Just looked like it on the news.

Yes

Wow, not even Halloween! Has there ever been an earlier snow?

Oct 15, 2018 03:16 AM #4

I don’t like it!

@wissox

No snow in KC yet but cold. We did not have much of a spring going from Winter almost straight into Summer and looks like we might also skip Fall and go straight into Wnter.

@wissox I believe the news anchor said it’s the earliest recorded accumulating snow in KS.

The accumulation wasn't much but as early as I can remember. Here in central Kansas we have had a 92 degree day, Flooding from rain and now snow in about a 8 day period. It was 26 degrees when I started my truck this morning.

@dylans

It was all of 0.2" in some places and none in Olathe or Johnson County that I know. The previous earliest measurable snow was October 17, 1898 but it was a more respectable 3.3".

I saw it on the last day of summer once in Wisconsin, and drove to church on Mothers Day 1996 with a beautiful blanket of snow on the ground.

It snowed in Junction City KS last night. I stayed at a cabin near Milford Lake on a trip to take some photos of rural schoolhouses. Expected to get some fall color and instead got some wintery shots.

@Crimsonorblue22 She (Libby) is 13 months old. We got her last November, so she saw some snow last winter too.
