How did we win that game?? At the line
Feb 14, 2017 05:18 AM #1

We made more than they attempted when all other game stats were within percentage points. Who would have thought with all the ugly clanks that we win it at the stripe?

I was arguing for threes down the stretch but driving it and scoring with the clock off brought her home.

DG hit some HUGE 3's during that stretch too! I think he hit 3.

He sure did! And I was cursing him all game wondering where the hell he had disappeared to this season. But he re-emerged at just the right time! Hopefully this gets him going, because w/out him, our team is basically Frank, Josh and Lucas.

@hawkmoon2020 5 I think

Amazing win. We showed some championship type defense in this game. Frank won it at the line.

Positives: Aside from the usual dudes, Vick seemed to have a quality game with some good plays. Bad plays were counteracted with scoring.

Negatives: Landen Lucas was 2-7 from the line. Missed bunnies. Bragg joins Lucas in that respect. 1 rebound and 5 fouls in 18 minutes of play. And your demeanor was awful. Hubris killed many a talent.

I love this win, but I wonder what kind of blood sacrifice Bill Self had to perform. Have we burned all of our March luck early?

Ironic that Press Virginia had more to's than we did and could not handle the press.

@betterfireE

Lucas was huge and I mean...HUGE... at the end creating turnover on the inbound plays, rebounding and putting back Mason's missed layup.

@Fightsongwriter I hollered my rear off the entire 2nd half to keep drivin the rock even tho we were missing a boatload of FT's, if no other reason but to get Ahmed out of the damn game. No one could guard him the first game either. He literally ate KU for lunch IMO. In the end it was the diff, especially for Frank who had a pretty forgettable night shooting FG% wise. Abt the 7min mark I was screaming for Bill to pull rank & make em quit shooting quick jump shots but that never happened till under 3 min. Am going to sit down & enjoy that last 10 min + overtime again this afternoon, but will skip the first 30 min for sure. This one was sweet & now we get a high noon showdown in Wacko on Sat for the BG 12 conf marbles...YEEEAAAAAHHHHH!!!

@JayHawkFanToo. At the end when we really needed it LL finally finished at the hoop. The rest of the night was an adventure.

I wish he would play like the 6'10" senior savage Lucas I know he could. Dunk the crap out of everything and roar in the face of the opponent all the way down. Savage Lucas. The piece that can get us to the promised land
