Conference play is coming and the Big 12 is rated the #1 conference again. This time, the 4 teams behind KU in the top 25 have a Big Man that is better than any one of our 5.
KU does have one advantage vs. the BIG 4. DEPTH. Other than depth, not one of our 5 have the talent of ISU, OU, Baylor and West Virginia in the paint. We will have an advantage on the perimeter but we might have to give up 15 fouls inside.
These are the veterans we'll be going against.

When Devonte went down on a train wreck knee smash, His value to the team became very clear. He is no longer the baby-faced little (bigger) brother. He has taken ownership of the challenge that Self has put in front of him. We cannot lose him like last year for any significent playing time. He is the turbo Hemi that pushes this team to it's fastest pace since Bill has been here. This is the KU version of Self's Tulsa team for speed.

@nuleafjhawk Has it really been that horrible for you to watch the Jayhawks these last 13 years under Coach. Has the anger at him permeated your soul that it makes it difficult to enjoy what he has accomplished. Is this going to go on all year after every conference game that we win? I hope we score a 100 in all our games, just so I can enjoy coming to this site again.
The haters on the other site refer to their Coach bashers as the "Chicken Little - Sky is falling group." Also, I guess on Hawk Talk last night, two people called coach about why he chooses to play the Big's that get the court time. So, now the "Anti" Self fans are taking the airways, obviously hoping that Self will say, "You're right, I know I should listen to the bloggers and I probably should do it their way."

I've been gone for a while and haven't read any blogs since we beat Harvard and became # 2 in the rankings. I bet HEM and his followers have been praising Self for having the team ranked so high and being thankful for having Self be our Coach.

Harvard hit many long! LONG threes. Good to see Lucas step up at the end like he did last year against Huggy. Our main three shooter was on the bench with 4 fouls. Mason and Devonte had to carry the load without Wayne and Ellis. Ellis had a bad game but his late quick five probably won the game.
