I’ve had some hardships over the past year and life can be a complicated mess but everyone has their ups and downs.
I got a big promotion a year ago but the benefits haven’t outweighed the negatives so I’m at a crossroads. It has brought me financial stability in these hard times though which I’m thankful for but I know I’m going to have to make a decision one way or the other at some point.
My son has become fully invested in baseball this year and the journey still continues. He went from Little League to All Stars to now travel ball and will pitch in his first 9U kid pitch game tomorrow so that’s very exciting. I’m a nervous wreck but can’t wait to see him perform. We have lived at the baseball field since April, and it’s been an honor to watch him grow as a person and player. I don’t think we’ll know what to do with ourselves when the travel season ends next month but basketball is next up for him and he’s excited for that. Hopefully this year I can get him into watching some KU games with me as he was curious at times last season.
With work - similarly I got a promotion about a year ago. Then immediately we were (are) and industry current administration is going after. Caused a ton of stress. Went to therapy to help me understand why I was hating work so much. It very much helped keep things in perspective. Just a thought if you haven’t tried it first before leaving.
Congrats on the baseball! Good luck to him pitching! I miss playing baseball at that age more than any other competitive sports I played.
My 6 year old came home singing this, which he picked up at school. I guess theres a clapping game that goes with it. I enjoyed the regional variations in the reddit thread.

I wonder if you guys have encountered any similar spoken word things (or other things) that varied greatly by region?
I’m going out on a limb here…
If we didn’t have Bill… I’m thinking we would have offered Bobby a job years ago.
Everyone knows I’m old school and a Knight fan, well, most of what Knight stands for.
What is forgotten about Bobby… he ran a clean program. We could have done a lot worse. Unfortunately, no one could tame the mighty beast!
I turned it on at the end. Anyone know why Huggie only used 1 TO the entire game? They made it a little close with a minute or so left, but no TO’s even though he had 3 to use.
San Antonio would always be a fun destination for a Big 12 tournament, but we have bill similar to the HB2 bill that North Carolina passed working its way to legislature that has already gotten comments from the NCAA and NFL about not have not awarding any future Final Four’s or Super Bowls to Texas anymore. That would eliminate 3 Final Four venues and 2 Super Bowl locations.
I’d personally love to see the Big 12 tournament come to Houston at Toyota Center, but the SWAC currently has their tournament there, but I imagine the Big 12 could force that tournament up a week if the ever really wanted to have their tournament in Houston which I don’t realistically see happening anytime in the near or distant future.
Moved it. That’s an option under topic tools button. Some of you should have topic tools rights (based on thumbs up points). If you do and see a post in the wrong bucket please go ahead and move it. No big deal.
@Crimsonorblue22 Do you remember Dave Kingman? Mark Reynolds? Chris Carter? Obrien is alot like them. Very low contact rates. Bodacious power. Morales doesn’t have the same power, but he has a much better command of the strike zone. I think Morales breaks out in Toronto- easier park to knock 'em out. I’m projecting Morales hits more than last year, for sure.
Snyder is too old for the jet-set schmoozing and wheeling and dealing that AD’s must do. I dont think he’s physically up for it, with the cancer treatments underway, etc…At least he thinks he can come back for 1 more football season.
Curry is gone. Snyder will help pick the new AD, and the new football coach, as well as maybe the new basketball coach.
Personally, I’d have no problem with Frank Martin, I like him a lot, even when he was at KSU. But he has SCarolina near the top of the SEC right now. It would be a shock if he came back.
My pet-phrase for a while was that once Frank Martin left, it became Manlesshattan. Nothing against Snyder with that statement, as he simply doesnt have Frank’s sideline demeanor.
