The 2-0 Hawks are 8.5 dawgs at Houston this weekend.

This was always one of the games on the schedule that was winnable, but I thought unlikely to be a win at the beginning of the season. A 12-2 Houston team from a year ago returning their starting QB who threw for 30 TDs was always going to be a challenge.

But dare I say this game looks more winnable now than before? They struggled to score against a TTU team that nobody expects to be very good. While Tune has still be okay so far, they haven't ran the ball well enough to help him. And their defense has allowed a ton of yards.

I honestly think that as long as we get a similar performance from Daniels and Co. this week that this game is a win. We may honestly have one of the best OL in the country. And so I expect the offense to keep the wheels turning with some level of consistency. If the defense can get early stops, I really think we can start this season 3-0 coming into a 3-game home stand.

Prediction: KU 42 - HOU 31

We should be in this game, should have a legit shot. If we can get our defense to just step up some , be a little more stubborn we should be right there. feel like we can do some things.

Tune is completing 59 % of his passes - -not bad -but sure not earth shattering - 472 yards and 4 TD'S on the year. Again Eh decent but not eye popping , I think we might be able to pressure Tune has been sacked 6 times already this year.

WR Nathaniel has 12 catch's for 170 yards - - Their offensive Line has been having problems opening some holes for the RB'S only averaging 3.1 per carry

The Ol has to stand up and protect Daniels , really keep an eye on Derrick Parish been really good so far- -- Parish had 4 1/2 sacks & 6.5 TFL'S and a forced
fumble last week so a person that needs to be dealt with

I just feel in my gut this is one we need, these are the types of games needed for our continued progress my pick is -KU 38 - -Houston 31

I just keep reading/seeing diffeent things that tel me there is no reason why w shouldn't be in this game . have a legit chance to win. Seen this today Houston ranks 119th against the pass giving up an average. - -UTSA threw for 337 yards - - -Tech threw for 350. - - of 7.1 per attempt The Article talks about KU'S balanced attack over 200 yards passing , over 200 yards rushing.

Now it does talk about Houston D-Line how pretty stiff against the run , and how they will pressure from both sides so O-Line gotta be ready stand up and protect Daniels. I just think it hopefully will be a good game

Random thought , maybe it's just me , maybe over reacting . Just curious , kind of wondering- - find it kind of interesting , WHY is it that it just doesn't seem like there is hardly any conversation , posts , comments on KU football on this site from people ? - -Is it that there just any interest about football , not really caring about our Football team ?-- It just seems like it's kind of like EH.

Are we a School that only cares about one sport ? - -( Basketball ) - and yes I love our Basketball, just seems like we have an attitude of I could care less about anything other then Basketball. If that is the case then that's truly sad All our sports need backing/support. - - We have a really goof Womens Volleyball team -Our Soccer team is doing pretty good, AND I truly think our football team is getting this turned around and yet they don't hardly receive any kind of support /mention

YES I know it's only two games AND ? - -- just seems like there is this totally lack of interest/support - I mean there is almost no mention of the team unless it's me or possibly one or two others here. Again it's only two games but I'm telling you this time is on the move , -- -I truly believe this team has a legit shot to win this game tomorrow plus multiple others.

Again I could be wrong , have been many times before just seems like football has a approach with people of who cares. - -I'm not saying but then again this is part of the problem hard to get things we need with such lack of interest, and things we need is we need to fix that OLD STADIUM - not saying people hee throw huge chunks of money - just saying the lack of interest een by people who CAN donate funds seem to have the same attitude. - -Would just love to see some more interest in the program thats all KU IS more then just Basketball , our football now has it's guy that's going to show it by turning around this team. - - Thanks guys for listening

I'm interested in football, but just re-engaging after a decade of disappointing teams. Speaking strictly for myself, it will take some time to get back up to speed on the program and have the ability to make cogent contributions to this forum.

It was really disappointing that they sucked the entire time I was in school.

Today is the first KU game I've been able to attend since the 2018 game against Baylor in Waco and I'm looking forward to seeing what should be a pretty high scoring game. Both defenses are well below average and with KU having already played a road game, the environment won't intimidate them at all. With the way KU's offense has looked so far this year, they'll be in most games this year which is a very refreshing change from most of the last decade where it was a great day if KU scored 20+ points. It'd also be nice to see KU at 3-0 for the first time since my senior year at KU in 2009-10.

There's scattered storms forecasted in the area today so it could be which team can run better which based on the first two weeks is advantage Kansas. Plus it would be nice to beat former KU commit and current Cougar QB Clayton Tune.

All that said, Kansas 45-Houston 38

Not gonna happen, GameDay will likely either be in Knoxville for Florida-Tennessee or Winston-Salem for Clemson-Wake Forest. Dallas would be longshot for A&M and Arkansas.

Today was fun. The alumni tailgate sold out, KU's visitor allotment of tickets sold out. It was loud and the rain didn't drive people off. The fans were loud throughout the game. Obviously we were worried when UH went up 14-0 quickly, but the momentum shifted very quickly after the Logan interception. Daniels has become a very good QB and hopefully KU receives some votes in the polls this week.

It didn't hail at the stadium. We went to the concourse when the downpour started and then back to our seats after KU's first TD when the rain started letting up. It wasn't even raining hard when the lightning delay began.

Monday he tested + for covid and his wife was + on Tues. Both took paxlovid, mostly stuffy head colds. They are certain it was from that game.

But dare I say this game looks more winnable now than before? They struggled to score against a TTU team that nobody expects to be very good. While Tune has still be okay so far, they haven't ran the ball well enough to help him. And their defense has allowed a ton of yards.

I honestly think that as long as we get a similar performance from Daniels and Co. this week that this game is a win. We may honestly have one of the best OL in the country. And so I expect the offense to keep the wheels turning with some level of consistency. If the defense can get early stops, I really think we can start this season 3-0 coming into a 3-game home stand.

Nice prediction!! I've had some super busy weekends and once again wasn't able to watch unfortunately. But I hope to catch some games later which probably means then they'll start losing games again!!

What a change from last year to see our leading tacklers being linebackers and defensive ends, not dbacks. Total tackles: Rich Miller, 9; Craig Young, 7; Lonnie Phelps, 5; Lorenzo McCaskill, 4; and Hayden Hatcher, 4. No longer does Kenny Logan have to do it all by himself. Yesterday he had 5 tackles. I thought the defense took a big step forward yesterday.
