Let his critics doubt him.

Time to focus on TCU and go America all over their asses.

@Crimsonorblue22 never under estimate what things may distract a young man barely in his 20's, if I were to bet this situation didn't help him much, maybe took his focus off the game a little. As you stated however, there is no excuse, I expect Mason to be back to his normal consistent studly self for the remainder of the season.

By gawd, every time I turn the TV on in the comfort of my home, I expect to see the team ready to play at 100%. I don't care if they just traveled to the farthest west and farthest east big 12 locations in two days, or if their mommy and daddy are stuck in a blizzard. If coach can't have them ready to play, then he's probably too PC and coddling the younger generation. Plus he should be playing Diallo and Bragg so our guards don't turn it over so much. This is undeniable proof of why we lost to Wichita State and Stanford. Clearly it all goes back to Brady Morningstar.

/end post-loss fan freakout

This loss is not on Mason. It is on Self. He did not get his team come ready to play. But Self will never take the blame. He will put his players under the bus will never acknowledge his mistakes.

Sure CS needs to take some blame, but I'm not sold that he alone is to blame for not getting his team "ready to play." You can only do so much as a coach. These are still young men, and sh*t happens. I was a starter in HS, and during my senior year, my girlfriend broker up with me. REALLY messed with my head, and I know my head wasn't 100% in the game over several weeks. What a wussy, but you know "love." We got back together, and I was back to normal. Who knows what goes on with these young men. Love, School, Playing time, Family, Illness, Injury, etc. Now, if we start having multiple lack of effort games, THEN I will pounce on Self! LOL

@hawkmoon2020 I would agree with you, except we have lost there three straight years, and had similar losses the last few years to Stanford, WSU, and Texas. He obviously is not preparing them correctly for defensive pressure.

Jan 14, 2016 06:16 PM #8

I agree with that! Though I was referring to being ready "mentally," and if you're not ready mentally, even a lot of "preparation" may not suffice.

@DinarHawk Texas?

Jan 14, 2016 06:30 PM #10

@Crimsonorblue22 Game in 2014 with Wiggins. Got outtoughed and showed little fight at Texas. Played tougher the next time and blew them out

Jan 14, 2016 06:32 PM #11

@DinarHawk so beating them the last 3 games is due to coaching or players? Did we out tough them when we won?

Jan 14, 2016 08:23 PM #12

He's got to find a way to leave that type of "noise" in the locker room. It's your family and I get that you worried and you want them to see you play but I don't think he should have been receiving updates pregame unless there was an emergency.

@DanR Pleeeeeze! Blaming Brady Morningstar for our current "give a sh**t attitude on the team play is like blaming "Dubya" for Obama's failures!

We lost a game. Okay, so far we have lost two games. More than likely it is going to happen again this season. I keep reading about players needing to toughen up. It appears some of us fans should toughen up as well. WVU shot 47 free throws, yet barely scored 70 points in their "Home Game of the Year". It was hard for our guys to get into a rhythm. They tried, coach tried and we still lost. We received a lot of quick whistles, they were allowed to get up close with no fear of a foul being called. That's the game I watched anyway. It's okay, we are still doing better than most.
