Well, we can't complain about the refs - 17 fouls on TCU to just 7 on the Hawks. We are going to have to make FTs down the stretch...
TCU hasn't scored 80 points in about 16 games since
against Grambling. But they are on a 80+ pace now. We simply make other players and teams look like offensive juggernauts...
We've hit a couple of shots, but we simply cannot get stops. Our defense is non-existent....

They aren't making 3s - they are beating us everywhere else on the floor. No intensity by the Hawks. No one doing much of anything. Ochai scoring, but not contributing anywhere else. Dave 1-5 from 3 ft. No bench production. CB has mostly been a no-show.

Sadly, It just may be that the state of Texas teams are just better. We haven't evinced much to the contrary...
But they had a too easy answer...
What stands out. Still getting killed on the boards. They have more FTA when we are at home. Ochai is really our only scoring option, but he has zero RBs or assists and 3 TOs. We need everyone contributing on the glass against this team....
12 point lead to tied. Eerily similar to Baylor???
So, on that Miles 3, Ochai did NOT hedge hard - half-hearted defensive effort...
Not a good omen that Miles is 0-fer and Ochai is 6-9 and we are just up 2....

Just now able to watch. The good is that we're up by 8. The concerning part is that they are again beating us on the boards and they are 0-5 from 3 but still are just down 7
...
We're shooting 50% from 3 and just over 33% from 2....
TCU not shooting especially well - we are just worse...
5-8 from 3 is keeping us in this....
We have only 2 TOs, which is pretty remarkable for us, but getting killed on the boards....

HCBS talks about ball screen issues all the time and you would think it's a focus of practice, but nothing changes - same issues every effing game....

I just don't get the feed the post strategy. It results in way less than 1 pt per possession....
We still may be the in the conversation for a #1 seed, but we need to play better in the next 3 games - none anything close to a sure thing. Right now, this sure doesn't look or feel like a #1 seed team. There have been too many instances of long stretches of just bad basketball this year. We gave up 49 to the Bears in the second half - a handful of times we've given up 50 or close thereto in a half. We gave up 67 points in the last 26 minutes (+8 seconds) of the game - outscored 67-44 over that stretch. Against a team that basically has 6-1/2 players at right now. Got dominated in the paint after dominating the boards early. Allowed BU to shoot well over 50% in the second half.
Just difficult to see how this team can win 3-4 games in a row against quality competition, let alone 6. We just haven't demonstrated that we are capable of doing that. Got whupped by UK, split with Baylor and TTU. Hope for a split with with UT. Is a sweep of TCU likely? An early exit seems at least as likely, if not more so, than a deep run. Would love to be wrong about that....
Jalen 2-10 and just 3 RBs. No real help from bench to make up for it...

They can run end of clock plays - we can't....
Dave has not made a bucket on an a feed to him...
Shooting 36%- just 26% on 3s - not gonna win many games....
We are 3-6 FTs - BU is 13-15.....
Jeez - basically missed 4 FTs and horrible shot by Jalen...
Baylor has 9 more pts at the FT line...
How is it that Jalen has 1 RB in 25 minutes???
We need to attach the effing rim......
We need to get out and run to score effectively. And, we need to RB to do that...
Big rebound advantage early - gone by halftime. Jalen a complete non-factor - only bucket was on the out of bounds save by CB.
