Bragg is the last big in the game but immediately has an assist, then beats his man down the court for a jam.

This in a nutshell is why we have trouble recruiting the elites

Bragg is the key to this team. If we win it all he will be a huge reason why.

Usually middle of the pack in the MIAA. Typically a blue-collar team that works hard with average talent.

Finished 4th in conference last year, but they got on a roll and won the conference tournament.

its going to be huge especially early.. so many different rules on defense to adjust too. I'm glad we have the depth we have because a team like Iowa St that has 6 main players is going to be in big trouble when the refs are feeling happy

agreed, we really don't have a smart enough defender to put on him. Bragg has the ideal length but as a freshman Niang would bait him into whatever he wants. Ellis has improved on D a lot but he's never had success guarding him either.. At least we know this is his final year

Gotta hope he doesn't morph into a distracting discontent. That said, I still envision his saving a pair of close contests with his lethal long ball this season. But Bill Self has declared that 12 members of this squad will not play. Maybe not 10! Bound to be a tuff numbers crunch.

Can definitely see the rust tonight. Rebounding still looks like it could be an issue this year. I think Bragg or Mickelson need to start when the season starts for real next week. Mickelson is the most consistent guy of the 4 non Perry bigs and Bragg has the highest ceiling. KU also really needs Traylor to play like he did as a sophomore to be net positive for KU this year and Landen Lucas is what he is. A solid rebounder who lacks the strength to hold his position of both ends of the court.

@Crimsonorblue22 I recall an OSU big decked him at the end of the away game last year on a hard pick. I was shocked when Frank got up & continued.

Slow, very slow start, but somewhere in last bit of 1st half, hit their stride. Part of that was finally hitting 2 back to back 3's. Bright spot in 1st half was Bragg then Hunter.

Perry came on strong in the 2nd but quietly. Jamari has some good plays along with Hunter and Bragg keeping it on. Graham / Mason were what we expected.

Svi/Greene still have problems, be interesting to see what develops there. Seldon was quite overall besides the initial 3.

Don't forget royals on jimmy Fallon and jimmy kimmel

@globaljaybird Ellis 22-12 solid but like mentioned, these weren't the L&A types that he typically disappears against. That will be the barometer for him and his translation to the next level. Can he sustain some sort of productivity against the tall and athletic or can he translate his game to more of the 3 spot.

Hard to figure out who played well without watching the game. From looking at the stats looks like Perry is still the gold standard. Bright spots, Bragg, Mickelson and at times Traylor. Not so bright spots, Selden, Greene and Svi. Graham with 8 rebounds and 7 assists had a Mason-like game.
