How to sign up for ESPN plus/select/unlimited
Oct 28, 2025 11:42 PM #1

Hey, all.
So, all of a sudden ESPN is making it impossible to figure out how to find and sign up for ESPN plus. Anybody done that recently and know how? Send a link?

I've done this for like 30 years and they've effed everything up! ha. I know they are pushing like ESPN Unlimited and bundles, but i just want to sign up again for the simple ESPN+ content.

Hurting my tiny brain! thx.

Oct 28, 2025 11:47 PM #2

Typical dog crap audio from the plus

Oct 28, 2025 11:49 PM #3

Jesus, it took me an hour to figure this out! I'm dumb, but not that dumb. You want my money, ESPN??? Make it easier for me to give it to you! ha

Oddly they wouldn't let me sign up on my desktop, but had to log in to my phone to see the ESPN+ plan.
So effed up.

I've had ESPN plus for about 5 years and I have no idea how I'm paying for it. No Disney bundle. Doesn't show up on my credit card statement. Can't cancel it or change payment method. I literally can't do anything but sign in with my email and password. So I'm not rocking the boat. Good luck!

Oct 29, 2025 01:45 AM #5

I hear ya on that. Yet I just went to Kansas Athletics site -- - pulled up our schedule and it shows how it is being broadcast --ESPN plus BAM ther you go takes you right to the game , that's the way I did it most of the year last yr too. Of course I have has ESPN plus for a couple of years so didn't need to subscribe but pretty easy bud

How does one build an app that gets shittier every year? Amazing.

@approxinfinity and keeps going up in price

ESPN ran out of money. Had to fire tons of people. Thus no pre or post game for KU games anymore - that’s my biggest complaint so far. Spent too much on buying rights of games to hire people to cover them. Unfortunately it’s games I’ll never watch - (anything other than KU or Chiefs is off my radar) Bidding on sports rights nearly sank a couple companies, but not winning the bid would. If they’d just figure out they’re running the price up on themselves they could cut costs - no need for a bigger contract if they collude - like the wayNFL running backs are paid.

Oct 30, 2025 05:24 PM #10

Here's how bad ESPN is getting. If you go to their website right now the top story (this is on a computer, not a phone, but probably the same there) is the top women's teams for this season. Nothing about the world series until you scroll pass soccer, tennis, womens hoops, NBA. I wish I could say I'm not watching ESPN again, but football and college hoops so I must.

But to act like people don't care about the World Series is so short sided on their part. 32 million viewers watched game 1 world wide. If it goes 7 games and they throw Shohei again, see what those ratings are then. 12 million of those were US viewers which is kind of low I guess but those college games since Caitlin graduated? Back down to a little more than a million.

Rob Manfred is part of the viewership problem for baseball I believe. He will not try to compete with NFL football. Last week game 7 of the ALCS was on FS1, not Fox which was showing cartoons. Can you imagine letting fox show cartoons instead of your league when you're the commissioner and you have a broadcasting agreement with Fox? I admit I don't have the knowledge of how this all works, but baseball alienates fans who want to watch their team so much it's unbelievable. Blackout rules (I got MLB subscription this year and couldn't watch the sox, local team on it), horrible postseason scheduling decisions, and a refusal to air important playoff games on free over the air TV are the biggest gripe I've got. They're heading towards another lockout in the 2027 season over salary cap issues which will damage them even further.

Oct 31, 2025 04:14 AM #11

And there’s more ESPN drama for those of us with YouTube TV…

They’ve reached a contract stalemate. We can no longer access any Disney or ESPN channel!!!

Mother effers. So freaking stupid and unfriendly to the consumer. It’s a trend lately.

Grrrrr.

Oct 31, 2025 01:55 PM #12

@rockchalkjayhawk I just looked at the list of channels that have been nuked from YouTube. I believe I counted 21 channels. All the ESPN channels and ABC were the ones that particularly got my attention.

I wish I was an all outdoorsy off the grid person who didn't rely on TV. But I'm not. This will be super fun.

Oct 31, 2025 02:01 PM #13

Hulu tv still has all the ESPNs for similar money.

