I was hit and miss on the red carpet, but didn't see anything that didn't gag me. None of our guys. So I'm recording it, holler if you see them. I'm pretty excited.

Stephen A Smith. Vomit. Wheres the mute button?

Jun 23, 2022 11:02 PM #4

My eyes are still recovering from that bright purple outfit Paolo Banchero has on. He says it's a tribute to his folks.

His mom starred at the U of Washington, where she still holds some career records. Got to see her play a few games for the Huskies when she was known as Rhonda Smith. Wished he'd stayed in town to play a year at U Dub instead of Duke, but eyerybody knew he'd get more national pub playing for Coach K instead of a middling Pac-12 program.

So where does our boys land guys ?- - I saw in a mock draft off ESPN and they had Oach at # 14 to Cleveland- -Notsur on Christan - -I think Oach is like 16th hope he lands better

Jun 23, 2022 11:35 PM #6

Wow! Did not expect Banchero to go #1

Jun 23, 2022 11:39 PM #7

@Texas-Hawk-10 Surprised me too. It seemed like that just snowballed in the last day or two. Until then it looked like he'd go behind Smith and Holmgren.

Jun 23, 2022 11:41 PM #8

Hoping the Nuggets draft CB so I can watch him play.

Jun 23, 2022 11:42 PM #9

By the way, that jingle they play before each pick...is it just me, or did they "borrow" the tune from the opening of that old song "See You In September" ? Always thought they sounded the same.

"I'll be alone each and ev'ry night...While you're away don't forget to write..."

Jun 23, 2022 11:45 PM #10

I dont think Banchero is the best player. I think Orlando made a mistake, and can wallow in mediocrity a little while longer.

Freaked out and went with the safe high floor pick. Duke.

They borrowed it from the NFL Draft.

Houston is going to be happy Orlando screwed it up. I will eat crow in our bad predictions thread if im wrong. Im not.

Jun 23, 2022 11:49 PM #13

@approxinfinity I agree. I think Jabari is the best player in the draft

Jun 23, 2022 11:51 PM #14

Sacramento deciding which career they want to destroy

Jun 23, 2022 11:52 PM #15

@KirkIsMyHinrich lol so true

Jun 23, 2022 11:53 PM #16

Keegan Murray from beating the heck out of KU in the NCAA tournament to playing for Sacramento. Blessed.

Yeah, and I wonder if either of them had to pay any royalties on that.

Jun 24, 2022 01:00 AM #26

Och in the lottery!
(dude, lose the freaking gum!)

Jun 24, 2022 01:00 AM #27

Would like to have seen Charlotte pick him up so he could play with Oubre, but I guess Cleveland's OK as long as he can get some minutes.

Jun 24, 2022 01:02 AM #28

You'd thought Duke or Kentucky would've won the championship?

Jun 24, 2022 01:17 AM #29

Thoughts on CB's pic?

Jun 24, 2022 01:28 AM #30

Glad Och was picked Lottery just not crazy about the team. - -Now with him as a lottery his money guaranteed right ?

Based.

Love the spots for both our guys. I can't believe there were people that thought CB wouldn't test well. He's going to stick around in the NBA. Really fits how the game is played now.

Jun 24, 2022 01:45 AM #37

I ain't gonna lie I didn't think there was any way he would be picked THAT HIGH, and if your being honest I don't think ANYONE here thought he would be that high either Al I hear from guys here and others that he was a fringe 1st round 28th or below to 2nd round.

So you tell me and remember GOD'S listening to you and remember you can go to hell just sa fast for lying as you can for stealing - I want you to tell me with a straight face you thought he would go that high

Jun 24, 2022 01:47 AM #41

@jayballer67 It was clear he was going in the first round if you looked at Vegas betting odds. Was bet all the way down to +100. Also, he probably had a good idea it would happen since a lot of fringe second round guys including Jalen came back.

Wasn't that clear from what I was readaing seen way to much talk o fringe 1st to 2nd round - - - 30th pick at best was what I was seeing. - -I'm glad he is where he is just saying surprised

kind of surprised that Ty TY hasn't been drafted yet. just the way the ards have played out I guess

Jun 24, 2022 01:58 AM #48

21 is a little earlier than I was thinking for CB. When I said I hoped the Nuggets drafted him I was thinking at 30. I had him like 25-30 in my mind. I would have also been fine with GS taking him at 28.

Jun 24, 2022 02:08 AM #49

Porter is always hurt. Doesn't ksu pt guard monte Morris play for them?

Sorry I brought him up! Please no Drew comments. What about coach Self? Did Drew have 2? Surprised Kendall wasn't picked. Tyty was in the top group and just picked, somebody misjudged. I haven't watched lately.

Jun 24, 2022 04:38 AM #56

Remy is gonna make some dudes look like fools in the Summer League. He’s not a NBA guard but he is the kind of hard to defend that makes bad summer league defenses REALLY bad

As the 14th pick, Och will potentially earn $2.9M and $3.1M his first two years.

As the 21st pick, Braun could earn $2.1M and $2.2M in his first two years.

Millionaires! That’s awesome for them.

Okay.... everyone take a deep breath...

Now go backwards! Just a few years back!

Both of these guys were judged to not even become decent college players. Basically overlooked by college recruiters.

So the answer is YES... this draft is very special for us as well as the fellas!

Congratulations to both players and I'm glad both stayed in the draft!

Read today gave the salarys of this years every players money in 1st round picks. - - It said they went of the Salary Scale Value based on the 22-23 Rookie Scale chart real GM

A Player can sign for as little as 80 % to as high as 120 % of the scale value of where they were selected. - -Rookie contracts last for 4 years , with the last two years as team options.

So they have Ochai Salary listed for his rookie contract at 3, 221, 600 - - & Christian at -2,309 , 100 Dollars. - be hard to take huh - - College players one day - - Millionaires the next lol

The Cavaliers have officially signed 2022 draft picks Ochai Agbaji and Isaiah Mobley, the team announced today in a press release.

The 14th overall pick in last week’s draft, Agbaji received the rookie scale contract that is standard for first-round picks. Assuming he signed for the full 120% of the rookie scale, which is the norm, he’ll earn approximately $3.9MM in year one and $18.7MM across four years.

The 22-year-old Agbaji won an NCAA championship with Kansas as a senior in 2021/22 and enjoyed his best college season, averaging 18.8 PPG and 5.1 RPG with a shooting line of .475/.407/.743 in 39 games (35.1 MPG).
