drgnslayr, think of it this way: you'll only be clicking on each story once to read it instead of 50 times to keep up with the comments. Those guys do work pretty hard to crank out stories, so I'm fine with them getting the credit for viewing the content.

@ Wishawk. Granny GeschirrspĂźler was supposedly from Munich, but most of the Reinigungsmittels are from Salzburg.

My name is Daniel Reinigungsmittel. My ancestors were too stubborn to shorten the name to Smith when they came over from Bavaria in 1847. (Well, at least that's the story my great-granddad told me, and I'm sticking to it).

I hope Tarik ↗ has been working on his free throws. At 53%, he couldn't even be on the floor at the end of close games last year at Memphis.

I believe your account was removed, William.

FWIW, You can still post on Jesse Newell's live game blog using your old LJW log in. At least so far during the football games, that's been the case.

@lumpy...
I thought White looked quicker too. Last year it seemed like he was wearing shoes about three sizes too big.

I'm sure as hell not ever watching that season-ending Michigan game again, and if it's that painful for me, I'm sure it's worse for Self. Lessons learned, hopefully. If he had all five guys back for the next season, it'd be worth another look.

I also suspect Self says this to reporters as a way to deflect questions about those games.

Mclemore had 23 for the Kings in that game too.

KUSports policy discussion. • Oct 22, 2013 01:33 AM

I've been relying on the "Unread" button at the top bar to keep up with active discussions. When I'm not starved for good KU hoops chat (well, that might not happen) maybe I won't be able to keep up with it, but that's helping a lot right now.

Timestamp scrolling would be nice and familiar from the kusports p.o.v., but I doubt it will matter over time. Its absence will help to keep redundant threads from forming.

Really good job so far on this, approx.

Wait a while and see how the LJW deal plays out. Have they posted anything official about not having to use facebook?

The way things are going in the newspaper industry, I would not be surprised to see the LJW eventually put up a pay wall, and that would really kill online discussions there--especially from out-of-towners who don't subscribe to the paper. This board (or Ryan's) will help cushion the fall if that happens.

... and take Blown's advice and let people know how they can help support and maintain this site!

It's green when you're logged in, slayr

Kansas, Oklahoma post game • Oct 20, 2013 05:33 PM

Weiss makes at least one or two decisions each game that seem to make no sense. At first, I just figured he's a terrible coach, then I realized he is playing a 9-dimensional chess game (mostly in his own head) that us mere mortals can't possibly comprehend.

With these bizarre decisions (e.g., playing Cozart, not going for 4th and 6 inches down 12, fake punt from the goal line) He's not just setting up the next play, the next possession or next half. He's setting up the next game, next season... his next coaching job.