Oct 31, 2025 02:23 PM #14

@dylans I just re-signed ESPN+ before football season (thinking KU might be respectable this year). I am tagging along on my son's Hulu account but he's going to drop Hulu maybe this weekend. So I guess I'll have to figure out how to bundle Hulu and ESPN+ and not get charged for ESPN+ twice.

I should go back to listening on the radio. Until they start charging for that.

Oct 31, 2025 05:14 PM #15

@nuleafjhawk it gets expensive getting all the different services. I only have Hulu live tv for sports. In the offseason it goes away. There are less expensive options, but they’re a bit shady.

Oct 31, 2025 06:51 PM #16

Went to watch channel 7 news at 10 last night. I always watch it on delay when it's convenient. No news last night. Gone from my YouTube tv.

Oct 31, 2025 06:52 PM #17

I signed up for espn+ standalone for 12 bucks a month on disney site last night. I thought i recalled not being able to do that last time i checked. So maybe too many people werent ready to pay for their bundles

Oct 31, 2025 07:22 PM #18

@wissox I guess those stations are ABC.

Oct 31, 2025 07:32 PM #19

Disney owns ESPN and Hulu. It's absolutely shocking that they might do something that would perhaps send people from YouTubeTV to Hulu for their live sports. Shocking I tell you

Oct 31, 2025 08:15 PM #20

Is there a person (besides DJT) or business whose only function is to conspire to piss off KU & KC sports fans? I need an address please.

Oct 31, 2025 10:22 PM #21

@nuleafjhawk Just Beetlejuice, as far as I know. But he is happy to piss off everybody.

Nov 01, 2025 12:48 AM #22

Update: just realized that espn and espn 2 links in espn+ app dont work. Greedy, greedy asshats.

Nov 01, 2025 01:03 AM #23

@approxinfinity so us dumbasses with YouTube won't get to watch the opener Monday night?

Nov 01, 2025 01:06 AM #24

@nuleafjhawk ESPN+ isn’t affected

Nov 01, 2025 01:16 AM #25

@FarmerJayhawk but isn't Monday's game on regular ESPN? Which I don't think I have access to through ESPN+

Nov 01, 2025 01:18 AM #26

Thats how im interpreting it @nuleafjhawk

Nov 01, 2025 01:43 AM #27

@nuleafjhawk it’s on ESPN+. There’s about a 0% chance they’d show KU vs. a nobody over Monday Night Football

Nov 01, 2025 01:43 PM #28

Self said regarding Peterson's leg issue "we can figure how to address it and then he'll take it seriously in addressing it because that could be the same way Monday. It could be the same way next Friday (NC). It could be the same way moving forward." Self says if he can only play 14 minutes that won't be good enough to win big games. Self wants to nip it in the bud now to avoid it going forward. What does cramping and tightness exactly mean anyway? Calling it an issue but not an injury is good I guess. Cramping and tightness are not the same thing medically. One is a sharp pain and persistent tightness is a feeling of being bound or stiff. A muscle strain is considered an injury but I haven't heard them say that.

Nov 01, 2025 01:47 PM #29

@Zabudda Peterson's situation is causing me cramping and tightness. Same can be said for YouTube TV and Disney 😡🤬

Nov 01, 2025 03:38 PM #30

Sounds like the same type of thing as a tight (not pulled) calf muscle. I had to take it very easy on mine for several weeks back in my prehistoric running days to avoid pulling the gastrocnemius. It is mind-bending because it can require trying to be conscious of every step up or down to keep your foot from angling too much. I'd imgine similar restrictions for a tight hammy or quad until it is safe to engage in normal stretching.

Wow it’s $12 for espn+ alone? I think we’re still at $15 with Disney+ and Hulu. Paramount, ESPN+, HULU live TV, Peacock, Disney+…. A la carte to death.

Nov 01, 2025 04:01 PM #32

@approxinfinity I like you was ESPN plus by it'self, been that way for years and still haven't had to buy anything else

So it's been pretty easy for me, I just go to the Ku athletics site pull up the schedule and it list what place the game is being shown on click my ESPN Plus and bi Zinga there it is - -still haven't had to buy anything more.

