Friday, July 7, 9:30C ESPN2 Josh v. Frank

While there's already a lot of chatter about Fultz and Tatum in the summer league early games, my focus is on the Josh v. Frank matchup. After a year of playing against each other in pick up games and practices, I'll bet Josh is smiling just waiting for Frank to try to take it to the rim against him. RCJH

Kings just signed another PG in George Hill. Not sure Frank makes the roster anymore. On the bright side that would mean he gets out of Sacramento. Also means his summer league play is now twice as important.

Looks like a very late start for the 9:30 game on ESPN2. I'm guessing the start will be after 10 PM. Waiting.... Ball is having a terrible game. Good.

So much hype! Face of the lakers! 😳

@stoptheflop not sure why Ingram is playing in the summer league.

Jul 08, 2017 03:14 AM #8

@Crimsonorblue22 They just said the Lakers rebuilt Ingram's shot, so it is probably so he can really get it tuned.

Our friend Cheick Diallo started for the Pelicans today. 27 and 10, no blocks, in 34 minutes.

@mayjay saw some of it. He's matured, fundamentals looked good. He just needed a few years.

Jul 08, 2017 03:26 AM #10

Josh doing it his way. And the FT was perfect. Now, we want Mason. RCJH

Didn't get started til after 10 pm because the first 2 games ran late. The first quarter is up tied 22-22. JJ looks decent got 5 points and 3 boards. BIFM only played a few minutes and got a an assist but missed a runner that was half way down. Did anyone see Diallo play today?? Dude looked pretty damn good with 27 and 10. He's starting to develop into the player most thought he could be. Buddy Hield also plays for the kings.

@kjayhawks frank hit a floater!

Jul 08, 2017 03:50 AM #13

Frank's getting a lot of first half minutes. Got his first basket and has a couple of assists. Josh has been quiet.

Jul 08, 2017 03:52 AM #14

Frank has 2 boards. Josh has at least 1 ft, was an and 1. watching royals too. Looked good!

Jul 08, 2017 04:18 AM #15

Frank proving he can run the offense, making everyone better with him. Have a feeling guys are going to like playing with him and that's going to carry water.

Jul 08, 2017 04:48 AM #16

@approxinfinity they haven't signed him yet.

Jul 08, 2017 04:49 AM #17

Lakers should have picked fox

Jul 08, 2017 04:52 AM #18

Magic not sleeping well tonight!🔮

Jul 08, 2017 05:15 AM #19

Fox looked good.
Josh looked good once he got settled in. Finished with 18, 8, and 2.
Marquese Chriss is talented but is lazy and has a horrible attitude.
Mike James tried to do way too much by himself and needs to pass more.
Loved seeing Frank, even if he didn't play that well. He'll always be one of my favorite Jayhawks no matter how he does in the NBA.

Jul 08, 2017 12:28 PM #20

Where can I find box scores to these games?

Jul 08, 2017 01:06 PM #21

@chriz

ESPN has a section dedicated to the Summer League... ↗

Jul 08, 2017 01:18 PM #22

Chriss had 9 fouls and Papagiannis had 8. Lol.

With that 4 year contract for the 27 million dollars, Josh will have time to develop his outside shot. I would imagine that the Suns have hopes of his becoming the face of that franchise. Good to see his freethrows dropping last night.

Jul 08, 2017 02:17 PM #24

The way Frank ran point, it look like KU's offense. Whoever was running the Sun's point, I couldn't see any particular scheme. Same thing when Fox ran the point; I couldn't detect an offensive scheme. I really hope Self's offense as Frank runs it has value to an NBA decision maker.
