So I'm not as seasoned as some of KU fans that post on KUBuckets. However in my life time I have witnessed two KU national Championships.

How many times have we seen a KU superior team enter the tournament only to be upset? Whether HCRW or HCBS it seems a KU top notch team falls apart and loses. For some reason these team find their kryptonite no matter how good they are. Whether a strange team shooting lights out from three, or a bad call from the refs. KU's best teams go home.

Yet KU's least best teams seem to do quite well in the tournament. 2011/2012 wasn't the best KU team yet they played for the championship. The Danny and the Miracles were far from being the best yet they cut down the nets. In 2008 KU went into the final 4 as the weakest #1 seed and yet they cut down the nets in the only final 4 to present 4 #1's seeds.

So here is my point. Is this the season? Everybody is down on KU (even I), yet is it that moment? Is this that moment where KU plays out of their minds. Whether they play Bad Ball as Jaybate has been claiming for weeks, or hitting the three as Hem has been saying for weeks. Does KU climb above the abnormal and claim greatness?

My fellow KU fans. I love to break down how a team plays, as much as the next guy, However sometimes in the tournament a team comes along that you can't make sense of. Last year it was UConn. Is this the year of the KU Jayhawks.?

I believe in the law of averages and karma. So many times KU has entered the tournament as a team to be reckoned with, yet only went home early. Yet this year KU enters the tournament as a team not favored and is expected to lose early. Does KU rise to the challenge? Does KU claim their spot in history?

I'm starting to believe.

I love your thought process. I enjoyed watching KU put two halves together today-something they rarely do. So I am hoping they can continue to play two halves every game-then great things are possible.

(And you are right-our best teams haven't got it done) . Pierce/LaFrenz or Morris Twins.

@DoubleDD I thought there was something very telling about our first game that bodes extremely well for our future. At halftime, the NM ST coach was interviewed, and he said "they only hit 5 3 pointers in the whole conference tournament", which he was basically saying we were getting "lucky". That wasn't lucky...it was a game plan. I think Coach has been playing possum with the 3 ball offense...I think it's been there, just waiting to come out. It helps that the Aggies played zone, but we looked like the team that was destroying teams in the Big 12 from the 3 in that game. Just my opinion, but maybe coach put the 3 ball away on purpose to sneak it in the NCAA tourney, so folks wouldn't gameplan it as much.

@KUSTEVE I meant to comment earlier on their coaches statement. He said we had some "non-shooters" that hit shots. I'm not sure who he was talking about. I guess Devonte? Even if his 3 pt % is not very good.....I don't think they scouted us very well.

@DoubleDD I like your reasoning. I feel compelled to keep not believing though. So far it has worked well. Wichita state is gonna be amped for us tomorrow and KU will be amped for WSU.

@DoubleDD I have to disagree on the 08 team. Yah sure everyone was picking UNC or Memphis that year but our boys were stone cold killers that year. They were hard. Easily one of KU's best teams in Self's tenure and possibly Roy's.

@Hawk8086 Yah, you know I kinda thought that was weird too cuz Ummmmm we have 6 guys that can gun it from trey. Granted the lid has been tightened down on the bucket like like a hatch on a ship during general quarters. But, thats lids off now and at the perfect time. I just hope it stays off.

@Hawk8086 he said they identified the kids as drivers or shooters and of course we have mostly been driving it so the report didn't reflect our Jayhawks shooting prowess they put on yesterday. Dg and Mason were probably drivers, BG you know!

Sure seems more slumpish than planned to me.

But dang, am I glad the slump is over - and what timing! Can't wait to make it rain more on Sunday and show how we are going to... can't help myself here... separate the wheat from the chaff! :)

@Jyhwk_InTigrtwn I think we have established the 3 in this gym! This streak will continue!!

Did anyone read about the fake lay up line? I thought that brought some much needed fun back to the game and made them loose. Also have them a chance to visualize and think about what they wanted to happen. I know @drgslayr has talked about the benefit of that before. It was nice to see a relaxed self too. I hope he can bring the fire tomorrow while keeping the positive atmosphere. He made a comment about coaching negative with regard to threes that maybe showed some self reflection.

We are going to kill WSU. I'm thinking 10-15 point win. Self is usually pretty good when he really wants it and he has made some comments that show he really wants it! Can't wait!!

Yea you and I knew that 08 team was cold, but if you remember it was all about Memphis as the best team ever. The young Tar Heels could be unstoppable, and UCLA making another 4 four run.

KU you was far from being the favorite. Yet not only did they win the championship but they are the only Team to win the championship when all #1 seeds made the Final 4.

My intent wasn't so much to down on any KU teams. It just seems to me when KU is the favorite the lose and go home. Yet when nobody really gives them a chance they ring the bell. This year seems to be that kind of year.

At least I hope so.

@Jyhwk_InTigrtwn No no--it's all part of Bill's plan. He's out-thought all the other coaches so thoroughly, It's like he's playing chess and they're all playing checkers. The poor chumps--they have no idea what they're up against, lol.

@DoubleDD Ahhh yah, that makes send DD. Very good point. Likelihood of all 4 #1 seeds making the final four again?? 0.01%
