Royals v O's game 4
Oct 15, 2014 07:45 PM #1

Hope like the dickens this is the "sweet sweeper" today !! On the bright side, we haven't suffered near as long as those poor Cubs fans. Sorry Harry, I just couldn't help myself.

@brooksmd maybe if the stars align we can get hooked up on some tix. I called Steve an hour ago & says Pryor told him the same thing again today-if the seats he gets are not to his liking, he'll sell them for face value. Since they are comp tix from the Royals ball club he cannot sell them for any more than that. He's sure as H spoiled cause I thought the view level seats behind 3rd last nite were PDG. Only ones I've ever had for playoffs back in the day were beyond the fences & those really aren't that good.. Also Trevor may have some tix for the same price-his are comp also, Keep the fingers crossed-they gotta take care of biz first !!

Oct 15, 2014 08:31 PM #4

Need to keep that shade line there for the O's.

Oct 15, 2014 08:32 PM #5

@brooksmd That damn BUD commercial gets to me every time. The way that Lab whimpers so sadly is exactly what Woody used to do to get his way with us. I justfinished mowing his pasture about an hour ago. We're talking like maybe bringing a friend home with us after the holidays. We'll have more time to devote then.

Oct 15, 2014 08:33 PM #6

Does anyone know where you can watch the game online? My communist boss doesn't think he should send people home (or to the bar) to watch the game. I guess he's probably right - they DO go to the World Series every 30 years or so.....

Oct 15, 2014 08:37 PM #7

@nuleafjhawk No. TBS is streaming but they want your cable provider.

@brooksmd Thank you - I tried that, but danged if I can remember my Cox password/ID

Oct 15, 2014 08:47 PM #9

Nothing beats being at the ballpark, but watching at home means 3 bathrooms and no line. (beer)

Oct 15, 2014 08:47 PM #10

@nuleafjhawk Last weekend at the lake I had to follow it on the iphone/ foxsports game trax. No stream for me either. Did get to see the last 3 innings of the 1st game & 1st couple of the second game back at the hotel,

Oct 15, 2014 08:49 PM #11

OOPS! As long as their solo dingers we can live with them.

Oct 15, 2014 09:01 PM #12

Dang it. Keep waiting for Butler to add his name to the HR column.

Oct 15, 2014 09:10 PM #13

Half way home.

Oct 15, 2014 09:10 PM #14

@brooksmd As long as Vargas keeps getting the low strike calls he needs to keep throwing to them like they're farmers-make em swing at s#*t in the dirt.

Oct 15, 2014 09:22 PM #15

@Crimsonorblue22 You're late for the party. (beer)

Oct 15, 2014 09:23 PM #16

GORDO!!!

Oct 15, 2014 09:23 PM #17

@globaljaybird I told my son last night I thought some of those pitches were just below his knees, but as you know sometimes one has to adjust ones games to a refs calls that game.

Oct 15, 2014 09:25 PM #18

@globaljaybird If the ump is consistent I don't have a problem. Don't know if you saw the end of the TCU/Baylor game but TCU got the ref shaft.

Oct 15, 2014 09:26 PM #19

Had an apt, who knew we'd be playing at this time a month ago!!! I'm caught up, called my son on way home.. What a catch by gordo!!! We ready!!!

Oct 15, 2014 10:38 PM #26

Come on boys lets make it a bit easier for Holland in the 9th.

Oct 15, 2014 10:41 PM #27

@brooksmd love to see Gore run💨

Oct 15, 2014 10:53 PM #28

Gonna put a lot of pressure on Holland with 3-4-5 hitters. Too nervous to hold my beer.

Oct 15, 2014 10:53 PM #29

Interesting that sans the wild wild card game the 2007 Rockies did the same thing these Royals are doing. Swept their way to the World Series. I hope this isn't an omen however because that team then got swept in an ugly World Series.

My White Sox swept the defending champ Red Sox in 05, then lost a game and then won 8 in a row for the World Series championship. 11-1 in the postseason, but the east coast media yawned because they were wearing the wrong color sox. SI put the patriots on the cover (except in chicago) that week even though it'd been 86 years since we'd last won the series.

So what I'm saying Royals fans is be prepared for a collective national yawn, although I hope I'm wrong.

Oct 15, 2014 10:55 PM #30

@wissoxfan83 not happening!!!

Oct 15, 2014 11:04 PM #31

Oct 15, 2014 11:14 PM #37

Oct 15, 2014 11:18 PM #38

@globaljaybird yeah!!! More fun!!

