Anyone watching the games today?

Mar 19, 2015 06:44 PM #2

Glad for Jerod

Mar 19, 2015 06:45 PM #3

@Kip_McSmithers Great win for UAB and HC Haase, but looks bad for the tough psuedo Big 12.

Mar 19, 2015 06:46 PM #4

I think I just lost one of my final four. I can't check at work. It's ok though. I usually like seeing the upsets.

Mar 19, 2015 06:46 PM #5

@brooksmd yes hate it for the Big12. I dislike iSu and their fan base but still want the 12 to represent better.

Mar 19, 2015 06:47 PM #6

@brooksmd Yeah for Haase. ISU not so cocky today!!!

Mar 19, 2015 06:47 PM #7

Just turned it on. Figures. I thought the ISU Cyclowns had choked enough the past few years that they might actually make a run this year. NOPE. They need to stop winning the big 12 tournament.

Mar 19, 2015 06:48 PM #8

If Baylor doesn't get their act together they could go home today also.

Mar 19, 2015 06:48 PM #9

@Gunman way to go Floor Burns!!! Maybe he should be in our often talked about replacement!

Mar 19, 2015 06:48 PM #10

We better have our act together too!

Mar 19, 2015 06:49 PM #11

@DanR According to the announcers earlier, ISU was the Big 12 champs. They ignored it was a tournament.

Mar 19, 2015 06:49 PM #12

Dukes candy land road to the final four just got easier

Mar 19, 2015 06:49 PM #13

@Crimsonorblue22 Could be.

Mar 19, 2015 06:50 PM #14

Happy for Haase, but sad that Big12 takes another beating in the tournament. Have to do better to justifybthe best conference talk. Wish ND was the #3 that went down.

Mar 19, 2015 06:52 PM #15

@FarSideHawk can't root against our own! Lots of espn guys picked ISU to go far!! Go Baylor!! So sad ISU, NOT

Mar 19, 2015 06:56 PM #16

This is why I didn't want us to be a 3. Far too many 14s have won.

Mar 19, 2015 06:56 PM #17

@brooksmd They call that tournament the "Big 12 Championship" which is pretty stupid considering the big 12 also promotes the One True Champion. My misery nephew was wearing 2012 Mizzou big 12 champions sweatshirt the year they won the tournament (KU won the conference by 2 full games) and I'm sure ISU fans were all wearing theirs today when they watched the clones choke again.

Mar 19, 2015 06:58 PM #18

@DanR

I find that a bit stupid as well. Then every conference could claim one true champion....

Mar 19, 2015 07:11 PM #19

Georgia St. is making Big12 folk a little nervous right now.

Mar 19, 2015 07:13 PM #20

@wissoxfan83

Just goes to show it's all about the match ups.

Mar 19, 2015 07:19 PM #21

Alright you sunnsabitches, I'm supposed to be getting some work done, and I can't.

Mar 19, 2015 07:19 PM #22

@jaybate-1.0 You're too old to work you old fart.

Mar 19, 2015 07:20 PM #23

@brooksmd

HOWLING

Mar 19, 2015 07:21 PM #24

In about 1996 it started to snow on the Wednesday night before the tourney and didn't stop until the Friday morning of the tourney.

Those were the two best snowdays I've had in my 22 years of teaching!

Mar 19, 2015 07:22 PM #25

@wissoxfan83 Speaking to teaching, ain't you supposed to be in the classroom doing that.

Mar 19, 2015 07:26 PM #26

Looks like Baylor finally pulled their head out and will be moving on unless Ga St goes on a tear.

Mar 19, 2015 07:27 PM #27

Is this Rick's last game?

Mar 19, 2015 07:27 PM #28

Uh, the ISU loss doesn't help that Big 12 tourney resume.

Mar 19, 2015 07:35 PM #29

@Kip_McSmithers

Wouldn't surprise me. The winds of change seem to be blowing. The state of Texas is becoming a hot recruiting bed for basketball. The days of we just care about football maybe coming to end, as well as Barnes tenure as HC of the Texas Basketball team.

