THREE YEARS AGO TODAY
Feb 25, 2015 07:25 PM #1

The most exciting, meaningful, incredible game was played three years ago today.

The video begins at the start of Overtime.

Greatest 40 seconds of basketball for Taylor as a Jayhawk.

Best out of bounds play at the most important moment.

Best Smile on Kevin Young's face when he is put in for the last 8.3 seconds.

Most satisfaction as a Jayhawk fan for a Field House game.

My favorite Jayhawk team of all time.

Conner Teahan, 5th year walk on who could have been a D1 quarterback or he could have taken a scholarship offer to play at Wichita State in Basketball, instead he waits his time and goes 4 for 4 from three against Mizzou. He also played in the National Championship game that same year.

Thanks Lumpy- After watching that I am in a GREAT mood.

@wrwlumpy

Great, great call!

We need to get our current team over here to look at that. Just study the speed, energy and determination of that Jayhawk team. These young pups need to know where the bar is set for wearing the Kansas uniform.

We would be undefeated this year if our guys brought that kind of intensity to every game. Including a solid victory over Kentucky.

Man... I loved that team!

Most under-appreciated thing about the video: No court-storming.

@wrwlumpy

Sgt. Peppers taught the band to play?

No, that was 30 years.

Got nervous all over again watching that. What a team.

Feb 27, 2015 04:57 AM #8

@bskeet my son and I were there. I bought some blue addias socks that day and wore them to game, my son made me take them off at half- rest is history. Never wore them again! I loved that team too!

@Crimsonorblue22 I ever tell you about going to the 2003 FF here in Nawlins? There was a young kid with his dad sitting about 5 rows below us and he was wearing a Marquette shirt. Well once it was established that KU was taking Marquette to the woodshed, the kid stood up and took off the Marquette shirt and had a KU shirt under it. We all cheered him.

@jaybate-1.0

Do you realize the "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" album, one of the best of all time, was released in 1967, that is 48 years ago!!! Hard to believe it was that long ago...

Saw Paul here in concert a while back (Still has a great voice) Anyway, he should be thinking of writing a new version, because soon it will be...."It was 50 years ago today."

@JayhawkRock78

Last time I saw him was at the Olympics and all of us watching the ceremonies agreed that it was time for him to retire.

@JayHawkFanToo

Time flies when we're having fun!!!!!!

They've been going in and out of style,
But they're guarantied to raise a smile...

@wrwlumpy My most favorite memory of Kevin Young is the moment when he screened for one of our guys and just obliterated Marcus the flopper Smart, right on to the deck. I mean, just POW! That was totally awesome.

Feb 27, 2015 08:17 PM #18

@JayHawkFanToo AND it was 20 years ago "today" before that when Sgt Pepper taught the band to play

Look at that D! Did anyone notice how far out MU always caught the ball? Definitely miss that.
