He gone

Dave Mccormack, KU legend. As Mark Jackson used to say, “mama there goes that man”

He stays!

@Jethro nope

I want whatever is best for Dave. Its hard to say what that is.

Only reason for him to stay is to work on the 3pt game. If he can shoot 35-40% or better from 3 for the year (which, of course would require that Bill allow him to do that) then he could raise his stock with the NBA. 6-10 + dudes that can shoot 3s and are also skilled in the paint (jump hooks, short jumpers, etc.) are valuable in the league.

@bskeet maybe with legit tall guys coming in Dave could play the 4?

@approxinfinity lol stop

Remember when we actually tried that and it was an unmitigated disaster?

@BShark yeah but… yeah….

Another reason to stay may be to prove his foot has finally healed up. Having a bad wheel on a big guy should be a big red flag to any NBA team I would think. He managed to survive a college season on it but how about an NBA marathon?

@Kubie I don't think he ever logs an NBA minute. He was still laboring in the FF games but really gutted it out with an amazing leave it all out there performance.

@BShark agree there, I just don’t see Dave as an NBA guy. I would love for him to prove me wrong but at this point I can’t see him getting that chance. Heck, I could see Mitch getting a look someplace as a potential stretch 4 before Dave does at the 5.

Wherever BD goes they're gonna want to check that foot out! I wish he could play in the nba, he pretty much showed everyone up in the tourney. 🙏. I don't think he's coming back, Self said he could finish his masters online. Thought that was a good hint. I want the best for him, he deserves it, he worked hard. He never gave up, Self knew we had to have him to succeed even if our fans didn't!

@BShark when u saying laboring, u mean getting up and down the court or just putting the ball in the bucket?

Apr 18, 2022 01:02 AM #16

@Crimsonorblue22 You could just see that his foot was hurting him if you pay really close attention. I noticed more while rewatching the games which I like to do to try and catch more things, Self's coaching decisions etc... Harder for me to notice live when I'm caught up in the game.

@BShark he said his foot wasn't bothering him. I have always been amazed, hurt foot and all how fast he runs the floor. He was a plus 16, other guy a 1. I do know his faults, but for a big, he can run the floor.