Mar 19, 2015 07:40 PM #30

Faylor is making it interesting. Will piss poor FT% do them in?

Come on Big12! Pull your heads out.

Will these close calls to our fellow conference boys wake up the Hawks???

Mar 19, 2015 07:41 PM #31

UT went on a run to end the half only down 2. Down by as many as 11. I picked Butler to win.

Mar 19, 2015 07:43 PM #32

Press has Baylor unnerved

Mar 19, 2015 07:43 PM #33

@Kip_McSmithers They beat it at WV????????????????

Mar 19, 2015 07:45 PM #34

@RockChalkinTexas won all three games

Mar 19, 2015 07:48 PM #35

Ga St, I don't want it, here you do something with it. .

Mar 19, 2015 07:49 PM #36

@brooksmd amazing shot. Too bad it's another big12 victim

Mar 19, 2015 07:49 PM #37

Unbelievable.

Mar 19, 2015 07:52 PM #38

Love the Madness.

Mar 19, 2015 07:52 PM #39

Really bad afternoon for the big12. Both number 3s have crapped out.

Mar 19, 2015 07:53 PM #40

Too bad for the Big 12 right now. Baylor players just smiled after that 3 went in walking off the court. WOW!

Mar 19, 2015 07:54 PM #41

@brooksmd

Teaching? oh, that's what all these kids are doing in this room.

Mar 19, 2015 07:55 PM #42

Big 12 0-2 so far. TX could make it 0-3.

Takes the shine off of XI straight to be honest.

Mar 19, 2015 07:56 PM #43

14s over 3s is the new 12s over 5s

Mar 19, 2015 07:57 PM #44

But the way the tourney works, if we can get one team to the Final Four, our conference is vindicated. Who has the best chance? OU?

Mar 19, 2015 07:57 PM #45

Joe Lunardi tweet: Big 12 can't lose every game can it?

Mar 19, 2015 07:59 PM #46

@brooksmd

Answer: No.

Reason: Because thankfully we don't have a team in every game. Otherwise my answer would be yes!!

Mar 19, 2015 08:02 PM #47

@HighEliteMajor Wouldn't it be sweet if WVU busted Kensucky in the chops?

Mar 19, 2015 08:06 PM #48

@brooksmd -- As long as UK went down. Heck, I'd root for MU against UK right now. In theory, I mean, if MU was in the tournament.

Mar 19, 2015 08:33 PM #49

@HighEliteMajor

MU is playing in the NIT NIT

NIT NIT - Not Invited To...NIT

Mar 19, 2015 08:34 PM #50

Texas down 8 with 9 minutes left...

Mar 19, 2015 08:35 PM #51

@JayHawkFanToo I know! Is this a sign of how biased we all are of the Big 12? Everyone was saying we have the best conference nationally I suppose. I'm scratching my head at these games.

Mar 19, 2015 08:41 PM #52

I wish the Big XII wasn't falling apart. Nationally, everyone thinks it's KU and a bunch of stiffs. This isn't helping.

Mar 19, 2015 08:48 PM #53

@joeloveshawks

The conference ranking is largely based on the non-con schedule and the Big 12 had by far the toughest non-con schedule and best non-con record.

I have numerously posted here that the NCAA is a crap shoot with the match-ups offsetting the records. As Valvano said,,,survive and advance...and hope you don't get a bad match-up.

Mar 19, 2015 08:49 PM #54

@JayHawkFanToo But they did win the SEC Football Weak Division before they got their butts handed to them by Bama. They'd be a nothing in the West Div but a door mat.

Mar 19, 2015 08:58 PM #55

Kansas and Oklahoma scored more in a half in 1988 than Texas and Butler are going to score in the entire game.

