Not really sure who I want actually between Villanova and Houston. Both are gonna be a Bear , Hoston so aggressive on defense and kill it on the Boards. I think I would almost rather play Villanova , although they are the best free throw shooting team in the Nation- toss up really to me

Mar 26, 2022 07:56 PM #3

@jayballer67 which team has the fewest 20-30percent three point shooters likely to go off on us?

I think that would probably have a tendency to favor Houston

I think I'd rather see Villanova than Houston in the Final Four. Houston is by far the best defense left in the tournament. UH is also an elite offensive rebounding team which has caused a lot of issues for KU this season. UH is also 12th in assists per game which is crazy because of how slow they play.

Mar 26, 2022 09:38 PM #6

I think KU would rather play Nova as well. Houston is really good.

I dunno. Villanova isn't that big or quick, but they are a very solid, disciplined team. Control the pace. Gang rebound. Wish Dave had a scintilla of the footwork that Daniels does for Villanova.

Mar 26, 2022 10:04 PM #8

I really wanted at least one of these teams to get knocked out early because I didn’t want to see them.

Mar 26, 2022 10:08 PM #9

@Texas-Hawk-10

Prefer Houston since they struggle to score at times

Mar 26, 2022 10:13 PM #10

I would be more concerned about Miami right now than either of these two teams. Miami is going to be a tough match-up for us, as well.

Mar 26, 2022 10:15 PM #11

Welp guess get your Nova tape ready if we win tomorrow

Mar 26, 2022 10:18 PM #12

We already know what Nova does. Up to Self and the players to show up if they get there

Houston averages 3 more points per game and is 37th in total FG%. Houston is also the superior rebounding and passing team. Their 8th in offensive rebounds per game and 23rd in total rebounds per game. Both areas where KU has struggled this season. UH is also 12th in assists per game meaning they pass the ball extremely well and move without the ball extremely well and we have defenders with habits of falling asleep on defense. UH is also 39th in steals per game, 14th in blocks per game, amd 62nd in turnovers forced.

Villanova meanwhile is 201st in FG%, 202nd rebounds per game, 150th in offensive rebounds per game, 252nd in assists per game, 224 in steals per game, 308 in blocks per game, and 240 in turnovers forced.

Even though Villanova is the best FT team in the country, they're 204th in FTA's per game so they don't take advantage of that.

The one area that does worry me more about Villanova over Houston is 3 point shooting as Villanova is much better than Houston in that regard, but UH's offensive rebounding prowess is what worries me the most in a match up against either team because we've seen KU get destroyed on the glass several times this season.

Villanova is the better match up for Kansas should KU win tomorrow.

Mar 26, 2022 10:28 PM #14

I think the ā€œWright owns Selfā€ narrative is a little overdone. We’ve lost a couple in some really weird ways over the years (Dot getting hurt in Philly, Devonte phantom fouls). Each game with the exception of 2018 came down to the wire.

Welp, gonna be Nova if we beat Miami.

Mar 26, 2022 10:50 PM #17

Actually the 1st half of this game looks a lot like the first half of our game last night. - -Neither team can throw it in the Ocean , just feel Villanova should be up big , but just like KU having hard time making shots

Whenever KU and Villanova play in the NCAA tournament, the winner of that game has always gone on to win a national title. 2008, 2016, 2018.

Mar 26, 2022 11:19 PM #19

Both teams look pretty bad. Nova going Supernova next Saturday confirmed

Mar 26, 2022 11:20 PM #20

@Texas-Hawk-10

Wow didn't know that?
Nova holds Houston to 20 pts first half.
No one seems able to hit treys anymore.

Mar 26, 2022 11:22 PM #21

Ugly Ugly ball game. Hoston much more aggressive going for rebounds 2nd half

Mar 26, 2022 11:26 PM #22

Got a game!

Mar 26, 2022 11:28 PM #23

DAM - I do not want to play Houston- - they would destroy us on the boards. - -I have sen it happen already this year don't care to see it again. - -TCU- - -Kentucky - -no thank you

@DCHawker and with him they only play 7. Collin archi. is a lot slower.

Mar 27, 2022 12:06 AM #36

Both teams missed a ton of open looks.
Can we get out of a scoring slump? Don't know what's up with Och but 4 or 5 treys and a couple of Ka Bongs we might run away from the Hurricanes.

Mar 27, 2022 12:08 AM #37

Chuck, "he should be the last man up on the ladder" to the guy on crutches!

Oachi just needs to see he first couple shots fall - - get some confidence back- -We need Christan to put up better numbers - we can't have both not scoring the ball

Mar 27, 2022 12:13 AM #40

I will repeat - I'm more concerned with Miami than Villanova. Miami presents different and difficult match-up challenges. Unfortunately, Dave may be unplayable, as their only big is a good 3 point shooter - and not their leading rebounder. They have 3 guards that have taken 150+ 3 pt attempts. This may be a game where we need to play small - and a lot of Juan and Remy in at the same time. Will really need to guard the perimeter. Jalen and CB are enough to handle the boards if they get any help at all.

