I’m hearing Lance has been to Florida this week

-
I think he would be foolish to leave, if he beats KSU a few weeks ago everyone is super happy with him. Even now 5 wins people ain’t on his case. If he goes to a Florida or Wisconsin any thing less than 10 wins is gonna get you fired after a few seasons.
-
@kjayhawks maybe he went to negotiate with Disney for better TV time.
-
I really hope we see LL here one more year at least. I do think they do all the right things as far as running a football program, so the floor is higher than a lot of other guys we could end up with. If he makes a bowl this year he should get two years no matter what. Bowls 2/3 years moving forward should be expectations.
Next steps are really just stacking bowls and beating rivals. We aren’t THAT far from that. Win one of these final 3 games, get that bowl and extra practice. Do it again next year.
You can already see us doing better recruiting locally against KSU. Keep that up for 3-4 years and you’ll see KU take a step up, and likely KSU a step down. Let LL recruit to his new facilities for a few years.
The program is in as good of shape as it has been in 13 years. We just need to be a patient fanbase. I do think we are still on the right track. Progress is unfortunately not linear at times
-
Like I said on another topic with all the big name firing this year so far and we likely ain’t done yet. Some of these schools are going to have to fight to get their 3rd or 4th option at HC. That likely could be Lance in a few places.
-
I can’t blame him, FANS wanted him fired!
-
-
Don’t ask me.
-
I deal with unpleasantries professionally for far less cabbage. Just saying

-
@approxinfinity yes if you can’t take some heat after losing to your rival for the 17th straight time (not all on Lance) then you aren’t in the right profession.
-
I sincerely doubt it’s true. There’s basically no interest between Florida and Lance and a coach leaving the state on a game week is unheard of. Probably just a random Twitter account trying to stir the pot.
-
When Lovie Smith got hired by the Bears nearly 20 years ago he said his goal was to beat the Packers, something not happening much at that point. He started out 7-3 against them, finished 8-11. I’m not close to firing Leopold, but having a coach make a statement like this really would endear him to the KU faithful.
-
@wissox Lance’s goal should be to beat the Packers? Maybe the Chiefs…
-
Wisconsins AD announced Fickell will be returning as head football coach in 2026. So that’s prob a bullet dodge, bet he gets a new OC tho lol
-
@kjayhawks II seen that too , was really happy about that-- that was a big one
-
Apparently I’m the only idiot watching KU lose today. But not for much longer. Whoever has the power, please put this miserable program out of its misery. Pathetic…
-
@nuleafjhawk You’re not the only one. Not anything positive to say so far!
-
What the hell happen to our offense
-
There the he// it is!

🥰

I think I poked the bear.
I may have to continue to poke throughout the game.Seriously though, LL or whoever is calling the plays on offense is among the most boring and unimaginative people in college football history.

Lance had to be more aggressive folks, not going for that 4th and 2 on as as big of a play as any today. We have to stop playing not to lose in close games. It has not worked for 2 years. Lance would have a winning record here and 4 bowl games in 5 years if we could figure out close games.
-
Also, send prayers, well wishes, whatever to Lance and his family. Kelly recently had a major health scare.
-
@kjayhawks . - - – Well perfect clarification as to why Coach didn’t go for it on fourth and two. Just read from an article by Swain , said as the decision was being thought over he was told he could not have Jalon on the field for the next play even if he wanted to, He said he couldn’t put him in even with by calling a time out like you can do if it’s a helmet coming off- - - -you can’t put a player back in the game afer an injury called by he officials. Decision made by that
-
Yep he was going to go for it until that
-
@SlimShaddy54 why couldn’t he have put in Ballard or Marshall for one play?
-
@nuleafjhawk I dunno didn’t say other then they just didn’t feel comfortable with putting them in - - -really not sure exactly on that, Leipold said he wanted Jalon in— Jalon said he wanted in but the ref made the final determination , Jalon said he wasn’t really sure why they wouldn’t let him back , something about if you showed ANY kind of weakness
-
@FarmerJayhawk She has breast cancer according to a tweet of hers I saw.
-
@SlimShaddy54 - Not comfortable? What does that say about next year? 🫤
-
@Gorilla72 who knows.- - I have a feel on one thing though , I think come next year Marshall is going to over take Ballard. -going to be interesting though to because have heard that McComb is a pretty dam good QB- -might have a real battle,
I think every time Marshall he has given good results running for multiple 8 yard games or more when he is in , very athleic ad fast
-
If Marshall can’t throw move him to RB or WR
-
@kjayhawks getting kind of late in the Season for experimentation now , but agree for sure. I think we need to make use out of Marshall for sure , the kid is to good wasting his years on the sideline
-
I’m excited for Zeke. Kid is a gamer. It might be a little rough at first as he adjusts to P4 ball but he’s got a lot of potential.
-
Anybody hear when we play sat?
-
@Crimsonorblue22 We are off Saturday.- - We don’t play again till the 22nd against Iowa St
-
Duh
-
AZ seems so long ago
-
@Crimsonorblue22 Duh lol
-
Ugh, I’m still suffering from the KSt and AZ losses. Lance and staff just can’t seem to win games. The closeness of the games shows KU has the talent on the field to win. I’m not sure a 5-7 season is any better than 0-12. Worse because I follow the team only to suffer these close losses. KU led almost the entire AZ game until the last 60 seconds; KU is every other college team fan’s favorite team to play.
-
Tamp down those expectation. I was expecting 2 -3 wins. This year had been great!
-
@stoptheflop that’s the hardest part Lance did a good job pulling this program from the depths of hell to having expectations. My expectations along with most fans is make a bowl. I don’t feel like that’s too lofty of an expectation. The other side of the coin with the Nice contract he got and the demands for the stadium upgrades that are in progress currently. One can say he isn’t holding up his end of the deal. Us losing so many close games the last few years but competing for the most part tells me we have the talent to go to bowl games. It’s as simple as if we lose Friday. He has to make a Bowl in 2026 to keep his job end of story. He made two of the worst coordinator hires in CFB history back to back.
-
It seems like football is a long term fix, unlike basketball.
So, it’s hard to decide how frustrated to be. The worst part is that we’ve been on that fine line to make a bowl game in recent years. It’s a simple goal, but seems unachievable.
-
I’ve concluded is this year we have no Devin Neal. Devin made p for a lot of mistakes , helped a hell of a lot covering a lot of decencies we had. We for one are not near the team we was with Devin not nearly as close to the more explosive team as we had last year.
Yet that’s not where our main problem lies it’s our defense, our defense just ssucks— plain and simple , they can’t stop a cold sure they can make a play here and there but then turn right around and give up huge play on key third down- - that is just not acceptable , there has to be a change. We must have guys that can play pressure man defense–b just have to be better all around.
-
@rockchalkjayhawk we are light years passed the quick fix IMO. This is year 5 five and very experienced roster as was last seasons. In 2022 we were able to build off a win late in the year in Austin the year before. We returned just about everyone and made a bowl game. 2023 we same thing built off a good season and won 9 games with a bowl. 2024 we had the most experienced roster in CFB and returned a number of guys that made NFL rosters. Couldn’t win close games 5-7 and this year will end the same way. Our two deep is loaded with seniors and experienced players. If can’t make a bowl this year I see no chance at it next season. I’d bet a good amount cash we are right back to the 3 win era.
