@BShark @mayjay

Created a new category. Want to see if data migration for old categories got jacked but a new one will work.

Can you post a topic in this category?

Feb 02, 2020 02:35 AM #2

@approxinfinity Tried to create a new topic.
Same answer as before. "Category does not exist" Sorry!

Feb 02, 2020 02:39 AM #3

ok. thanks!

I think I did something really dumb with the config when I was tweaking something on the server last week. I've resolved this and no longer get the certificate issue on an incognito browser window. I'm wondering if this solves issues on ios devices not being able to load the site.

I don't think this resolves the posting topics issue however.

Fixed another issue with an expired cert that might actually impact posting issue.. can we try both things one more time? ie
- ios devices connecting
- accounts seeing "Category does not exist" posting topics?

@approxinfinity I just tried to make a thread and still can't.

Feb 02, 2020 03:38 AM #7

Feb 02, 2020 03:39 AM #8

And you tried with BShark2 as well? @BShark2 @BShark

Feb 02, 2020 03:46 AM #9

Tried again with this account. De nada.

Soon as I dropped WiFi I got the “lost connection to KUbuckets” message

Ok! The nodebb guys responded and gave me a suggested change to the dns records (this is outside the scope of their stuff, good on them to look into a fix beyond their solution, but it may not work) that I've implemented which may fix the issue.

Apparently, some poeple reported with their sites that at&t wasnt handling ipv6 dns records correctly and suggested deleting the ipv6 record. I'm hoping this then falls back to ipv4 and everythign works perfectly?

It might take a while for the DNS record to propagate.. woudl you mind trying one more time on your ios device @Kubie et al? If it doesn't work, lets try again in a bit, if it does, awesome.

@approxinfinity

The fix worked for me.

Thank you for looking into this

Feb 03, 2020 08:36 PM #13

Working even off WiFi for me now!

Thread error is back @approxinfinity

Feb 04, 2020 02:15 AM #15

@BShark is this on desktop?

Feb 04, 2020 02:15 AM #16

Yes

Feb 04, 2020 03:02 AM #17

But you posted game thread on another device? This is very hard to diagnose.

I had to edit another thread. Couldn't make a thread on anything.

Feb 04, 2020 03:19 AM #19

@approxinfinity FYI: I was just looking at someone's profile, and their posts were listed based on "best". I went to mine, same thing. It can be changed to just "posts" and that puts it back to listing them from recent on back. But it looks like it defaults to "best". That is new.

Feb 04, 2020 03:28 AM #20

Ok! I can reproduce the problem on my phone which should mean that I can figure out how to fix it.

Feb 04, 2020 03:30 AM #21

@BShark I hit the problem when I post from a category. There's no drop-down for the category and it doesn't appear to carry the Id over. Should be easy fix. For now try creating thread from the recent posts view which will have the category drop-down. This should definitely work on a desktop. Responsive design may not let you on phone.

Edited the issue I sent to nodebb to reflect this discovery:
https://github.com/NodeBB/NodeBB/issues/8145 ↗

EDIT: Issue should now work on our board as I've changed setting to not go to fullscreen composer. The problem exists in the full-screen composer.

Tap the middle of the composer's top bar to select category.

Not working on Safari for me on a desktop/laptop macs... Can't open page because Safari can't establish a secure connection to the server "www.kubuckets.com"

Works on every other browser though, so don't sweat it.

@DanR try reloading a couple times or clearing site cache? All routes and assets should be behind ssl at present.

Feb 11, 2020 12:27 PM #27

The site is now loading on AT&T . Thanks. Now I can visit when I am off my wi-fi.