Mar 19, 2015 09:01 PM #56

Huge 3 there. Ugly game. Barnes should be packing his office up Monday. A team with this much talent shouldn't be an 11 seed and getting bounced in first round.

Mar 19, 2015 09:02 PM #57

Looks like Texas is next, down by 5 with under 1 minute left...

Mar 19, 2015 09:02 PM #58

@JayHawkFanToo And they Can't Be In the CBI. But hey, they're wrestling for a national title this weekend. Bunch of grapplers. Sweaty guys, and all.

Mar 19, 2015 09:02 PM #59

Look on the bright side. The Big12 won't piss us off this evening....

Mar 19, 2015 09:04 PM #60

@HighEliteMajor

You mean that sport in which sweaty grown mean in tights roll on the floor grabbing each other??? Eeewww...

Mar 19, 2015 09:06 PM #61

Big12 now 0-3 in tourney. UGLY!

Mar 19, 2015 09:07 PM #62

Buh-bye texas

Mar 19, 2015 09:07 PM #63

Trust in ku, haase and coach brown win, dont trust in anyone else in the big 12, 0-3

Mar 19, 2015 09:07 PM #64

Bad bad day for the pseudo.

Mar 19, 2015 09:07 PM #65

Texas is toast...at least they lost to a higher seeded team.

If one had to predict a worst possible start for the Big 12...this one would exceed that. 0-3? who would have thunk it...

Mar 19, 2015 09:07 PM #66

That was hopin coach brown wins btw

Mar 19, 2015 09:09 PM #67

@Jayrawks1 great pt!!

Mar 19, 2015 09:09 PM #68

@Jayrawks1 Yep, HC Brown and SMU lookin good at this point. with 4 min left.

Mar 19, 2015 09:11 PM #69

@brooksmd said:

@Jayrawks1 Yep, HC Brown and SMU lookin good at this point. with 4 min left.

Until that three

Mar 19, 2015 09:14 PM #70

@brooksmd

SMU went on a 23-4 run, after being down by 10, to get some distance but UCLA is now fighting back.

Mar 19, 2015 09:15 PM #71

Got an idea, guard alford, 7 made threes???

Mar 19, 2015 09:15 PM #72

3 point game going down to the wire...

Mar 19, 2015 09:15 PM #73

@Jayrawks1 Guard? Put a blanket over him.

Mar 19, 2015 09:16 PM #74

Alford is sick

Mar 19, 2015 09:18 PM #75

@Jayrawks1

UCLA is staying alive with 3s...

Mar 19, 2015 09:19 PM #76

SMU trying hard to give the game away...Brown will have a conniption...

Mar 19, 2015 09:19 PM #77

Box and 1 on alford?

Mar 19, 2015 09:20 PM #78

@Jayrawks1 If Alford gets the ball foul him before he can shoot.

Mar 19, 2015 09:21 PM #79

such a bs call, imo...

Mar 19, 2015 09:22 PM #80

Wow, a call that big should be reviewable, know its not allowed but wow

Mar 19, 2015 09:24 PM #81

That ball was wide and it only touched the rim after the SMU player re-directed it.

Mar 19, 2015 09:25 PM #82

@JayHawkFanToo terrible call.

Mar 19, 2015 09:26 PM #83

I hope Mrs. Karma has taken all it needs today and stays the heck away from the KU game...

Mar 19, 2015 09:27 PM #84

CBS Sports: "No. 14 UAB takes down Big 12 champ Iowa St." Note to CBS, ISU not psuedo Big 12 champ.

Mar 19, 2015 09:29 PM #85

Gents and ladies, I need to do something before mama gets home or she'll think all I did was sit around and watch bb all day. Just changing the water filter in the fridge don't count as major accomplishment. Later....

Mar 19, 2015 09:31 PM #86

@brooksmd

Alford went a ref-aided 9-11 from 3...that is BG on a really good day territory.

Mar 19, 2015 09:44 PM #87

Worst goal tending call I've ever seen-especially when changing the outcome of a game. Can you say west coast viewership? I swear the refs must be told any call at the wire goes in favor of viewership.

