Big basketball watch afternoon/tonight
Nov 20, 2017 11:07 PM #1

Gonna kick back and get my fill of hoops tonight. - So glad College ball is here.

Watching Wichita State & California right now - Cal in control pretty much the entire half. 47-38 at the half. - some dude for Cal averaged 5 points a game last year , averaging 25 points ppg this year - he has 26 points AT THE HALF named Coleman.

Then gonna watch me some Oklahoma State/Texas A&M at like 6:00 and then Baylor/Wisconsin - ahh yes is the season. - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

@jayballer54 Coleman kicking wsu butt

Nov 20, 2017 11:26 PM #3

I'm not defending Wichita St here, because they are playing pretty uninspired basketball right now, but every piece of crap Cal is throwing up seems to be going in. 8/11 from 3. Just one of those days I guess. Shockers might be finding out that it's harder to play every game when you're the favorite and not the cute mid major underdog.

Nov 20, 2017 11:28 PM #4

@jayballer54 HAHA! YuP WSU getting spanked like a puppy RN (right now) Its kinda awesome

Nov 20, 2017 11:30 PM #5

Cal lost to the UC Riverside Highlanders by 8. Wichita St was a 19 point favorite entering the game. This is pretty surprising.

Nov 20, 2017 11:35 PM #6

Odd to see WSU getting out hustled, they have a tough schedule and better pick it up quick.

Nov 20, 2017 11:37 PM #7

@KirkIsMyHinrich wsu getting angry, coming back

Nov 20, 2017 11:39 PM #8

@Crimsonorblue22 Wichita St is too good and too experienced not to make a run or two here.

Nov 20, 2017 11:41 PM #9

@KirkIsMyHinrich @Crimsonorblue22 Id bet at this point WSU comes back and wins by 8 or 10. Cal hasn't even been challenged yet and young enough to panic once it's close again.

Nov 20, 2017 11:46 PM #10

Wichita St can't throw a rock in the ocean today so they are going to have to do it by getting turnovers and scoring in transition.

Meanwhile, 3 pointers are hitting the rim and rolling in for Cal.

Nov 20, 2017 11:51 PM #11

Really tough call on Shamet there.

Nov 21, 2017 12:12 AM #12

@kjayhawks Good call.

Nov 21, 2017 12:41 AM #13

Mercy Coleman the one that was pretty much the one responsible for the47-38 half time lead for Cal - Also had ALOT to do with them losing. - -Mercy was he/Cal out o control -- -just wild bumbling stumbling throwing up shots from what seemed like their ankles - trying to drive 1-3 Coleman was costly in the end. - -No answer For WSU press constant throwing to the corner and getting pinned. Thing is I didn't see their Coach calling time and making any adjustment.

I'll say this - -I sure haven't and after watching again tonight - I'm sure not losing any sleep with Connor transferring to WSU. - He does not impress me at all. I think when he came to KU it was a simple case he thought he was going to start or play a lot more - and when he didn't get what he thought he deserved - he pouted and transferred out. He really has showed me nothing even since he has been at Wichita St, 1-11 today- sorry he just DOES NOT impress me at all, I'm glad we have who we have and they can have Connor. - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

Nov 21, 2017 12:44 AM #14

WSU ends the game on a 14-2 run to win by 10. Experience really counted on this game.

Nov 21, 2017 12:56 AM #15

@jayballer54 think cal's coach stayed in the locker room or went to the beach at half. 😳 Can we say press break?

Nov 21, 2017 12:57 AM #16

What's the deal w/okie states uni's? Did I forget their colors?🤔

All the teams well most are displaying different uni's for the tourney I think - -they showed all of them earlier it's just one of those things I think. - -You remember Ku and some other teams wore some kind of different uni's I think what was it last year or the year before in s a tourney of some kind I think you remember? - I think this is on the same line. - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

Been watching creighton play.

Nov 21, 2017 02:59 AM #20

Badgers getting smoked right now by Baylor.

Nov 21, 2017 03:05 AM #21

@wissox at least it's another good win for the B12 if they hold on. I'm still kinda split on how tough I think the league will be.

Nov 21, 2017 03:08 AM #22

@wissox Catching up!

Nov 21, 2017 03:11 AM #23

Badgers suck at FT's. Baylor sucks at coaching. See which team sucks more!

Nov 21, 2017 03:13 AM #24

Missouri barely beat emporia state, hardly anyone there, at mizzou. Same ole.

Nov 21, 2017 03:28 AM #25

@Crimsonorblue22 Did Porter play?

Nov 21, 2017 03:29 AM #26

Listened to Eye on College basketball podcast today from CBS. The episode was about the Ball saga and the Champions classic. They talked several minutes about MSU, then 20 more about Duke, then like 20 seconds about KU, then 12 more about Kentucky. Grrrrrrr.....

Nov 21, 2017 03:39 AM #27

Iowa got beat by Louisiana Lafayette.

Nov 21, 2017 03:42 AM #28

Nov 21, 2017 03:51 AM #29

@wissox not michael, going to a specialist

Nov 21, 2017 04:17 AM #30

Nov 21, 2017 04:24 AM #33

@wissox I told you embiid was a good trash talker!🤣

Nov 21, 2017 04:25 AM #34

@wissox

It is being reported that Porter will be seeing an specialist ↗, apparently his injury is more serious than previously thought.

