I have little understanding of how hacks/worms/viruses/ etc. work. Do these posts compromise our on line security? I'm not going to say it ruins the website for us, but today there's more than ever. Anyone know what the heck is going on, maybe I'll even learn something!
@wissoxfan83 More likely spam than hacked. Blogs get spam comments all the time. There are tools to avoid that which require folks to prove they are human by entering special text or solving simple math problems.
I believe there is a nodebb spam filter based on Akismet. That would help without requiring special human input.
Other forums are complaining about Korean spam these days. We are not alone: "μ°λ¦¬λ νΌμκ° μλλλ€"
@wissoxfan83 I think Kim Jong-Un is just really into Kansas basketball these days ;) Anyways, you won't get hacked as long as you don't click any of the links. And odds are, the spammers are using well known trojans/exploits/malware, so if you're up to date on your anti-virus and browser, odds are you'll be just fine. But do take malicious content warnings seriously.
Can we delete the spam threads, or are they just stuck in the queue?
Is the pope a progressive Catholic?
@konkeyDong They're using Trojans? That's between themselves and their spouses.
:) just delete them guys. It's not a threat. It's just an annoyance. We survived the Russians. This too shall pass. I'll look at permanent solutions.
@approxinfinity as always, thank you!!
@wissoxfan83 you seem to be an expert, huh?
