Okay... I've decided I want to be the new "media man" for Kansas basketball. I have 10 years experience in sports media directing in MMA.

I want to evolve Kansas basketball.

I want to push the envelope on the Jayhawk basketball media outlet to the press and to Jayhawk fans. Accessibility will never be higher! And for the rare Jayhawk games that are not televised, I want to port live streaming to internet sources so no Jayhawk fan is left out in the cold... ever... ever... again!

My ultimate responsibility would be to help every Jayhawk player with personal development by showing them footage of their game... strengths and weaknesses. Including live in-game coaching help via:

All of our scholarship athletes would have a video device during bench time in games. Individual footage and coaching would be sent over to players while taking a blow so they could be coached up DURING games. To my knowledge, there is no rules or regulations governing electronic devices on benches. This would be a first for the sport and something adopted in D1 all the way to the NBA. Players would put an ear pod in and could hear and see instructions even during the largest crowd outbreaks.

It is time for sports to start soaking in the available technology today.

@drgnslayr I think thats brilliant! You have my vote for sure. As long as said media devices on the bench are not being used for social media like twitter and facebook, then I do not see why it should be a problem. I remember some time ago when the twitterverse was created, something about NBA players posting during games and it being banned by the NBA. Never heard of it being addressed by the college game at all.

All social media would be blocked from the devices and only capable for coaching communication.

I first have to convince my wife we need to move to Lawrence.... yikes!

One of my tech buddies writes apps for phones and I'd like to get him involved in a project to write a specific app only for this purpose. It could open up several layers of communication within the players, coaches and support staff. For example... players could push a button for "bench service" to order up a banana when they feel the first signs of cramping to get their potassium levels up. Or how about an electrolyte uplift with some watermelon juice? Players could plug into some add-on devices to give instant medical data.

Imagine players coming over to the bench and seeing replays of how they got beat on a play with quick coaching tips added in?

I can see basketball going largely the way football has gone.... coaches up in booths communicating to the sidelines to run plays and to fix problems. These devices could be given to deep bench guys that can also send out sideline signals to players.

@drgnslayr The trick is to not make it a distraction. Too much and they don't know what's been going on on the court directly in front of them. I like the potential though.

I agree... and we all know how distracting these devices can be. But there would be nothing available to them on these devices but relevant game information and the possibility to get some "bench service."

I'm a modern technology illiterate, so I have no clue what you're talking about!, but... how many people were at that game? Looks like a lot! KU fans are over the top crazy!
