Losing a dear, long time friend to it. Well it's very likely at this point anyway. I'm pretty broken up about it, trying to to get into a bad drinking situation like when I lost my dad.

Love you all, board rats.

Don’t do that! it won’t help! Talk to somebody. Have u got your vaccine? If not sign up. Encourage others. 🙏 you r not alone. Sucks! Count your blessings and think of good times. I try to do that. I’m always around! So sorry!

@Crimsonorblue22 I think I had covid too recently (literally just got over it) to get vaccinated right now if I understand correctly.

Apr 08, 2021 11:29 PM #7

But eventually I will get it.

That SUCKS. We are in the RED ZONE and weeks away from the end zone. This is the WORST the time to get covid.

This is when everyone should be digging in, together, making the final push to victory... leaving nothing to chance and doing everything in our power to protect lives until the vaccine reaches everyone.

Be safe @BShark and hang in there.

@BShark I'm so sorry about your friend. I'll keep you in my prayers. As @Crimsonorblue22 recommended, try to think about the good times you shared. She is right - that can help and, remember, the bucket kingdom is here for you!

@tis4tim My brother was close with him as well, we've been commiserating, watching some tv shows together.

@BShark I haven't had a loss of anyone close to me due to the virus, so I can't pretend I know how you feel. But I can only imagine the dismay of foregone futures together for anyone who has lost friends or family. The saddest part for me is the feeling of helplessness that something so small has destroyed so much, and at this stage, how frustrating that we are so close to defeating it but not close enough to still save everybody.

Perhaps your friend's passing will at least serve as a beacon of light illuminating the risks that so many still face even as we advance with vaccinations toward normalcy in some (finally foreseeable) future.

I hope you can adjust to your own hollow space and fill it with those memories that previously might have seemed mundane but now are worth so much. Like the many times we have seen cancer victims or survivors memorialized, perhaps your friend's passing can help others to keep themselves safe to save their loved ones from the grief you are experiencing.

Please keep yourself safe, and take joy in helping your friend live on through your continued celebration of knowing them.