Nov 21, 2017 04:26 AM #35

@JayHawkFanToo I said that

Nov 21, 2017 04:31 AM #36

@Crimsonorblue22

Oops. You post did not show up until I refreshed the browser. When I use the iPad I have to constantly refresh otherwise recent posts don’t always show. I need to check the browser settings although I have noticed the same thing with Windows, when I scroll up the bottom posts disappear.

Nov 21, 2017 04:52 AM #37

@JayHawkFanToo Android phone doesn't do that. I just keep checking the notification icon for new posts.

Nov 21, 2017 04:58 AM #38

@mayjay

On the iPad, when I get a notification and click on it, it takes me to a post and when I click on refresh, a bunch of new post show up underneath. I like the iPad because it has a big screen, it is light and I can use while watching tv; pretty convenient but with some issues.

Nov 21, 2017 06:00 AM #39

@JayHawkFanToo - apparently he and his mother were seen boarding a flight to Dallas today. Tiger board seems in a consensus that it is a hip necrosis, but nothing from Fizzou administration. Still nothing definitive.

Nov 21, 2017 08:54 AM #40

@Gorilla72 @Crimsonorblue22

Thanks for the info. This is very serious condition that if true will certainly end his season and could mean the end of his basketball career. I hate to see it on anyone but particularly on such as young and promising prospect.

1st half you posted something similar and then they fell apart. You jinxed us again. I'm kind of miffed at one kid who fooolishly fouled a 3 point shooter, then missed a dunk. Really cost us the game.

Nov 21, 2017 01:03 PM #42

@wissox I jinxed them? Ha! I got them as close as they were!

I think they managed this one all by themselves.

Too many dumb plays, turning down open shots, missed bunnies, point guard looked almost panicky at times -- all curable. They will defintely learn, and I think you will see some good stuff.

Nov 21, 2017 03:28 PM #45

@mayjay I think your comment jinxed then. You're probably a big 10 hater and you got out your bobby knight doll and started poking needles in it. You chanted something about woody Hayes punching Clemson players and abracadabra Badgers miraculous comeback is thwarted.

Nov 21, 2017 03:47 PM #46

Dang if what your saying about M Porter is true then that's not good, may not get on the floor again for Fizzou, can't stand Fizzou but hate to see Porter have that if that's the case. - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

Nov 21, 2017 03:54 PM #47

@wissox 1. Generally neutral about the Big 10 except for hating Penn State. Went to a Big 10 school (UMich). 2. First memories are of living in Akron and was Ohio State fan, but definitely was a Woody Hayes hater even before the Gator Bowl and before I was in Ann Arbor. 3. Was cheering for you and Wisconsin last night but for some reason you are insisting on blaming me, even though you almost gave up on them. ("What's with them negative waves, Moriarty?"). 4. Now I am sad and am gonna cwy. 5. Yes, Bobby K hater.

@wissox @jayballer54 I don't hate the Packers. My DIL's family has season tickets so I am angling to go to Lambeau sometime!

And, @wissox, never fear: I am (as I say to my 4 year old grandson) only PRETEND cwying! Waaah Waaah Waaah! So that I can, pusuant to @JayHawkFanToo's instructions, make my eyes look really swell!

Nov 21, 2017 07:43 PM #54

@mayjay I'd give anything to be able to see a game at Lambeau, only NFL team owned by the public - Even though our season went to hell in a hand basket when Aaron went down. - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

Baylor looks rattled against Creighton as they trail by 9 at the half. That Hall of Fame Classic is loaded this year with UCLA, Baylor, Wisconsin and Creighton. I tell ya Creighton looks scary good, their defense is the best I've seen so far this year.

Nov 22, 2017 03:57 AM #60

@wissox

I thought Faylor Starrs were declared an epistemic toxic waste dump after last season or three.

How can they still have a program?

Did Cal turn in a black glove and get a kiss of death?!!!

Nov 22, 2017 04:56 AM #63

Baylor comes out and battles back for the W. I'm fairly impressed with bears, they got down 11 early in the second half and put the clamps on Creighton defensively, was a fun game watch.

@jayballer54 - when is the last time Chaminade wan a game in there own tournament? Wow....

Nov 22, 2017 09:25 PM #66

@Gorilla72

In 1982 Chaminade beat then 8-0 #1 Virginia that featured phenom and 3 times Naismith POY Ralph Sampson in one the biggest upsets of all time.

Nov 22, 2017 09:29 PM #67

@JayHawkFanToo - I should have researched this. Thanks! According to the Chaminade website, they are 7/78 over the years. They beat Rick Barnes’ Texas team twice (But who hasn’t?). O didn’t realize Chaminade is a Div II team.

Nov 22, 2017 09:40 PM #68

@Gorilla72 Hmmmm......Similarly, KU is 12-71 in football over the past 83 games. We are a Div I team playing against Div I teams. You just might think we could do substantially better than a Div II bb team playing Div I teams over that many games.

Then again, Chaminade gets to recruit people to Hawaii. Lawrence--AFH-- is the Mecca of college hoops, but that isn't a paradise. Maybe we can put some palm trees in the stadium reno?

Nov 22, 2017 10:13 PM #69
