I"ve never been overwhelmed by our streak. I've always wanted national titles more and have a sort of ho hum attitude towards winning the league.

Then I read this: "3 times KU has kept the streak alive starting the season with 5 new starters". Wow! Pick my jaw up off the floor type of wow.

This article is well written, extolling the virtues of KU basketball.

The second we LOSE the streak, those who didn't care much for it will suddenly care. Watching a team like ISU collect the glory with us lowered below them is something Jayhawk fans SHOULD care about and never want to happen.

I know I care immensely about every game we play in.

@drgnslayr Well I felt a little funny typing what I did because it's not like I hope we don't win the league each year! And you're right about the day we don't win it, it will feel very strange, but being a Badger fan this year is giving me some experience in feeling bad about a team I love!

I think you already know this... but I am a Badger fan, too. Tough to watch this year.

@drgnslayr It's freeing up some time, because last year I HAD to watch, and this year it hasn't been a priority.

Enjoyed Bill's press conference yesterday. I confess, when he talks about the conference titles it struck a chord with me. Maybe it's why we enjoy conference play so much... Because we can be certain that Bill Self will do everything in his power to dominate against good teams that we are all familiar with.

@approxinfinity I have always admired the way Coach Self speaks at press conferences and on Hawk Talk. He speaks spontaneously and without any pretense or affectation. His agenda always seems to be to give a thoughtful and direct answer to the actual question asked. I don't know of any other coach who handles himself so well.

@wissoxfan83 KU's dominance in the Big 12 is approaching legendary status. John Wooden legendary.

Seth Davis mentioned it after the game in the sense that Coach doesn't get enough credit for the 11 now including those 3 years when he had all new players. I relish the fact that this team doesn't want to be the team that ends the streak.

@Crimsonorblue22 Texass was behind the whole game. Really going to miss Ridley. Tech has some outside shooting from what little I saw. Taylor scored 34 and w/o that would have been a beating. Tubby has a good team, not anyone in particular exceptional. They are even balanced I'd say. Love that UT lost. Welcome to Big 12 Shaka!

Just read that DICKIE v and Brent Muffberger are calling our game Monday.

Night all. OU beat ISU. No. 1 (AP) vs. No. 1 (coaches poll) doesn't happen very often. Glad we don't have to travel.

I mostly agree. I can't stand Musburger and Vitale has become a cartoon character and Duke cheerleader but you have to have some respect for one of the few men that has coached HS, college and the NBA.
