@Kip_McSmithers Great win for UAB and HC Haase, but looks bad for the tough psuedo Big 12.

I think I just lost one of my final four. I can't check at work. It's ok though. I usually like seeing the upsets.

@brooksmd yes hate it for the Big12. I dislike iSu and their fan base but still want the 12 to represent better.

Just turned it on. Figures. I thought the ISU Cyclowns had choked enough the past few years that they might actually make a run this year. NOPE. They need to stop winning the big 12 tournament.

If Baylor doesn't get their act together they could go home today also.

@DanR According to the announcers earlier, ISU was the Big 12 champs. They ignored it was a tournament.

This is why I didn't want us to be a 3. Far too many 14s have won.

@brooksmd They call that tournament the "Big 12 Championship" which is pretty stupid considering the big 12 also promotes the One True Champion. My misery nephew was wearing 2012 Mizzou big 12 champions sweatshirt the year they won the tournament (KU won the conference by 2 full games) and I'm sure ISU fans were all wearing theirs today when they watched the clones choke again.

In about 1996 it started to snow on the Wednesday night before the tourney and didn't stop until the Friday morning of the tourney.

Those were the two best snowdays I've had in my 22 years of teaching!

Wouldn't surprise me. The winds of change seem to be blowing. The state of Texas is becoming a hot recruiting bed for basketball. The days of we just care about football maybe coming to end, as well as Barnes tenure as HC of the Texas Basketball team.

I wish the Big XII wasn't falling apart. Nationally, everyone thinks it's KU and a bunch of stiffs. This isn't helping.

The conference ranking is largely based on the non-con schedule and the Big 12 had by far the toughest non-con schedule and best non-con record.

I have numerously posted here that the NCAA is a crap shoot with the match-ups offsetting the records. As Valvano said,,,survive and advance...and hope you don't get a bad match-up.

@JayHawkFanToo But they did win the SEC Football Weak Division before they got their butts handed to them by Bama. They'd be a nothing in the West Div but a door mat.

Kansas and Oklahoma scored more in a half in 1988 than Texas and Butler are going to score in the entire game.

Huge 3 there. Ugly game. Barnes should be packing his office up Monday. A team with this much talent shouldn't be an 11 seed and getting bounced in first round.

Alford went a ref-aided 9-11 from 3...that is BG on a really good day territory.

Worst goal tending call I've ever seen-especially when changing the outcome of a game. Can you say west coast viewership? I swear the refs must be told any call at the wire goes in favor of viewership.

Sure- SMU had a chance to win-should have gone for 2- but there is NO reason to make that BS goal tend call with the ball coming down outside of the rim.

Man SMU and HCLB got screwed. Waaayyyyy bad call. I bet if SMU was Duke they don't get that goal-tending call.

Hard to believe that the official that make the call was not the one that had the good view and the one that had the perfect view did not override him...and even harder to believe that, since it is a judgment call, it is not reviewable, they looked at the replay only to see if it was a 2 or 3 point shot. I hate to see a team lose a game on a bad call.

@JayHawkFanToo coach brown has had a rough year, mudiay(sp) leaving, 2 ineligible w/ grades. Stinks for him! Last year he deserved to be in ncaa tourney too!

They changed the headline, with no reference to "champ" anymore....

Does the ball have to be in the cylinder for defensive goaltending? I'm definitely no UCLA apologist, but what is the rule? My gut reaction when I saw was goaltending. Ball coming down close to the goal, leave it alone!

All these losses are my fault. I stayed home to watch games and do a few errands. Tomorrow I'm going to work.

I can't believe this. Every single game I care even a tiny bit about, the team I favor loses. 3 times I'm actually for the overdog, and each time the underdog wins by one measly point.

I'm just glad I was at the "theatre" and could only read about it all afterwards.

Is anyone really surprised that Texas, Baylor and ISU went down? Three perennial tournament under-achievers. And -- if we're completely honest -- KU doesn't have the best record of playing up to the seeding either. I definitely don't argue with people when they say the Big12 is overrated except to point out that it's solid from top to bottom unlike every other conference.

@wissoxfan83 According to the rules the ball must have a chance of going in. That ball had no chance without divine intervention. And the ref that called it was looking from the side while the ref directly behind the shooter didn't make the call. You could see from behind the ball wasn't in line with the basket. That's a play that should be reviewable.
