Mickelson taking shots from the top of the key.... Moore taking a 3 with no one under the basket... this doesn't look like a Bill Self team at all! Where's the discipline???
our 10 point lead is whittled down fast.. 21-17
A day of rest was good for us.. But let's not let up. This is a veteran team that knows how to weather the storm.... This will be a battle for four quarters.
This is the first game in medal round for the Jayhawks in South Korea

DeBose was an inspired addition to the team.
Sorry I won't be able to watch with you all due to a commitment tonight.
so which big 12 opponent did Serbia most resemble? I'm going to say Texas.
@drgnslayr said:
But hey… they had 3 shots in the final seconds, two were decent shot attempts.
I think this says it all. They had confidence that they would get 2 or three chances and one of them would fall.
Totally agree about the flops and whining to the officials at every opportunity. Seems to be part of the international culture. Maybe that's why coach K has success internationally.
I don't think we played our best game collectively. Although, Selden and Mickelson were near the top of their games and it was a joy to watch them. But Ellis has disappeared inexplicably. And our guards had a tough day, although Mason is clearly one of the most valuable cogs in the Jayhawk engine. We just can't afford to have him on the bench.
We won a big game, but I think this team has a higher ceiling. I'm looking forward to watching them improve each game!
The only explanation I can come up with: They wanted the ball back. They thought they could get a basket and tie (assuming he made both) or win (if he missed one or both).
Zone is still our nemesis.
note to Self: Please figure out how to beat zone. We took back our lead when they inexplicably switched to man to man.
It certainly was an odd final 15 seconds.
wow.. Too many opportunities given to the Serbs. But it won't haunt us!
We have won each quarter by 1 point.
One more to go.
zone = 6 KU 2
We better figure out how to win a half playing against zone.
Only the cameras saw Lucas' shove.
We're a much better team when we are fast and pass quickly.
We're not good against the zone. When will that become a point of emphasis for this team?
Perry has been MIA for a couple games.
Like our defense..
New kind of outage for ESPNU. No announcers.
Let's go hawks!!
Finally got the signal and it's on !
Somehow, ESPN is able to cover sports globally-- like x-games, tennis, you name it.. But a basketball game from South Korea is a bit too much to ask.
ESPN needs to rethink that intern program with Mizzou grads.
10-10 tie 3:06 in the 1st Q
Anyone who thought the coverage couldn't get worse was obviously wrong.
Not on ESPN3 either..
ARGH.
MESSAGE TO ESPNU: WTF??

Big game tomorrow. Hope we've scouted the Serbs a bit.
Final is 106-41 -- a 65-point trouncing.
KU needed every point of that victory to stay competitive in case of a tie breaker with Brazil and Serbia. Both have been stomping their competition.
It was a good result comparatively. Chile, lost by 45 to Brazil and by 26 points to Serbia.
Only in international competition would a KU team do this to another..
KU crushing Chile 80-31 with at the end of the 3rd quarter.
A necessary pounding because of the tie-breaking rules.
me too!
So lonely here :-(
Halftime score: 47-19 good guys
KU gets a bit sloppy at the end of 1st quarter -- leads 22-9.
KUSA leads 15-2 with 4:22 left in First Quarter.
The story so far: KU hitting 3s. Chile can't hit anything, partly due to our size and speed. Transitions going our way for the most part.
KU starters: Mason, Selden, Moore, Bragg and Ellis
I guess that's a good sign for Ellis' health.
@Crimsonorblue22 Thanks! Based on the previous scores, we need to try to hold Chile in the 30s for the game. Seriously... That would be a statement given that Brazil held them to 33.
This one will really test your fandom. It starts after midnight and there isn't any way to follow the game other than the chat on KUSports.com

@Texas-Hawk-10 Thanks.. I did not know that!
I've seen the same strangeness. I could not find the Chile game. Yet TIVO has scheduled KU v. Brazil at the same time as the Chile game.
I suspect that KUSports.com is right, but we'll all need to watch for corrections/updates.
My guess is that ESPN3 will have it (live streaming on the web), but not ESPNU.
PSA: The Jayhawks have an off day on Monday, but will return to the court to face Chile at 2:30 p.m. (12:30 a.m. CDT) Tuesday at Muan Indoor Gymnasium. The game will not be televised. (from KUSports.com)
@Bwag thanks. Didn't hear about the limp. Wondered if they were downplaying him so the Serbians don't have a good scouting report on him
Ellis didn't play much in the 4th quarter.. Kinda odd.
Setting up the chat early because I won't be here when it starts. It's too early for me (4:30 am)
