Thoughts on Golden State/Portland
May 17, 2019 03:11 AM #1

I am not a big fan of the NBA, but do like to watch the Warriors (who I think will win the series in 5). Also like to watch the Celtics (last year when Kyrie was injured - ball hog, Boston, dump him....), as well as the Mavs. Those three teams have one thing in common, they pass or in the case of the Celtics did pass the ball to open teammates.
Watching Portland, though, here in game 2 I cannot help but to be in-my-face reminded that Dotson could play in such a system quite easily and even flourish. I have said it before and now say it again, I think that he will stay in the draft and be a first round pick.
If we get Hampton and Wilson or Achiuwa to go along with Enaruna and Braun and McBride that is a Top 5 class. Dok, Wilson, Enaruna , McBride and Hampton is a badass starting 5 with 3pt shooting ability. Very young, but damn does it ooze potential.
Second 5? Dave, Mitch, Ochai, Garrett and Braun. That, people, is a Big12 Championship team with aspirations for a national one.
Hell, get creative, use them in platoons and or even mix and match.... A shuffle here and a shuffle there and - wallah! - 2 starting lineups with enough depth to be able to give everyone rest. Thoughts anyone?

@Marco d dot looked pretty good today, with the combine players. He couldn't hit a 3, which is probably what they want him to work on. They didn't show a lot of the games, but I wasn't very impressed w/anybody.

@Marco Here's the irony...we could end up getting Grimes back, and losing DD. No doubt we'll get RJ and Jalen... so does a lineup of RJ...Grimes?....Ochai....Wilson...Doke have the goods?

@KUSTEVE that's a whole lot of unknowns.

Is Wilson more PT ready than Tristan?

I'd rather have Dotson in this situation but my goodness the shooting in this line-up would be quite good... Outside of Doke which doesn't really matter.

@BShark If we do get Grimes back, I hope we get a jazzed up version. He showed flashes last year.

If he does come back he can't play at 209 again. Jeez what's he trying to play the 5

Thank you for saying that optimistically. I was having a hard time being constructive.

@KUSTEVE That line-up sounds a hell of alot better than the one we currently have.

@approxinfinity Good question.
