@Jethro So sad. I wish he were like me and never made a poor decision at that age. Or at 64.

I scolded some Jayhawk fans that were piling on him. Pisses me off. Not one of us are perfect- we all make mistakes. Here is what I wrote:

"Everytime something like this happens, the harumpers flap their arms like chickens. He screwed up. He's not perfect like you. He'll learn from his mistake. Get off his back."

Mistakes are pretty costly

The dad that just passed away played on a team I helped coach, we took them to Vegas to play. He was also a 7ft high jumper. He was a teacher and coach at Nickerson, his wife was just promoted to ast super. there. He's donating his organs.
His wife Amy is still critical, Ava the D-1 player signed to play at Iowa last Sunday has a spinal cord decompression. Suppose to make it. Her lil brother was shoved out of the way, by Trey, so minor injuries. This is devastating to so many in and around our state.
So don't talk about drinking and or taking drugs and driving! I love Dtae, he's a millionaire, call an Uber! How fast was he going? He could be in jail, serious shit here.

My apologies- I should've not repeated what I wrote on another board. They were getting really ugly with him, but I wasn't trying to minimize drunk driving. I am a victim of drunk drivers 3 separate times, and have life long medical issues due to the last one. It was a Saturday morning in Houston, Tx back in probably 2001, and I was out working. It was 9:30 am, and I was stopped at a red light, and a woman drunk on her ass slammed into me going around 30+ MPH. The cop said she never hit her brakes. Her car flipped over. The cop said she was so drunk, she couldn't even tell him her name. Totalled my car, and I still have chronic back and neck pain from it ( Learned the hard way on that one why you carry full coverage and not just liability). Of course, the driver had no insurance, no license, but she did have several criminal warrants, and the cop that called me later said she did go to jail after she was released from the hospital.
