85 Series....the night the Royals won it all I was working at a daytime-only radio station. Signed off at sunset, got in the car and zoomed to my favorite tavern. Got there in time to watch Joaquin Andujar melt down. Hardly anybody in Seattle followed baseball pre-Griffey. Just me and a Yankee fan who hated the Cardinals were watching the game.

Want to see Esky go for MVP like he did in the ALCS. Need that type of performance from the leadoff hitter. Better output from Hos, Moose and Gordo also.

@wissoxfan83 By all rights I shouldn't even follow the NBA anymore. They took away the team I rooted for in my youth (the Kings) then the team of my adulthood (the Sonics). I'll still watch a good matchup once in awhile though. Mostly I just watch the postgame with Barkley, Kenny & Shaq. Ten times better than Fox's MLB postgame.

@nwhawkfan You're getting to be an oldtimer to remember the KC Kings! Didn't they split games with Omaha or something odd like that? I bet the players loved that.

@wissoxfan83 Yeah, for the first couple of years. Before I transferred to KU I went to Rockhurst U., where the Kings used to practice. I had a student job with the athletic dept. and got to watch the practices.

@Crimsonorblue22 I didn't. Saw some of the tweets. We had a HOA meeting to go to last night at 7 :-( and made it home in time to see top of 5th. Fell asleep when it was 4-4 in the 12th. Was so happy to find out they won when I got up this morning.

Formula One race was here last weekend. On Monday during my noon walk I had on my Jayhawk earrings and necklace. Some tourists asked me if I was from here and asked for directions to the river and after the directions, the guy's wife said I saw your earrings. They were from Wisconsin and said they were huge Bo fans and were wondering what lies ahead for their team after he retires. They complimented our program and wished us luck! Good people. They had a friend with them from England who had come to see Sir Elton John perform after the race.

That's true, I feel the love here! It was more of a i can't believe the game went til 1:15 than I wasn't interested, because I was interested and am pulling for the Royals, though not in a it'll change my life kind of way!