Mar 27, 2022 12:15 AM #41

I would also note that everyone dissed the ACC - they were ranked as the 5th best conference by most metrics. But that is due in large part to the fact that they have several bad teams. But the fact is that they have 3 teams in the E8 and 2 will be favored to get to the FF.

Also Nova just lost one of their two best players. Looked like an achilles injury.

Mar 27, 2022 12:19 AM #43

KU should have a huge advantage tomorrow on the boards if they focus. -- Miami terrible rebounding only averaging 30.5 rebounds per - - - - KU averages 37.4 rpg. - - KU averages 78 points per -Miami 74.8 - - 3 pt shooting is a wash

Mar 27, 2022 12:27 AM #44

DAM I am soooo sick of how far ESPN has their nose buried up K's and Dukes Ass -- Then commentators trying to bury their nose just as deep - - -sick of it

This is TBS

Mar 27, 2022 12:31 AM #46

I wonder if these announcers know how many people just despise K and Duke?

Mar 27, 2022 12:45 AM #54

@DCHawker he had a pretty good game vs isu. His ave isn't great. Should be interesting, 6'10"

Mar 27, 2022 12:51 AM #55

All hail Pope K

Mar 27, 2022 12:56 AM #56

Hogs hanging in there. Starting to figure out how to work dook’s doubles

Lol , that's funny. Anytime KU is in a close game or like that - - the wife says well she gonna run to Walmart - - she knows not a good place to be here when it one of those one possession games lol

Mar 27, 2022 01:19 AM #60

@jayballer67

Truth!

Mar 27, 2022 01:25 AM #61

Who dresses these guys?

Mar 27, 2022 01:27 AM #62

Well think we see how this is gonna turn out -Arkansas just doesn't match up

Mar 27, 2022 01:29 AM #63

Arkansas needs to rain threes and crash the boards. Watched the first half. I can't stand to watch Duke play any more than that, so I'll just follow the score for the rest of this one.

Mar 27, 2022 01:48 AM #66

@BShark yeah, just got a espn update. Gotta win tmrw.

Mar 27, 2022 01:53 AM #67

Hogs got it to 5…

Mar 27, 2022 01:56 AM #68

Still rooting for the pigs, but if there is some karmic justice to be balanced where Mitch Lightfoot hits a turn-around jumper from the top of the key to beat Duke in the championship, I'd be OK with that.

Mar 27, 2022 01:59 AM #69

Well they tried

Mar 27, 2022 10:58 AM #70

Moore potentially being out is big. Gotta take care of business to worry bout that

Mar 27, 2022 11:06 AM #71

Ok...it's time for Remy to START. Let's get him 35+ minutes today...

Mar 27, 2022 12:15 PM #72

I'd like to keep the same starting 5, not disrupt the chemistry.

Remy off the bench is an assassin, lets continue on this path.

He can still get significant minutes tho.

Mar 27, 2022 04:51 PM #73

@AsadZ i agree. I dont want our identity to change, i want to bring an effective two headed monster. Have the first unit drop some 3s on nice action, then run remy and blow the doors off.

Mar 27, 2022 05:52 PM #74

They may press too

Mar 27, 2022 08:49 PM #75

Don’t think at peters is as good a story as NC Duke final four match up. Refs agree so far.

Mar 27, 2022 08:50 PM #76

Yeah UNC DUKE is in a different stratosphere with it K' last

Mar 27, 2022 08:54 PM #77

@BeddieKU23 no way Duke loses Ks last game v North Carolina TWICE.

Mar 27, 2022 08:54 PM #78

Opening line has KU favored by 4

Mar 27, 2022 08:55 PM #79

@benshawks08

Actually I'm here for it to HAPPEN

Mar 27, 2022 08:55 PM #80

The real question is who will get the big post game interview when Duke loses to Kansas in the finals?

Mar 27, 2022 08:55 PM #81

Bet they still go to K first.

Mar 27, 2022 08:58 PM #82

St. Peter’s is t going away after a BAD start.

Mar 27, 2022 09:02 PM #83

Heels are gonna have a fight. Pete’s can defend

Mar 27, 2022 09:03 PM #84

No idea why UNC has slowed tempo. Just letting them defend them a certain way

Mar 27, 2022 09:43 PM #85

Official Justin Moore out for Villanova. Gigantic loss

Mar 27, 2022 09:44 PM #86

Moore averages nearly 15 a game. Nova only scores 72 a game. Doing the math. Well let's just say we just gotta play our game and we got a REAL good chance

Mar 27, 2022 10:15 PM #87

They will find points elsewhere. You can count on tbat

Mar 27, 2022 10:35 PM #88

If 3 or 4 guys shoot above their pay grade sure. They don't have deep bench at all. It's a gigantic departure from their lineup