If you already got ESPN Plus your good to go

$12.99 actually

Nov 01, 2025 04:59 PM #34

@dylans hm i think the bundle was like 30 so thats when i said “gtfo”. Espn is the only thing of value to me in that bundle, so the two are basically synonymous to me.

Nov 01, 2025 06:58 PM #35

You realize that the $30 packages is the espn unlimited package that includes all the live ESPN channels, not just ESPN+, correct? Not apples to apples. That’s actually a great deal as it would make it where I don’t have to get Hulu tv live or YouTube tv to see most games.

Nov 01, 2025 07:09 PM #36

@dylans so considering the espn and espn 2 games are listed inside the app but currently dont work this feels like a moving target. I have no idea what espn+ is other than a dystopian money grab.

Nov 01, 2025 08:06 PM #37

@approxinfinity ESPN+ is just the online streaming content. But if you have a cable subscription you can link it and use espn annd espn2 are there.

Nov 01, 2025 10:32 PM #38

Every commercial break on espn- for this football game has had zero commercials and a sign that says “commercial break”. I guess disney scared all its ad revenue away? Brilliant! Lets pass that loss on to the consumer.

So whatever happened to the Big 12 network????

I'd pay for that if it showed KU games. How much does it cost to produce and air a show?

Nov 02, 2025 01:05 AM #41

TNT is airing a lot of big 12 games

Nov 02, 2025 02:28 PM #42

I almost started this thread before the last game. I know one thing… sign up per month because if you do it annually that money is gone! I’m probably going to drop it after this run of games on ESPN+. I say that but I see ESPN and YouTube TV aren’t compatible right now!

Nov 02, 2025 03:51 PM #43

Is anyone currently using the Hulu Live TV streaming package? It's got 95 channels (ABC plus all the ESPN's) and Disney+ and ESPN+. $65 month for 3 months then $85 after that. Which is less than I'm paying now for YouTube TV

Nov 02, 2025 03:55 PM #44

@nuleafjhawk Yes. But only use it for Ku basketball and Chiefs games. I have no idea about the other channels, I don’t watch live tv if it’s not sports.

As for those games, when paired with peacock and espn+, I think that covers them all. (Maybe paramount+ too)

Nov 02, 2025 04:09 PM #45

@dylans So, are you happy with what you're using it for? I've been a big proponent of YouTube TV for years, but their prices have climbed steadily and they seem to have these contracts disputes too often. Was it last year or the year before when CBS was on the chopping block with them?

Nov 02, 2025 04:13 PM #46

@nuleafjhawk

And FOX 2 years ago.

I have no complaints. It works for what I need it to do. And the contract is month to month so not much of a commitment.

Nov 02, 2025 11:40 PM #48

I nuked YouTube TV today (Not literally) and went with Hulu Live Tv/Disney+ and ESPN+ , for the same price as YouTube. I hope it works out. If nothing else I can watch the ESPN channels and ABC

Nov 03, 2025 02:02 PM #49

@nuleafjhawk Cool! Let us know how that works out. I'm youtube tv. I also do Netflix... would be nice to save a few bucks. I also use Plex. It's my favorite for movies and most tv programs.

Nov 03, 2025 03:20 PM #50

@nuleafjhawk LMK what you think. It works adequately for me, but I’m just in it for the sports.

Nov 04, 2025 12:36 AM #51

Slight update to dispute.

UPDATED with YouTube TV statement. YouTube TV has rejected Disney‘s request to restore ABC for Election Day on Tuesday as a matter of “public interest” while the companies hammer out a carriage renewal.

Nov 04, 2025 12:57 AM #52

So, I've only had the HULU LIVE package for one day, but I think it will work well. It's got all the same channels (plus or minus a couple of oddballs)
, plus it comes with Disney +, ESPN+ (and all the ESPN channels). All that is the same price as what I paid for YT alone.

I'm not a fan of Disney, but as I told one person, I don't want to cut off my nose to spite my face. The money is coming out of my account, regardless of who's taking it, and Disney gives me all the channels I want.

The only possible downside is that HULU isn't formatted the same as YT, but that will just be a matter of using it and getting used to a new style.