Oct 15, 2014 11:20 PM #39

Oct 15, 2014 11:41 PM #40

@wissoxfan83 How's that, less than 3.5 hrs?

Oct 15, 2014 11:43 PM #41

@brooksmd longer time to celebrate!

Oct 16, 2014 01:02 AM #42

@wissoxfan83 Isn't a greater sports town in America than Chicago. Payton, Jordan, Soldier Field, Cominsky, Wrigley, Ernie Banks Harry Caray-you name it they got it. Doubt if KC will just get blown off on this one though. America loves the underdog & no one expected them to even win the wildcard game v John Lester. Their defense is making this an enjoyable view even in long & boring 2-1 wins. Their bullpen is full of heaters making the late innings the ultimate challenge & matchup for the all of the mashers they've so far dispatched. A close friend is a professional photographer who shoots Royals, Chiefs, BG 12, KU, Sporting KC, Nascar, etc. If he has some good shots online will try to figure out how to post them. He often has publishing's in SI, USA Today, Sporting News, & Fox Sports copies. Should you ever see the credits, his name is Jeff Moffit & his photography website is moffpix.com. Have known Jeff about 20 years now & is a great Christian man, husband & Father & downright good guy. One of the brightest & most genuine people I've ever met. And by the way, he's one helluva photographer too !!

Oct 16, 2014 01:09 AM #43

@wissoxfan83 Don't know if this is a true story-probably not but a funny one anyway.

I always heard the reason the Cards fired Harry Caray was that one day he said on the air during a game. "I swear that couple in the left field bleachers today must be newlyweds. He's kissing her on all the strikes & she's kissing him on the balls !!"

Even if it's BS that's flippin hilarious no matter where you come from !!

Oct 16, 2014 01:15 AM #44

@brooksmd We likely matchup better with St Louis but I don't want them getting any thunder whatsoever from this. Let em get their headlines from elsewhere like Ferguson & not from KC. Probably not PC to say that, but was just a slip of the lip as Mother Jaybird used to say...hush !

Oct 16, 2014 01:20 AM #45

@globaljaybird Our parents were far more intelligent as we got older.

Oct 16, 2014 01:53 AM #46

Brooks,
My father often said, the older he got, the smarter his dad got.

Congrats Royals. And a shout out to dad-you must be smiling up there.. All those games you listened to the Royals on the radio working in the garage on weekends. The I-70 series. And best yet your night in the Buck O'Neil seat.

Oct 16, 2014 02:24 AM #47

So Brooks you gonna take JNewells role and run the live blog here for the World Series? Should be fun!

Oct 16, 2014 02:26 AM #48

Even though we are a small group, we've been having fun!!!

Oct 16, 2014 03:07 AM #49

@wissoxfan83 I don't know about that. But I'm sure between me, @globaljaybird or @Crimsonorblue22 , one of us will open a thread for each game and we'll be there supporting the Royal's.

@Crimsonorblue22 BTW, it's your fault I'm dry tonight. It was those 2 you had me do for you last night that did me in.

Oct 16, 2014 03:15 AM #50

@brooksmd ha ha!!!!

Oct 16, 2014 03:22 AM #51

@wissoxfan83 IMO no one better. I think he should if he has the time & would like it. JMO.

Oct 16, 2014 03:25 AM #52

@globaljaybird Hope nobody starts that bus.

Oct 16, 2014 03:26 AM #53

@brooksmd OK bud, I can't resist...

Prior proper planning prevents piss poor performance.

For some odd reason I believe you've heard this before.

Oct 17, 2014 03:21 AM #54

@JayhawkRock78_ Is a frog's ass waterproof ?!

Oct 17, 2014 06:06 AM #55

Guys, do you realize that this Forum has a "chat" capability (upper right hand corner next to your avatar)? It would be the ideal vehicle for comments during games.

Oct 18, 2014 04:59 AM #56

Royals and Jayhawks, heard some chiefs were there too

Oct 18, 2014 05:16 AM #57

@Crimsonorblue22

I saw part of the game and at one time Chalmers and Rush were both in the court, although Rush did not play much and left early with a back spasm. It will be interesting to see if Mario regains his starting spot; it would be tough for him not to start after being the starting PG for the NBA Dream Team that won two championships; he did play well in the game, no doubt the crowd provide a much needed pick me up.

Oct 18, 2014 09:01 PM #58

This is awesome, if you love the Royals!

Oct 18, 2014 10:28 PM #59

@Crimsonorblue22 Great video.

Oct 18, 2014 10:49 PM #60

@brooksmd gave me goosebumps!
