Kluber vs Jays Game 4
Oct 18, 2016 08:42 PM #1

This could be possibly lights out for Joey & a pennant for the Tribe but he's still smack in da lead off spot despite havin abt 10 K's in last 20 at bats. Maybe Gibbons is a genius in disguise after all. After 1 1/2 innings no score

@globaljaybird You mean just an American League pennant for the Tribe, right? Once the Cubs clear the table of Dodgers the WS is theirs.

Oct 18, 2016 09:36 PM #3

@brooksmd Don't forget " the curse" pops. Them Dodgers just stole one at Wrigley & can close em out at home, Heaven forbid.

@globaljaybird The "goat" is on the spit and will be ready for the celebration. Wouldn't be surprised if Harry Caray and Jack Brickhouse show up for the celebration.

@globaljaybird But as the Royals did so many times this year, it now looks like the Cubs have left their bats somewhere and can't remember where. I've felt the WS was theirs to lose with the team they have this year and it's beginning to look like they may find a way to lose it.

As much as I despise the Cubs, the playoff format hurts the deepest team in baseball, a team that cleared the rest of baseball by an amazing 8 games! Rest every few games means the Dodgers will be able to use Kershaw 3 times if it goes 7 games masking the lack of starting pitching depth in that squad. Meanwhile a five deep starting corp for the Cubs means only several of them pitch more than once in a 7 game series.

There's lots of things I don't like about MLB these days and switching from the day to day of the regular season to a postseason with many built in days off is one of them.

@wissoxfan83 JMO, but I've a quite similar issue with March Madness & the incessant tv timeouts aiding the much weaker teams & often shifting momentum of games to an inferior team. Guess if I rooted for an inferior team it might not be as unnerving - ya think ?:smiling_imp:

@approxinfinity Rumor is the Jays won't re sign Joey NO.BATS as he's a free agent & da Jays are OUTTA DA PLAYOFFS...yeeeaaahhh !!!

Oct 20, 2016 12:22 AM #12

@globaljaybird wow. That series is already over! Jays went out with a whimper. Congrats to Francona and crew for taking care of business!

Well some of the Cubs have found their bats. Now Rizzo needs to find his.

Oct 20, 2016 02:02 AM #14

And Rizzo goes KA-BOOM!!

Oct 20, 2016 03:05 AM #15

At this rate Dodger fans will be doing their famous 7th inning two-step tonight. Cubs 10-2 bottom 6th.

Oct 20, 2016 03:38 AM #16

Yep, if the cameras would show it you'd see a stream of cars headed for the freeways. Mostly Cubs fans still in the stands.

@brooksmd I saw alot of empty seats in LA during the Giants series- in the early innings & thought WTH is wrong in LA... really is like a whole different country.

Oct 20, 2016 04:13 AM #18

@brooksmd Chapman lurking in da shadows but gets to save it for game 5 tmro.

Oct 20, 2016 04:23 AM #19

@globaljaybird Regular season games you'd think games only go 7 innings there. Win, lose or draw they leave.

Oct 20, 2016 04:34 AM #20

@brooksmd I got chewed out streaming the game in a show tonite when wifey got the text on "outta data"...But I did shutter down when David Frizzell broke out "I'm Gonna Hire a Wino To Decorate Our Home". That was just way too cool a memory not to relive again...