Nov 04, 2025 01:04 PM #53

@nuleafjhawk I don’t like the interface for Hulu tv, but it seems to have the channels I need. Best of luck!

Nov 04, 2025 04:14 PM #54

Jeez, woke up this morning and the YTTV app simply won’t work. Can’t even log in. Maybe that’s a sign to go in a new direction?

Nov 04, 2025 05:12 PM #55

@nuleafjhawk If anyone has Verizon cell service, they offer a $10/month access.

Nov 04, 2025 05:54 PM #56

@Gorilla72 Tell me more, please

Nov 05, 2025 04:44 AM #57

@nuleafjhawk What I like on youtube tv is the virtual hard drive. Save us much junk as you want without regard to disk space. How does HULU work?

Nov 05, 2025 01:52 PM #58

@drgnslayr So, I'm not super techno-savvy. That is to say I can operate the remote control well most of the time. I had YT for 7 or 8 years (?) and was pretty familiar with it. From what I understand, I can do the same things with Hulu, but the layout looks different. I believe I read that you can record whatever you like, but it's only stored for 9 months. Then there's some sort of re-birth (Sorry. 9 months.....)

If anyone has better information, please chime in. I don't want to be giving out bad Intel.

I guess to summarize - I can watch basically the same things as I did on YT. I also get Disney+ and ESPN+ for the same price as what I paid for YT alone. Now I think I'll grab a cup of coffee and watch ABC.

Nov 05, 2025 04:30 PM #59

@nuleafjhawk - Verizon is my cell carrier. In this area, Tulsa, they offer various perks. We added Netflix/HBO and Disney/Hulu/ESPN+ for $10/mo each. If you have Verizon, the My Verizon site (or app) allows subscription sign up. We sign in via Disney to get the basketball games and Hulu (we don’t particularly care for Disney stuff). Does this help?

Nov 05, 2025 04:37 PM #60

@Gorilla72 thank you! Is the $10 month thing on Hulu. Hulu Live TV or just the regular Hulu?

Nov 05, 2025 09:15 PM #61

@nuleafjhawk - It appears to be regular Hulu. I haven’t explored it much because we like to binge watch tv series, and ESPN+. It does not get regular ESPN.

Nov 05, 2025 10:19 PM #62

@Gorilla72 OK. Great! Thank you very much for your input!

Nov 08, 2025 05:20 AM #65

Well surprise, surprise!

i was about to sign up for a free trial for Sling to watch the UNC game, but at the last minute i logged onto the ESPN app to triple check it wasn't on ESPN+.

To my utter shock, it WAS on the ESPN app. ESPN3 to be exact. In Spanish!! So, i somehow go to watch the game, although i could only understand when the announcers said BeeDuuunga!

Nov 08, 2025 01:19 PM #66

I am getting $$crwed$$

Paying $89 for YouTube and not getting ESPN

Signed up for ESPN+ but it does not show ESPN games....

Nov 08, 2025 01:59 PM #67

@AsadZ I was in the exact same boat. I dropped YT and went with Hulu Live TV. They throw in Disney + and ESPN +. All three of those for the same price as YT. (Maybe $5 less?) I did this last Sunday and it's great so far.

Nov 08, 2025 02:13 PM #68

@AsadZ I got fed up with YTTV's interface and worrying about having to scramble every time they are fighting with someone. Although I already have a sub to ESPN+, I decided to get the Hulu with live TV, Dis+, and ESPN Select. They gave me a credit for the cost of ESPN+ due to the duplication. So, just about the same price.

I then paused YTTV for 2 months so in case I don't like the new package, I can just cancel the Hulu stuff and restart YTTV without losing any recordings or settings. More 4K stuff, too, I think.

Yea, ESPN+ in theory doesn’t have the live ESPN networks, just content they decide to put on +.

You’d have to step up ESPN Unlimited to access those channels.

It’s hard to keep track, but ESPN has recently launched a tiered streaming only service.

@nuleafjhawk just the jerkoffs that I block.

Politics in sports is flat retarded. I don’t care about your political viewpoint or LeBron’s. It just makes me like you and all your viewpoints less. It muddies up the waters and adds another layer of bias.
