Ouch. St. Bonaventure has the win at home and storms the court ↗. Unfortunately still a wee bit o time left on the clock - the VCU coach asks the refs for a technical and they agree, his player sinks the FTs... and they go on to win the game in OT.

You got to feel bad for the team, you win on the court only to have your fans lose it for you.
I agree, definitely gotta wait for the fat lady to sing, and even then not the best idea ever... but still kinda feel sorry for them.

The school gets a slap on the wrist but no financial penalty like other conferences
A huge fine not only draws attention to the issue, it also makes the university dig in their pockets.
Let's face it... storming is allowed by the university when it happens. They didn't have a plan in place to stop it or limit it. Big fines get their attention quickly!
The real key is to let the visiting team exit safely. After that... if dingleberries want to get violent and screw up, they are doing it with their own clan.
The PAC 12 fines schools $25k, $50k and $100k for first, second and third or more court rushes. The SEC fines are much higher at $50k, $100 and $250k; even the Big East fined Marquette $5k for rushing the court after beating Villanova. The Big 12 policy is "to control and not fine" which I think is BS.

Yeah, but who would plan on a court storming in a game against VCU? Except the Morri twins, perhaps?

I think it is BS because if 10,000 or 5,000 or even a couple of thousand fans really want to storm the court, no amount of prevention or security personnel can stop it. Even if you have 100 or 200 security people they will be outnumbered 20 or 30 to 1 and will just run over them...what are they going to do? mace them? tase them? tear gas them? I don't think so. Fans need to be educated on fan game behavior with serious consequences to them, the program and school.
Perhaps a rule from the Institution, put in the personal conduct manual.
Or a Kansas law prescribing the same punishment as one might get if someone hops the fence at Royals Stadium.
If it were something that the powers that be wanted to stop, you can create stiff penalties. Run the announcement before the game, at halftime, and in the last five minutes. This would stop the flood of students, but still not the few idiots that are drunk or that penalties don't persuade.
Not sure I see it as a real problem yet.
Since we lead 76-47 (all time in Manhattan, according to wikipedia) who storms what when we win? We have more of a homecourt advantage than they do. Do we storm? Do they storm if they stay within 10 points?
I don't know what to do.
