Gradey Dick needs just 8 more 3 pointers to tie Jeff Boschee’s freshman record of 79 that he set in 1999. He currently sets 4th behind JR Giddens (74) 2004 freshman season and Ben McLemore’s (73) 2013 freshman season. It’s been pretty impressive to watch Gradey get shots knowing most teams are going to face guard him. He is much better than what I thought he’d be this season. Thought we were getting another Braun, which would be great too, just didn’t expect him to be a better shooter right outta the gates. Way to go young fella!

If Gradey can get 10-15 lbs of muscle and improve on his D a bit, gets beat on dribble drives, he will be a dynamite.

It’s always hard to tell going from Highschool to college. We had several guys that shot the lights out in the smaller highschool gyms and showed up struggling. Go watch Frankamp or Downs highschool tape and they look like Curry.

Frankamp had off the court problems. Took a few yrs to handle them. I'm not sure he was a Marsha fan either. Missed some games with migraines. Don't remember them happening here. Self wants a player to play D, commit to team ball. Connor can shot, just not like gradey!

@Crimsonorblue22 The Frankamp thing worked out best for everyone. Would be curious if we end up landing DG if we have CF on the roster still.

@Kcmatt7 if I’m not mistaken DG was here at the same time just before CF left early in the year. I think CF just wanted to play. He would’ve had a great career here had he waited to develop.

Gradey has officially broken the record with 82 made 3s. Let’s keep counting them young fella! I have googled and not found an NCAA record for freshman made 3s, I would be shocked if this isn’t top 10. Any info on such is appreciated.

I've got a deal with Gradey... He keeps kicking butt like he did today and helps us with our back-to-back and I'm pushing him to leave for the league!

And he will become a KU legend!

He can lead us in rebounds from here on out because he's our smartest rebounder. He sees the shot and has a good idea of where the ball will go and sees his lane to get to the rim for the boards. Traits of a good rebounder.

@drgnslayr yes his rebounding the last few weeks has been solid. I personally like that Gradey will be in the Kansas record books as a OAD. That’s not an easy feat in this era of college basketball. I think he can drive home the nail on being the greatest OAD in KU history this postseason. To me only Jackson is in the conversation, it stinks Joel was hurt because I think he was leading us to a FF but that’s life.
