85 Series....the night the Royals won it all I was working at a daytime-only radio station. Signed off at sunset, got in the car and zoomed to my favorite tavern. Got there in time to watch Joaquin Andujar melt down. Hardly anybody in Seattle followed baseball pre-Griffey. Just me and a Yankee fan who hated the Cardinals were watching the game.

By the way guys, when you get a chance check out the Bill James essay, "A History Of Being A Kansas City Baseball Fan." Great summation of the 1985 ALCS and WS. It was originally in his 1986 Baseball Abstract. It's since been reprinted in a collection called "This Time Let's Not Eat The Bones." Great stuff.
