FAVORITE DAY OF THE YEAR
Mar 16, 2017 02:00 PM #1

Other than maybe xmas, today is that day. It floats my boat. Bring on the madness.

Mar 16, 2017 02:04 PM #2

Better than Christmas in my book. Hands down!

Mar 16, 2017 02:09 PM #3

It's my Super Bowl especially since I don't have a favorite NFL team.

Mar 16, 2017 02:28 PM #4

Calm before the storm..... I love it, too!

Mar 16, 2017 02:30 PM #5

I remember setting up my own bracket, and furiously writing down every team that CBS announced. This was way before the internet.

Mar 16, 2017 02:36 PM #6

@KUSTEVE

You mean you still don't do this?

Its a tradition I have. Still haven't perfected it in 20+ years

Mar 16, 2017 02:46 PM #7

Here's a bold prediction: I don't get much work done today or tomorrow.

Mar 16, 2017 03:02 PM #8

@BeddieKU23 I've gotten lazy. I used to rush down and buy a USA Today the next morning after the bracket announcement because they had the best coverage by far of the tourney back then.

Mar 16, 2017 03:06 PM #9

Easily favorite day of the year, especially when KU plays the 2nd day, lets me relax and enjoy the first day w no nerves

Mar 16, 2017 03:14 PM #10

I love it, but not up there with Christmas. Christmas rarely disappoints the living crap out of me every year but two in my lifetime.

Mar 16, 2017 03:18 PM #11

@nuleafjhawk great point!

Mar 16, 2017 03:29 PM #12

About 20 years ago I received the greatest March Madness gift possible. A 2 day winter storm, school cancelled on Thursday and Friday, middle of March 1997. Sheer bliss!! Kids were too young to care that I hogged the TV all day, the wife was glad to have me home (I think) and it was just a magical day. Of course we had to play Arizona a week later and ruined it all, but that's another story.

I also used to rush to the store to get the USA Today. Had to get there early because they'd sell out. Internet's taken care of all that of course, and really the coverage is so overwhelming I haven't even read anything about it this year!

@KUSTEVE Mine too -Mine to - -for sure. I'll be watching ALL day and through the finish tonight get my belly full of basketball today. - -Hoping West Virginia and Iowa State get the conference started off right today, we need these wins put out one of those SIT DOWN AND SHUT UP statements to the rest of the Nation, show them our conference is THE conference. - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

Mar 16, 2017 04:00 PM #14

@KUSTEVE I still do. - -I make up like 6 poster board brackets here at the house just for s - - - - and giggles no money or anything but I get down and literally draw up hand draw the brackets, take a ruler estimate the boxes and such - -a lot of work but I just do.

Then I enter a lot of different tourney challenges off the inner net hope to win something, this year I'm in the : CBS Sports Bracket Challenge 3 entries - - I'm in the Capital One March Madness Bracket Challenge 6 entries- - I'm in the Yahoo tourney Pickem 2017- - 4 entries , I'm in the ESPN Tournament Challenge 7 entries,- -I'm in the whb 810 Bracket time for 1 entry ,- - I'm in the USA today Bracket Challenge 5 entries- - I'm in the Truity Credit Union Bracket challenge for an entry- - I'm in the Fox/SI Bracket Challenge , for an entry - -I'm in the All State NCAA March Madness Bracket Challenge for an entry I'm in the KMAJ 1,000,000 Bracket Challenge so umm ya keeps me busy, but I LOVE IT. - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

Tom crean just got fired at IU.

Mar 16, 2017 05:12 PM #16

@Evidently, Mizzou already hired fired coach Cuonzo Martin. Probably should have waited for Crean who might have given the Tigers a better chance at running a clean program. Of course, Tom might have given MU a giant hopping....

Mar 16, 2017 05:26 PM #17

@KUSTEVE Tomorrow is typically my favourite day since KU generally plays Fri/Sun. You must not be a real KU fan!!!! Joking.

Mar 16, 2017 06:23 PM #18

This is my favorite day of the year. This is Christmas for me.

Mar 16, 2017 07:12 PM #19

Someday, I want to be in Las Vegas for this 4 day spread. It is supposed to be a blast as thousands of casual and pro gamblers descend on Sports Books in various casinos to bet on and watch 48 games in 92 hours. Like a Sunday NFL sports bar on steroids! Supposed to be really entertaining as the days progress and the drinking to lament, or celebrate, gets serious.

Mar 17, 2017 03:51 PM #20

@mayjay I've an old high school buddy who takes in that Vegas betting scene annually at this time of year. Says it is unbelievably topnotch excitement. Sadly, a Mizzou grad....

Mar 17, 2017 04:03 PM #21

So day 2 of Christmas/Super Bowl/ etc has arrived, and KU plays even better!

Much better!

Had the day originally scheduled off work and work has just sucked so wasn't/ didn't take it.

But! Jayhawks played at 5:50 so it worked out!

Mar 18, 2017 03:57 AM #24

@Bwag I made a lucky gamble too!

Mar 18, 2017 04:49 AM #25

@mayjay I have a friend who did that this year flew out yesterday. I plan on sending him money to make some prop bets for me.

Mar 18, 2017 04:51 AM #26

@HawkInMizery I know there weren't many upsets, but I wonder how the favorites did against the spread overall?

Mar 18, 2017 04:53 AM #27

@mayjay That's a good question. There were a lot of close games over these first two days. Didn't see a lot of blowouts until the latter part of today.

Mar 18, 2017 04:53 AM #28

@HawkInMizery I will check it tomorrow during lulls.

Mar 18, 2017 04:55 AM #29

@mayjay good luck betting if you are placing any tomorrow!

Mar 18, 2017 04:56 AM #30

@HawkInMizery I only bet if I go there, but thanks for the luck!
