Family, basketball come together for Wiggins brothers during NCAA Tournament ↗

Stanford runs a triangle, and they're at their best when the inside and outside game work in tandem. Though he's prone to foul trouble, Stefan Nastic is a very efficient interior scorer. When he's effective in the post, Dwight Powell converts his drives and opportunities around the basket, and Chasson Randle and Anthony Brown are hitting from deep, Stanford's a difficult team to guard.

One made shot in Wiggins last game; none for Embiid.

My bracket is officially busted and being a sore loser, I'm done watching basketball until October.

@dylans Im deeply sad. I agree. no more College ball for me til fall. Like I said before I really hope Embiid realizes he has unfinished business here and comes back. I know we will be better next year. But that's not much of a consolation right now.

I don't see how Wiggins can be the top pick after this game. Top 3 at best. Feel sorry for the kid but he didn't take over when we needed him too.

@Lulufulu85 He still could be because NBA teams don't take players exclusively based on performance on the college court. They look at a variety of other aspects that they think are better predictors of success at the next level.

Wiggins' athletic talent and the kind of game that he excels at might be a better indicator of where he is picked.

@Lulufulu85 Another prime example of why I don't like the OAD thing. Sure, Wiggins got great advertising all year long, but in the end - we're going home early. It's definitely not all his fault, not by a long shot. But how long has it been since a OAD has really done anything to win his team the crown? I'd say Carmelo in 2003.

@nuleafjhawk I don't think what Carmelo did got them the crown as much as the bricks we threw from line.

We seem to come up on the short end of the stick every time.

I feel sorry for Tarik...wish we had him another year.

A couple of comments for consideration:
Was Tharpe this year's Elijah? For the past two games, Connor showed he was much more valuable -- he did NOT turn the ball over, he made good passes. When open, he shot the ball effectively. Yet Bill is a stubborn ol' ball coach and he stuck with Tharpe as a starter in each half today with extended playing time. I said three weeks ago that KU cannot go deep without a point guard. Most of us saw our best point guard for the tournament. Bill didn't seem to. Who will be our point guard next year?

What will Bill do about moving Perry to the 3. Over and over we have seen how ineffective Perry is against "Long." That is not going to change, and we usually play a few "long" teams each year . . . and they are usually pretty good.

Lastly, we play poorly against zones . . . because we never play zones ourselves. (I don't remember us playing zone this year at all.) If you don't play zone at all, the only time you practice against it is the day before you play a zone team. That is not enough! I predict that whether or not Bill plays zone at all next season, you will be seeing more zone from more college teams . . . for that very reason.