Sure- SMU had a chance to win-should have gone for 2- but there is NO reason to make that BS goal tend call with the ball coming down outside of the rim.

Mar 19, 2015 09:45 PM #88

Man SMU and HCLB got screwed. Waaayyyyy bad call. I bet if SMU was Duke they don't get that goal-tending call.

Mar 19, 2015 09:49 PM #89

Hard to believe that the official that make the call was not the one that had the good view and the one that had the perfect view did not override him...and even harder to believe that, since it is a judgment call, it is not reviewable, they looked at the replay only to see if it was a 2 or 3 point shot. I hate to see a team lose a game on a bad call.

Mar 19, 2015 09:55 PM #90

@JayHawkFanToo coach brown has had a rough year, mudiay(sp) leaving, 2 ineligible w/ grades. Stinks for him! Last year he deserved to be in ncaa tourney too!

Mar 19, 2015 10:00 PM #91

John Adams -head of officiating covers there but on the GT call.
Everyone in the booth says bad call and this tool tries to make a rediculous case. Pitiful

Mar 19, 2015 10:01 PM #92

@CBS Sports: "No. 14 UAB takes down Big 12 champ Iowa St." Note to CBS, ISU not psuedo Big 12 champ."

They changed the headline, with no reference to "champ" anymore....

Mar 19, 2015 10:09 PM #93

Does the ball have to be in the cylinder for defensive goaltending? I'm definitely no UCLA apologist, but what is the rule? My gut reaction when I saw was goaltending. Ball coming down close to the goal, leave it alone!

Mar 19, 2015 10:09 PM #94

@KUSTEVE brooks called them!!image.jpg ↗

Mar 19, 2015 10:22 PM #95

All these losses are my fault. I stayed home to watch games and do a few errands. Tomorrow I'm going to work.

Mar 19, 2015 11:06 PM #96

I can't believe this. Every single game I care even a tiny bit about, the team I favor loses. 3 times I'm actually for the overdog, and each time the underdog wins by one measly point.

I'm just glad I was at the "theatre" and could only read about it all afterwards.

The itty bitty 12 better get off its collective butt tomorrow!

Mar 19, 2015 11:19 PM #97

Every team I was hoping would win has lost (0-7). Should I start rooting for UK? LOL

Mar 19, 2015 11:20 PM #98

Looks like VCU is going down...that's a good thing in my mind....

Mar 19, 2015 11:22 PM #99

Picked OSU to win, so now I'm 1-7.

Mar 19, 2015 11:23 PM #100

I don't get why guys (e.g., Shaka Smart) who obviously have a full set of follicles shave their heads. It's a mystery.

Mar 19, 2015 11:29 PM #101

@KUSTEVE ESPN says the same thing, Rubbish.

Mar 19, 2015 11:30 PM #102

Is anyone really surprised that Texas, Baylor and ISU went down? Three perennial tournament under-achievers. And -- if we're completely honest -- KU doesn't have the best record of playing up to the seeding either. I definitely don't argue with people when they say the Big12 is overrated except to point out that it's solid from top to bottom unlike every other conference.

Mar 19, 2015 11:30 PM #103

@RockChalkinTexas ?

Mar 19, 2015 11:33 PM #104

@KUSTEVE Showing ISU as Big 12 Champs.

Mar 19, 2015 11:34 PM #105

@RockChalkinTexas oh...ok....lol.

Mar 20, 2015 12:05 AM #106

@wissoxfan83 According to the rules the ball must have a chance of going in. That ball had no chance without divine intervention. And the ref that called it was looking from the side while the ref directly behind the shooter didn't make the call. You could see from behind the ball wasn't in line with the basket. That's a play that should be reviewable.

Mar 20, 2015 01:55 AM #107

@ParisHawk Do me a favor and don't cheer for Wisconsin tomorrow!
