CBS Sports Network?
Dec 21, 2015 05:23 AM #1

So what weird channel is this? Is this regular CBS or this some special channel.

OK I'm going to go onto a tirade here. Why they hell do I have to as a KU fan enter into shady websites and search like I'm looking for Noah's lost ark? Just to watch KU play a damn game. This is getting crazy.

Have I went to sleep and awoken in some damn crazed ground hog day?

I'm pretty sure KU makes millions on their 3rd tier rights. So why aren't these games more readily able to watch?

KU is about to make a championship run yet I have to search and look for games like I'm rooting for some division 3 school.

OK I'm done ranting

Rock Chalk.

@DoubleDD who is your tv provider?

Dec 21, 2015 06:01 AM #3

@Crimsonorblue22

DirecTV

Dec 21, 2015 06:02 AM #4

@DoubleDD It is recommended you call your local provider if you are not receiving CBS Sports Network. DIRECTV (channel 221) carries CBS Sports Network in its Choice Extra package while Dish Network (channel 158) carries CBS Sports Network in its Classic Silver 200 package.

Dec 21, 2015 06:07 AM #5

@DoubleDD do u get it?

Dec 21, 2015 06:27 AM #6

@Crimsonorblue22

yes I do. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Dec 21, 2015 11:15 AM #7

It is available on direct tv.

Dec 21, 2015 03:16 PM #8

@DoubleDD I agree it has got annoying. Last year I upped my cable package to get as many games as I could. This year I once more was unable to watch as my only option was espn3, which of course is blacked out in most of Kansas. I have cable one as my only provider, unless I want to cut down some trees so I can have dish/direct. Soooo, I dumped all but economy cable recently, got some online packages for random stuff and basically have decided not to stress. I am also not buying anymore tickets and going up to the field house . If they don't want want me to watch I guess I can oblige them.!

Sling TV does let me get some games, and as soon as I get an antenna installed I'm cutting the cord completely.

@DoubleDD

KU fans struggle to catch Jayhawk basketball, but it is easy locating Kentucky practice sessions now on the tube.

How ridiculous is that?

Dec 21, 2015 04:01 PM #10

@DoubleDD

Prediction:

As long as KU is with adidas, TV coverage will get worse.

Dec 21, 2015 04:20 PM #11

@jaybate-1.0 I'm going to go w/prediction: as long as KU has SZ, we're screwed.

Dec 21, 2015 04:30 PM #12

KU does not own the broadcast distribution rights for this game. San Diego State and the Mountain West conference own the broadcast rights for the game, and CBS Sports has a contract with the Mountain West. If you have even a basic sports package, CBS Sports should be included in it.

Dec 21, 2015 04:32 PM #13

@drgnslayr i agree totally ridiculous. I hate the deal they signed with TWC

Dec 21, 2015 04:34 PM #14

@HawkInMizery I get all games, but I hate my family and friend can't get it. They don't even have a choice in western ks.

Dec 21, 2015 05:29 PM #15

This is one I am not going to get to watch as I don't have any freakin' cable or DirectTV and I'm not taking the chance of getting another freakin' virus off of some shady firstrow site. I'll listen to Jayhawk radio and make my own images.

@Texas-Hawk-10 I'm pretty sure I don't have CBSSports network on my DirectTV. I'm out of town, so I'll have to check next week!

Dec 21, 2015 06:46 PM #17

Crap CBS sports...So no ESPN3. Well at least I will get my sleep instead of staying up late to catch the re-broadcast.

@Crimsonorblue22 I had to stream the game on Saturday from my computer to my tv. thankfully I can do it wirelessly but its still a PITA

Dec 21, 2015 09:41 PM #20

@wissoxfan83 says 221 for direct tv, is that the same channels everywhere?

Dec 21, 2015 09:51 PM #21

Luckily I do have CBS sports as part of the extended sport tier..

Every KSU, MU and UK game has been available for me to watch, every Big 10, every ACC, every SEC game...KU? not so much.

I sill hate %&$%*&^ Zenger...I am afraid things will only get worse next season...:(

Dec 21, 2015 10:02 PM #22

@Crimsonorblue22 Yep, same #'s everywhere, but I thought I checked once and we didn't get it.

Dec 21, 2015 10:40 PM #23

I guess it all comes down to cost vs. value. My cable system also has CBS Sports on its extended sport tier, but I can't justify paying the extra bucks to access the handful of games/programs that I really want to see.

Sucks that I can't watch the KU game Tuesday on cable, but at least I'm fortunate to live outside of the blackout area. Meanwhile, don't be surprised if we see a la carte channel selection soon.

Dec 21, 2015 10:47 PM #24

@JayHawkFanToo You can bitch all you want, but he has no control over tomorrow's game. KU does NOT control the broadcast rights for non conference road games. If you're going bitch about not seeing the tomorrow, take your complaints to the people actually in control of tomorrow's game. The Mountain West conference has a TV deal with CBSSN for their basketball rights so if you can't watch the game tomorrow, blame the Mountain West because they control the TV rights for their teams and they're the ones who sold this game to CBSSN.

Dec 21, 2015 11:22 PM #25

@Texas-Hawk-10

Read my post, please. I was not bitching about tomorrow's game since...for a change, I do have CBS Sport as I mentioned...I wish all blacked out games were on CBS Sports...

Dec 22, 2015 01:29 PM #26

For anyone that has google Fiber it's channel 202, found it last night.

Dec 22, 2015 02:53 PM #27

@Texas-Hawk-10 we like to bitch a lot about SZ! Every chance we get we're going to do it! Even if he has nothing to do w/it, were going to bitch.!image.jpg ↗
