CWS vs Royals - Game 1
Sep 05, 2015 12:05 AM #1

Medlen on the hill for the Royals again, while Danks gets the call for the White Hose.

Sep 05, 2015 12:10 AM #2

We'll see if Danks has what it takes to cool off the Royals bats. The Royals have plated 27 in the last 2 games, Fifteen last nite and 12 the nite before. Counting the 5 in the first game loss to Detroit thats almost 11/game. Super hot bats. And not just the regulars. The Sept call-ups have helped also.

Sep 05, 2015 12:25 AM #3

@brooksmd yuck

Sep 05, 2015 12:39 AM #4

What's the latest with this chickenpox outbreak?

Sep 05, 2015 12:40 AM #5

@truehawk93 Think it's only affecting Herrera and Rios.

Sep 05, 2015 12:43 AM #6

@truehawk93 They came down with it at Tampa Bay, so I would think nobody else will be affected after 4 days.

Sep 05, 2015 12:51 AM #7

@brooksmd Contained and they are on injured reserve for now?

Sep 05, 2015 12:52 AM #8

@truehawk93 Watching game now...bats need rattled

Sep 05, 2015 12:53 AM #9

@truehawk93 Yep. Think 3-4 weeks

Sep 05, 2015 12:57 AM #10

@truehawk93 It's early.

Sep 05, 2015 01:09 AM #11

Medlen doesn't seem to be too effective on the mound right now. The Sox are hitting him well.

Sep 05, 2015 01:10 AM #12

Toronto beat Balt in extra innings so Royals need to win this one to keep Toronto at bay.

Sep 05, 2015 01:13 AM #13

Time to pull Medlen, but maybe this game doesn't matter much at this point.

Sep 05, 2015 01:21 AM #14

@truehawk93 For home field advantage it's important. Toronto has been coming on strong. Only have a 6 game lead on them and they won, so Royals lose and it's down to 5.

Sep 05, 2015 01:22 AM #15

@truehawk93 They just don't seem to be in the game at the plate.

Sep 05, 2015 01:32 AM #16

Medlen has had 3 good innings, unfortunately he's had 2 bad ones. And apparently the Royals bats are tired after the last 2 games. CWS 6-0 after 4 1/2.

Sep 05, 2015 01:36 AM #17

Royals only 3 hits after 5 innings.

Sep 05, 2015 01:47 AM #18

@brooksmd Afraid this one ended in the 4th for the Royals. It's a series so maybe they'll come back and roll them.

Sep 05, 2015 01:48 AM #19

Medlen's ERA is 4.88, whoa

Sep 05, 2015 02:00 AM #20

They pull Medlen and bring in Guthrie with a 5.52 ERA. So the Royals have conceded this game. Interesting strategy, but apparently they feel this game won't impact their season.

Sep 05, 2015 02:02 AM #21

The American league hitting king, Cabrera is 0-4 in this game.

Sep 05, 2015 02:07 AM #22

Damn old age. I was looking at last nites scores when I said Toronto won. So it looks like losing won't be that bad tonite. Toronto losing could be why Ned gave up on this one.

Sep 05, 2015 02:10 AM #23

@brooksmd They just started their Labor Day celebration in the 4th this game.

Sep 05, 2015 02:10 AM #24

Moustakas is day to day with his hammy. He might be back on Sunday.

Sep 05, 2015 02:11 AM #25

@truehawk93 Cuthbert has filled in very well for Moose.

Sep 05, 2015 02:19 AM #26

@brooksmd Just one of those games. The bats should rally next game and I expect a win. Maybe Duffy will have a better outing. Then Cueta which his cutter isn't cutting much lately. So, if we can sneak out with at least 1-2 wins this series, it should keep them paced.
I just reviewed the standings and didn't realize the Jays were so close. But a 6 game deficit is difficult to overcome. I don't see KC dropping too many more games. I expect the Jays to drop a few more too.

Sep 05, 2015 02:22 AM #27

Looks like Danks may get a Labor Day weekend shutout.

Sep 05, 2015 02:22 AM #28

@truehawk93 Yep. That's it. I'm out. Hopefully like you said they'll storm back tomorrow. Later...

Sep 05, 2015 01:29 PM #29

Looks like if I'd chimed in to talk about this game I'd have been talking to myself!

Sep 05, 2015 01:51 PM #30

@wissoxfan83 If you had chimed in last night you would've had me and @truehawk93 to talk to. I was here til the back-to-back hr's in the 8th. Still 2 more games in this series so join us for them.

Sep 05, 2015 01:58 PM #31

@brooksmd cool to have truehawk!!

Sep 05, 2015 02:26 PM #32

@brooksmd I might a little. UW-Bama tonight, I'll be watching that for sure! Tomorrow plans for LSU soccer in the afternoon.

Sep 05, 2015 05:01 PM #33

Well, I sure picked a bad game to go to last night. At least it was relatively quick.

Sep 05, 2015 05:25 PM #34

@DanR oh 💩, I have family and friends going today and tmrw.

Sep 05, 2015 08:30 PM #35

@Crimsonorblue22 I originally planned to go tonight, but I couldn't find 5 decent seats together for under $125 each. Prices on StubHub have gone up!

Even for last night, had to pick between $84 tickets in lower section 111 way down left outfield line, or $35 for seats in section 413, 7th row in the upper deck behind home plate and third.

Considering the score, we were happy we went with the cheaper seats. First time I've ever sat in the upper level. (usually only go to 3-4 games a year)

Sep 05, 2015 09:55 PM #36

@DanR Yeah, it could've been a 5 hr game like the nite before. That would almost make you jump off the upper deck.
