There were a lot of Oh hell Yeah moments in the OSU game and Zach had 2 that were hard to beat. #1 The (2nd half) block steal was damn nifty and even more nifty was the loose ball in the FT circle he dove for and just tapped over to Yesyou who fed Bad Bad Leroy Braun for another El Kabong.
Fran did hastily state "I don't know that's what Bill was doing." LOL

Watched the game at 2:30 am.
The refs changed their whole MO at the start of the second half.
About 8-10 minutes into the second a graphic showed we had hit 9 of 10 shots. We were shooting 51% after that, Lmao.
Zach contributed just fine but he seemed a little slow or maybe just half committed due to the obvious.
JWill missed several easy buckets he had worked hard for. Dang it.
Was questioning Bill for not subbing more at the end. Now I see why he didn't.
I liked the unis. George Gervin was watching some old games with his kids and said they called the short shorts Come Get Me pants as in sending a signal to the weirdos.
Only two stats suggest dominance those being assists per basket and points per game.
A negative thought would be we don't create our own shot or when we do we're not successful?

Yes when JWill, Braun and Och need a blow or in foul trouble. But why not Zach on the wing to spell the trio?
Like the CB being the trigger man for inbounds. Yep.
Like Yesfu on the court more in place of Harris and in tandem with Harris. In tandem puts pressure on the opposing teams guards on both ends.
Playing Zach more might help more than it hurts. He could unclog the lane if he can trey and mid range enough to make it happen.
Both Yesfu and Zach seem to be fearless enough to act freely.
It will be nice to see if Zach can be a difference maker and if will he get that chance. Probably will.
Our offense is getting stuck and confusion reigns leading to a turnover or awkward shot. Dave and Mitch are more dangerous on put backs then hooks or whatever. The only ones who are getting open looks for treys are Daj or Jalen and they do not take them. Our high ball screens are a waste of time largely because of that. The aggressive B12 defenses push us out until the shot clock becomes a factor and then pack it in or when we spread it out Dave is a mess to get the ball to within his shooting range.
If we can go 5-2 in our last 7 conference games and get to the conference game championship games that means we are good enough to get past the first weekend of the NCAA's.
Make some three's make our bunnies and we can sleep better. Woot woot!

The bench cannot help. Only Daj can get to the hoop. Put an athletic defender on any one of our guys and it'a a decent chance for a dead possession. We run our offense and when it gets to where it supposed to open up a look there's nothing there and then a forced effort.
If that wasn't terrible what was it?
The inept flail defense. A better team would have us buried.

Our team is good but not great. It seems we are playing on a knife's edge and thus everything that goes swell or goes awry immediately impacts us. Us being the fanatics who sit on our own edge. Smaller margin for error, opponent's best effort, diminished expectations, helplessly watching, mood swings making one dizzy, and shouting at the TV saying are you freaking kidding me ref, Dave, Dj. Kinda silly but here we are.
The day after it's we have the best coach, love Dave for giving his all, Dj is getting better, where would we be without JWill, me wishing we had standardized nicknames for all the players, can Och and Christian keep on keepin on, let's win the B12, win the B12 tourney, be the underdog that wins and moves on and we just might be pretty good next year.
Don't be an asshole. It's not a good look.
