This seams like we might be hearing something soon and it sounds like it might even be good news?

If you remember HCBS said earlier this summer that they were preparing to play without him just in case but it sounds like HCBS is singing a new song?

I like how HCBS says its been handled and the NCAA just has to make a determination one way or the other and that he think it was handled the best way possible. He is making it sound like Diallo will be cleared soon.

I have to ask why wouldn't he be optimistic even if he knew otherwise. He's dealing with the media, there's nothing to gain by putting the situation in a negative light, it just adds fuel to the fire for questions he's not ready to answer ( or doesn't have the answer).

He does make it look like we will get good news. It would be even better if it happened before Wednesday.

I've cheicked out on the whole situation. If he plays I'll cheick it out. I'm really hoping we have a whole season of Cheick puns, the possibilities are endless.

Is Cheick able to play in the Pitt State and FHSU scrimmages since they are not official games?

Apparently Diallo's issues center around his time at Our Savior New American High School ↗and not his work in Mali like many of us, including me, speculated...which goes to show that none of us has inside information and all we do is guess...and guess incorrectly at that. :(

Now wait a minute. I have inside information. When I really want to know the answer, I ask my wife. In order to keep things privy, she uses her special communication codes (just like the Riverboat Gambler does).

I think I have some of it figured out now:

"Duh!!!" = I'm dumb

"What did you expect?" = I'm dumb

"Seriously?!" = I'm dumb

I'm still working on the rest of the code...

I dance around the Diallo question and NO ONE will even touch on the issue with the connections I have which happen to be solid connections!

@drgnslayr if I may add or aid in your deciphering, when my wife says, "Well if you have to ask."

That translates into "Wow I can't believe I'm married to this guy."

If you are from the South or your wife is and says, "Well bless your heart." Translates to "Go to he!!"

Right now I'm trying to figure out "did you really think..." Maybe because it has the word "really" in it. It took me several years to figure out the Riverboat Gambler's vernacular, especially his use of the word "really." And when he uses that word repeatedly... like "really, really, really" turns out to mean something totally different than just one "really."

That's a tough one. "Really" could have multiple meanings just by the tone it was used in and or placement of hands, either in the air or on her hips.

I tend to believe it is a rhetorical question. No right or wrong answer.

Also if you want to get back at a Southern woman. Just tell her that her sweet teas wasn't any good.

Remind her that her family didn't come over on the original 3 ships. They to get hung up on that Daughters of the Revolution junk...

Is that white after labor day? gasp!

Southern hospitality is great, but a lot of the traditions of exclusion could go.

@JRyman Bless your heart does not mean go to hell. It means that person thinks you're a special kind of stupud. I have never heard that phrase used in the context of go to hell.

@Texas-Hawk-10 No worries. Just had a Florida born and Georgia raised friend tell me that once.

Just like different degrees of accents I'm sure that "bless your heart" has varying degrees of meanings thought the South.

Cheick Diallo is a month away from finishing his 2nd semester of college classes, but still isn't cleared by the NCAA for academic reasons.

I went to the NCAA portal for Our Savior. There is no updated list of denied courses. As of April 15, a couple that stood out were Algebra 1 and 2. It was stated that those were not taught at the level of Algebra 1 or higher. This is the one that had caught my eye because it is a class that is a "core" class, but the school's issues have caused it to be denied.

The other kids that went to Our Savior that have been approved -- I don't know if they were at Our Savior as long as Diallo?

Algebra 1 would have been taken (by most kids) relatively early -- freshman or sophomore year. Maybe the other kids that went there had that class under their belts.

With all the time it has taken, there must be much more to it than Algebra 1 or 2.

@HighEliteMajor At least in Texas, Algebra is considered a freshmen level course and Algebra II a junior level class that is the highest level of math required for non-advanced students. I was a grade level above in math (about 1/3 of people in my class were) so I took Algebra in 8th grad and Algebra II my sophomore year. Also meant we had to take Pre-Cal in HS as well as everybody had to take 3 math classes between their 9th and 12th grade years.
