about that! The women come back from a 0-1 deficit against 12th ranked Colorado and 3rd seed in the tournament and defeat the Bovines 2-1. Spectacular finish to tie the match early in the 2nd and then with 15 a youngster got her first collegiate goal, kind of an own goal actually as it was deflected past the goalie.
This is a really strong KU team, despite their 7th seed in the tournament. They have a 14-4-3, with a tie against 2nd ranked FSU. They have a prolific offense and have shown remarkable comeback ability. They play 8th seeded BYU in the conference championship, you read that right. They were ranked until we beat them (read about that match just above).
Colorado was 5th in the RPI and we're 9th. Didn't realize there's a college soccer RPI.

Was watching Baylor /Utah volley Ball this afternoon found out some interesting stat today, The big twelve has the NUMBER ONE----RPI in the entire Nation ---- -eight teams in the top twenty five
Arizona State is first in the league , then KU & I believe Iowa State are tied for 2nd- -both I think have three losses in league

Yes!! Except for the misplayed ball they overwhelmed Cal Baptist. Enthusiastic crowd out at Rock Chalk Park. We don't play again until the 20th, either Louisville or Kentucky...the NCAA likes enticing matchups even in soccer. Unfortunately for the locals that round is in Durham, then it says 'campus sites' for the next round. If the seeds hold we should be favorites against either. Then maybe a 3rd round match with #1 ND...just down the road in South Bend? Fingers crossed!

The KU women’s basketball had a solid win over Minnesota last night at the field house 63-57. Minnesota was basically the 30th ranked team in the land getting votes in both polls. They got a tune up against ORL Sunday then a tough test against Georgia next week.
Soccer clearly outplaying 2nd seeded Duke in Durham. KU has the most road wins in the nation in the last two seasons!
Amazing when this happens, but Duke finally gets an offensive push and they cash in for a cheap goal. 1-0 near halftime.
