I want to applaud and call attention to this white virtual piece of paper floating on a magnificently subtle background. I am blown away at how perfect the site looks and feels now.

This is elegant.

@approxinfinity has hit my sweet spot on web site design. It functions beautifully, effortlessly and intuitively. Its a perfect fusion of analog and digital visual cues leading to seamless functionality. Its so elegantly simple in feel that it reminded me of the first time I used one of Steve's iPods. I am a design afficionado and the highest compliment I can pay any design is the following:

a.) it is what I always hoped for but needed a designer to bring from silence to light (a tip of the hat to Louis Kahn);

b.) it is so organically right it seems like it has always been their waiting to be discovered intact as it is;

c.) immediately after seeing it I can no longer recall what previous designs looked like, or how we functioned with anything else;

d.) it flat works.

Congratulations, @approxinfinity and lucky us.

Rock Chalk!

@jaybate-1.0 thanks man. if we get tired of it we can switch back, or try something else. it was just feeling extra vanilla tonight.

As with any css overrides there are often unforseen consequences. I'm just a hack. The nodebb guys deserve the credit here. I noticed that when you are loading a long thread, the picture, which is already heavily reduced in quality and pixelated, will get stretched tremendously and only a fraction of the picture will show on phones for those transitions. I probably need to rethink this one. Everything the nodebb guys did was with careful consideration so I'll try to carry my bowling ball with 2 hands through this China shop.

Beats the 247 (and now scout) layout any day!

Killing the background for now as it caused issues for some.

@approxinfinity ... I, too, can see marked improvement to the site. The overall functionality is excellent and intuitive. Just a "great job" by all involved. You should be proud of yourself. Thanks for making this a FUN experience for all.

@Red.Rooster Thanks man! Glad we could get the upgrade knocked out in the bball offseason; that was a big win.

@approxinfinity

Same great content, but less filling look.

Oh, well, it was a beta that pointed the way.

Maybe some day.
